The Treasury Department and Ministry of Finance presented the old Royal Mint building to the Fine Arts Department to be converted into the National Gallery on April 19, 1974. The grand opening took place on August 8, 1977, to celebrate Queen Sirikit's birthday which took place on 12 August.
The National Visual Arts Gallery of Malaysia (Malay:Balai Seni Visual Negara) was established on 28 August 1958, by Tunku Abdul Rahman, the first Prime Minister of Malaysia. The gallery is also a statutory body and an agency under the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Tourism of Malaysia.
The gallery had changed its name to the National Visual Arts Gallery since 2011 under the Akta Lembaga Pembangunan Seni Visual Negara 2011.
National Gallery Singapore (Chinese:新加坡国家美术馆; pinyin:Xīnjiāpō guójiā meishùguǎn) is an art gallery located in the Downtown Core of Singapore. Opened on 24 November 2015, it oversees the world’s largest public collection of Singapore and Southeast Asian art, consisting of over 8,000 artworks. National Gallery Singapore aims to provide an understanding and appreciation of art and culture through a variety of media, focusing on Singapore's culture and heritage and its relationship with other Southeast Asian cultures, Asia, and the world.
Situated in Singapore’s Civic District, the Gallery consists of two national monuments, the former Supreme Court Building and City Hall, and has a combined floor area of 64,000 square metres (690,000sqft), making it the largest visual arts venue and largest museum in Singapore when it opens. A total cost of S$532 million has gone into National Gallery Singapore’s development.
Gallery objectives
The 5 main objectives of the National Gallery Singapore are as follows:
Thailand (/ˈtaɪlænd/TY-land or /ˈtaɪlənd/TY-lənd;Thai:ประเทศไทย, rtgs:Prathet Thai), officially the Kingdom of Thailand (Thai:ราชอาณาจักรไทย, rtgs:Ratcha-anachak Thai; IPA:[râːt.tɕʰá.ʔāː.nāː.tɕàk tʰāj]), formerly known as Siam (Thai:สยาม; rtgs:Sayam), is a country at the centre of the Indochinese peninsula in Mainland Southeast Asia. It is bordered to the north by Myanmar and Laos, to the east by Laos and Cambodia, to the south by the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia, and to the west by the Andaman Sea and the southern extremity of Myanmar. Its maritime boundaries include Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand to the southeast, and Indonesia and India on the Andaman Sea to the southwest.
The 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup was the 7th FIFA Futsal World Cup, an international futsal tournament that took place from 1–18 November 2012 in Thailand. An extra four teams (increase to 24 from 20 at the 2008 event in Brazil) were competing at this World Cup.
Brazil defended their title, winning it for the fifth time, by defeating Spain in a rematch of the 2008 final 3–2 after extra time.
The host nation, Thailand, qualified automatically.
Qualified nations
Venues
The matches were originally due to take place across four venues. Due to construction delays and failure to meet the security requirement, early matches scheduled at the Bangkok Futsal Arena were moved to the Hua Mark Indoor Stadium. After the final inspection on 5 November, FIFA announced that the Bangkok Futsal Arena had not sufficiently met the criteria. The two quarter-final matches would be played at Nimibutr Stadium, while Hua Mark Indoor Stadium would host the semifinals and the final.
