Monty Python (sometimes known as The Pythons) were a Britishsurreal comedy group who created the sketch comedy show Monty Python's Flying Circus, that first aired on the BBC on 5 October 1969. Forty-five episodes were made over four seasons. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, spawning touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books, and a stage musical. The group's influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music.
Broadcast by the BBC between 1969 and 1974, Flying Circus was conceived, written, and performed by its members Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. Loosely structured as a sketch show, but with an innovative stream-of-consciousness approach (aided by Gilliam's animation), it pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in style and content. A self-contained comedy team responsible for both writing and performing their work, the Pythons had creative control which allowed them to experiment with form and content, discarding rules of television comedy. Their influence on British comedy has been apparent for years, while in North America, it has coloured the work of cult performers from the early editions of Saturday Night Live through to more recent absurdist trends in television comedy. "Pythonesque" has entered the English lexicon as a result.
Born into the middle gentry, albeit to a family descended from the sister of King Henry VIII's minister Thomas Cromwell, Cromwell was relatively obscure for the first 40 years of his life. After undergoing a religious conversion in the 1630s, he became an independentpuritan, taking a generally tolerant view towards the many Protestant sects of his period. An intensely religious man—a self-styled PuritanMoses—he fervently believed that God was guiding his victories.
He was elected Member of Parliament for Huntingdon in 1628 and for Cambridge in the Short (1640) and Long (1640–49) Parliaments. He entered the English Civil War on the side of the "Roundheads" or Parliamentarians. Nicknamed "Old Ironsides", he was quickly promoted from leading a single cavalry troop to become one of the principal commanders of the New Model Army, playing an important role in the defeat of the royalist forces.
After Yorktown, Cromwell left the army. Commander-in-Chief George Washington personally signed Cromwell's discharge papers and also designed the Badge of Military Merit, which he awarded to Cromwell.
Some years after retirement, Cromwell applied for a veteran's pension. Although he was unable to read or write, local lawyers, judges and politicians came to his aid, and he was granted a pension of $96 a year. He purchased a 100-acre farm outside Burlington, fathered 14 children, then spent his later years at his home at 114 East Union Street in Burlington.

British History Documentaries - Oliver Cromwell and the English Civil War
We always have to keep in mind that a Documentary, after all, can tell lies and it can tell lies because it lays claim to a form of veracity which fiction doesn't. Some of the documentaries are made just to discredit some particular person, party, organization, system etc, but most of them here on TDF are non biased, without prejudice and worth watching.

Oliver Cromwell: The Man Who Killed a King
He’s the man who killed a king. Oliver Cromwell, the English Puritan turned military dictator, is today most famous for signing the death warrant that led to Charles I’s bloody execution in 1649. Over a hundred years before the American and French Revolutions shook the globe, this smalltime farmer from the British sticks proved with steel that the divine right of kings was not so holy after all.

The CRAZY Story Of Oliver Cromwell's Head
Oliver Cromwell is regarded centuries on as a controversial figure in History. He was the man who defeated King Charles I during the English Civil War, and he led Parliament's Army. Oliver Cromwell - His Life in a Nutshell
“I tell you we will cut off his head with the crown upon it!” These were the words of Oliver Cromwell, demanding the life of King Charles I after the English Civil Wars. But what led Cromwell to take such a radical stance, and how did he rise from obscurity to wield such immense power? In this video, I explain.

It was then buried and interred in a resting place. But Cromwell's head went on a crazy journey to finally lay to rest 300 years after it was initially buried.

After this, Cromwell's head was placed on a spike above Westminster Hall and it remained here for over 20 years.
But then his head went missing and it passed through the hands of many different people who owned it and brought it for money. Cromwell's head went on display in a circus exhibition and was owned by many different people, however it was eventually in the 20th century returned to his former site of study, Sussex Sidney college in Cambridge University. It was then buried and interred in a resting place. But Cromwell's head went on a crazy journey to finally lay to rest 300 years after it was initially buried.

Oliver Cromwell is regarded centuries on as a controversial figure in History. He was the man who defeated King Charles I during the English Civil War, and he led Parliament's Army. But after the victory, he was the driving force too behind the execution of King Charles I, who was beheaded by the axe in London. But after the monarchy was restored following Cromwell's death, his body was dug up and was posthumously executed when Charles II ordered the Regicides. His dead body was paraded throughout the streets of London before it was hanged in chains and then executed by the axe.
