John Roy "Jon" Anderson (born 25 October 1944) is an English musician, singer and songwriter best known as the co-founder and former lead vocalist in the progressive rock band Yes and his solo career, for which he has collaborated with numerous artists.
Anderson was born John Roy Anderson in the town of Accrington in Lancashire, in north west England. His father Albert was from Scotland and his mother Kathleen was of Irish ancestry. Anderson dropped the "h" from his first name in 1970. Anderson attended St. John's Infants School in Accrington. There he made a tentative start to a musical career, playing the washboard in Little John's Skiffle Group who performed songs by Lonnie Donegan, among others. After leaving school at the age of fifteen, Anderson landed a series of jobs including farm hand, lorry driver, and a milkman. He tried to pursue a football career at Accrington Stanley F.C., but at 5 feet 5 inches (1.65 m) tall he was turned down because of his frail constitution. He remains a fan of the club.
Jon Anderson may refer to:
Jon Peter Anderson (born October 12, 1949), a lifelong Eugene, Oregon resident, is a publisher, and runner best known for winning the 1973 Boston Marathon. Anderson was a competitive long-distance runner from 1966 to 1984. He represented the United States as a member of the 1972 US Olympic track and field team.
In 1971, Anderson graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, with a bachelor’s degree in economics. In the Ivy League and at the national level, Anderson notched numerous achievements during his collegiate career. In 1969 and 1970, Anderson was an Ivy League cross country first team selection. He won the Ivy League and Heptagonal Cross Country Championship in 1970 at Van Cortlandt Park, New York City. In the spring of 1970, he was named an NCAA All-American when he placed third in the NCAA Division I six-mile at Drake Stadium, Des Moines, Iowa. Anderson was injured (stress fracture) during the 1971 outdoor track season. In his senior year at Cornell, Anderson was elected to the Sphinx Head senior honor society. He was also a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
"Morning Star" is a song by British hip hop group N-Dubz. It was the final song to be released following the announcement of their two-year hiatus confirmed by the members earlier that year. The song was released via digital download on 14 March 2011. The song was produced by Free School and written by Jean Baptiste, Nick Marsh, Ryan Buendia, S. Gordon and Michael McHenry.
The beginning of the track samples "You Get What You Give" by the New Radicals.
The music video was uploaded to YouTube by All Around the World on February 8, 2011. The video begins with large text saying: "N-DUBZ" in capital letters, a change from their traditional logo. Inside it, we see a silhouette of the group and the rest of the screen fades to the shot, the silhouettes then fade into the full appearance of the group. The group sing in front of a plain backdrop, occasionally in front of special effects. Throughout the video, shots of space and shooting stars are seen, as well as a female dancer.
That's The Way God Planned It is the fourth studio album by American musician Billy Preston, released in August 1969 on Apple Records. The album followed Preston's collaboration with the Beatles on their "Get Back" single and was produced by George Harrison. The title track became a hit in the UK when issued as a single. Aside from Harrison, other contributors to the album include Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Doris Troy.
Derek Taylor's sleevenotes to the original Apple release praised Preston as a wonderful new signing. "Billy Preston is the best thing to happen to Apple this year. He’s young and beautiful and kind and he sings and plays like the son of God."
Preston himself wrote in the notes:
Record Collector's reviewer writes that "[The album reveals] the organist to be an accomplished, spiritually engaging singer-songwriter." In his preview of Apple Records' 2010 reissues, for Rolling Stone, David Fricke lists That's the Way God Planned It among his top five non-Beatle Apple albums. Fricke writes of the song "That's the Way God Planned It": "[Preston] would have bigger hits in the Seventies but never make a better one than this album's rapturous title track … The rest of the album is solid church-infused soul, with Preston covering both Bob Dylan and W.C. Handy." Reviewing the album for Blues & Soul magazine, Sharon Davis writes that "this is an extremely worthy release; reminding us of Billy's enormous and irreplaceable contribution to music."
The Morning Star was a ship wrecked near Quoin Island, Queensland 12.4305ºS, 143.421667ºE in 1814.
The Morning Star was a brig of 140 tons constructed in Calcutta, India and registered there to the owners Lackersteen & Co. On 2 or 3 July 1814, whilst on its way from Sydney to Batavia was totally wrecked in the Torres Strait. On 30 September 1814 as the ship Eliza was passing Booby Island a white flag was spotted flying on the island. A boat was sent to investigate and found five crew from the Morning Star. They stated that on 25 September the master, Robert Smart, with nine other crew left the Island for Timor in the longboat. There is no record of their arrival in Timor. Excluding the party with Smart and the five rescued by the Eliza, it appears that twenty-two crew drowned in the wreck of the Morning Star.

Olias of Sunhillow is the debut studio album by English singer-songwriter Jon Anderson, released on 9 July 1976 by Atlantic Records. When the progressive rock band Yes took a break in activity in August 1975 for each member to record a solo album, Anderson, having established himself as their frontman, decided upon a concept album that tells the story of four tribes of an alien race and their journey to a new planet after their home is threatened by a volcanic eruption. Olias, a magician, builds a spacecraft named the Moorglade Mover and is helped by fellow magicians Ranyart and Qoquaq to gather and carry the population to their new home. The album was recorded using a mobile studio situated at Anderson's country home in Seer Green, Buckinghamshire, with himself as the sole producer and M...

So carefully we watch and wait for you
Listening so readily, touching you
There is a point to surface in your heart
(Ancient Opionian Chant)
The light it touches you
Once the light it touches you
No matter what it takes
No matter what mistakes
No matter how which way
No matter what it takes
No matter what it takes
No matter how which way
Sitting in the glowing sphere of love
Each and every day
Sitting in the glow of light, of one
You're on your way
Take me, holding love
Take me, holding love
Time and time
Take me, holding love
Take me, holding love
Take me, holding love
No matter what it takes
No matter what it takes
No matter how which way
Standing in the soul of your devotion
No matter what it takes
No matter what mistakes
No matter how which way
Sitting in the glow of love
Each and every day
Sitting in the Mother love
Each and every day
Each and every way
Touch me, holding love
Touch me, holding love
Time and time
Touch me, holding love
Touch me, holding love
Touch me, holding love
Touch me, holding love
In my dreams I dream alone
Words are used and tolerance shown
Looking glass, look in my eyes
Ease the passion of the blind
For everywhere, the sun is there
For those who care
July tree I love you so
Listen how your branches grow
To everywhere, the sun is there
For those who care, for those who share
Somehow a point to surface in your life
