I saw live John Surman great saxophonist and clarinetist English
in 1992 at the sala vanni here in florence, was in solo with his instruments: baritone sax, soprano sax, bass clarinet and electronics, it's been almost thirty years and I remember that as one of the most fascinating and unexpected concerts I've seen in my life, it was an incredible sound experience, his music and his turn in the middle of the room with its accompanying electronics, It was like a big leslie spinning all his music and merged it with that space made of a frescoed ceiling and people in strict silence
(back then it was still possible to listen to concerts in silence
without these fucking cell phones that seem to be in a washing machine of perennial noise)
and the wonder that struck me accompanies me even today. This composition of his revisited with my virtual instruments is my little tribute to him in my live at home.
