Mount Etna Morris was born September 1, 1900 in Dadeville, Missouri to hardware merchant Albert G. Morris and his wife. He had two siblings; brother A. George Morris, an official with the Missouri Department of Conservation, and sister Lucille (Morris) Upton, an author and newspaper reporter. Following graduation from Walnut Grove High School, M.E. Morris served his nation during World War One. After his military service Morris attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield and later the University of Missouri. On December 24, 1922, he married the former Helen Adamson of Everton, Missouri, and had two children. In April, 1967 he married Margery (Lott) Adamson, the widow of his first wife's relative.
Mount Etna (/ˈɛtnə/; Italian:Etna[ˈɛtna] or Mongibello, Sicilian:Mungibeddu or â Muntagna, Latin:Aetna) is an active stratovolcano on the east coast of Sicily, Italy, in the Province of Catania, between Messina and Catania. It lies above the convergent plate margin between the African Plate and the Eurasian Plate. It is the tallest active volcano in Europe, currently 3,329m (10,922ft) high, though this varies with summit eruptions. It is the highest mountain in Italy south of the Alps. Etna covers an area of 1,190km2 (459sqmi) with a basal circumference of 140km. This makes it by far the largest of the three active volcanoes in Italy, being about two and a half times the height of the next largest, Mount Vesuvius. Only Mount Teide in Tenerife surpasses it in the whole of the European–North-African region. In Greek Mythology, the deadly monster Typhon was trapped under this mountain by Zeus, the god of the sky and thunder and king of gods, and the forges of Hephaestus were said to also be located underneath it.
New explosive eruption of Mount Etna: A layer of ash covers Italy
Overview of weather and natural events in the World for July 20 / 2021.
A new eruption of Mount Etna on the east coast of Sicily was recorded by specialists from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of Italy.
According to scientists, the next increase in activity was accompanied by fountains of lava and a powerful ejection of volcanic ash, which formed a huge cloud that rose above the crater for about a kilometer.
The eruption was recorded on the southeastern slope of the volcano, along which streams of incandescent lava descended to about two thousand meters above sea level.
The eruption of the Strombolian type was characterized by small explosions, the release of volcanic bombs and fragments of a rather large incandescent slag. These pieces of rock fell on several settle...

Spectacular footage of Mount Etna's mesmerising night-time eruption
Europe’s most active #volcano Mount #Etna continued to spew lava, ashes and volcanic stones on Thursday.
The eruption, which featured spectacular displays of gushing lava, forced the temporary closure of #Sicily's Catania Airport, a frequent occurrence when Etna is in an active phase.
On Tuesday, areas surrounding the crater were secured but there were no reported injuries or deaths.

The eruption of the Strombolian type was characterized by small explosions, the release of volcanic bombs and fragments of a rather large incandescent slag. These pieces of rock fell on several settlements near the volcano, in particular on the villages of Nikolozi, Pedara, Mascalucia and Trecastagni.
The "stone rain" caused some material damage, but there were no reports of casualties or injuries. Individual volcanic bombs even flew to the center of the province of Catania. Volcanic ash fell in some areas of this large city. Even the seabed is covered with a thick layer of ash.
