Dame Julia "Julie" Elizabeth Andrews, DBE, (néeWells; born 1 October 1935) is an English film and stage actress, singer, author, theatre director and dancer. Andrews, a former child actress and singer, appeared on the West End in 1948, and made her Broadway debut in a 1954 production of The Boy Friend. She rose to prominence starring in musicals such as My Fair Lady and Camelot, both of which earned her Tony Award nominations. In 1957, she appeared on television with the title role in the musical Cinderella, which was seen by over 100 million viewers.
My Lucky Day is a song written and recorded by Bruce Springsteen. It was released as the second single on his 2009 album Working on a Dream.
History
"My Lucky Day" was made available in the U.S. on Amazon.com on December 1, 2008, accompanied by a long music video that showed Springsteen and the band arranging and recording the song. It was also made available as downloadable content for the game Guitar Hero World Tour on January 27, 2009, along with "Born to Run" as part of the Bruce Springsteen Pack, which can be imported into any GH game since World Tour, making it one of only two Springsteen songs ever to appear in the series. It peaked at #18 on the American Triple-A charts in early June.
Despite being a single the song wasn't played a lot during the Working on a Dream Tour making just five appearances during Springsteen's U.S. shows and a total of nineteen performances total on the world tour.
"My Lucky Day" is the fifteenth episode of the American television drama seriesThe Killing, which aired on April 1, 2012 as the second half of a two-part second-season premiere. The episode is written by series producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin and is directed by Dan Attias. In the episode, Rosie Larsen's bloody backpack is dropped off at the garage's doorstep—a sign to her father Stan that the police arrested the wrong person. Gwen provides more information to Sarah about Richmond and the night he was suspected of killing Rosie. Holder begins to realize that he is a pawn in a bigger conspiracy. Richmond wakes up to learn that he is no longer a suspect but is paralyzed.
Plot
Stan Larsen (Brent Sexton) wakes in the middle of the night to learn that his son Denny (Seth Isaac Johnson) thinks he heard someone outside. Upon investigation near the front door, Stan trips over a pink backpack with the initials "RL". Detective Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) arrives to seal the backpack's contents in evidence bags. Stan confirms that the backpack belongs to his daughter, Rosie. After realizing that the bag was placed outside after a suspect had been arrested, Stan demands protection for his family. Holder does not respond. On the phone, Lt. Michael Oakes (Garry Chalk) orders Holder to bring the backpack to the station immediately and give it to a technician named Stu (Darren Moore). Holder says that evidence in the past had normally been given to Gary, another tech. Oakes stands firm with his order. Holder turns in his own blue backpack. Oakes later tells Holder that forensic results only revealed Rosie's fingerprints on the backpack and insists that he drop the case. Holder ponders his boss' lies and Gil Sloane (Brian Markinson) tells him to stop speculating, adding that any blame on the case belongs to Sarah.

Julie Andrews' first solo album in five years began life as a private project. Andrews recorded a group of happy love songs accompanied by keyboard player Bob Florence as a birthday present for her husband, film director Blake Edwards, who turned 65 on July 26, 1987. He suggested she seek commercial release for the collection, and she did, albeit on the small independent label USA Music Group. On it, she sings classic pop standards by Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, and Johnny Mercer, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, and others, as well as such...

The accompaniment ranges from solo acoustic piano to something approaching synth pop/rock; the latter is not exactly a style usually associated with Andrews, but she brings it off, even if it will sound odd to many of her fans. At age 52, she is still in good voice, and she brings sincerity and taste to her interpretations. Despite the occasional electronic sounds, this is a very warm and intimate record that would make an excellent Valentine's Day or anniversary present.
