Blair International Baccalaureate School (formerly Blair High School) is located at 1201 S. Marengo Avenue, Pasadena, California 91106 and is in the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD).
It offers the IB Middle Years Programme and the IB Diploma Programme. The school underwent a major academic overhaul beginning in the fall of 2003 as a result of sub-standard academic performance, which prompted a state review. The school's two "co-principals" were replaced with a single principal, Rich Boccia (an administrative official with the Pasadena Unified School District, and district employee since 1980), who previously was principal at South Pasadena Middle School. During Boccia's tenure, school wide academic performance rose sharply as a result of several academic reforms and in 2005 Boccia was named Secondary School Principal of the Year for the State of California for his leadership success at turning around Blair.
During the 2005-2006 school year, Blair International Baccalaureate School was one of many PUSD schools threatened to be shut down due to budget cuts.
The prospect of having to send their children to John Muir High School and elsewhere brought out a strong showing of community support and was able to convince the Pasadena school board to keep Blair open. Students, parents (both with enrolled children, and those considering Blair), and various local figures attended school board meetings in large numbers to support Blair. The parents and community also advocated strongly for the smaller, more manageable size of the campus, the 7th-12th configuration which allows for longer buy-in time for families and the fact that Blair is fully authorized to offer the prestigious IB Diploma Programme in addition to the Middle Year's Programme. Blair is the only PUSD secondary school located in the Southwest part of Pasadena.
Blair High School is a publichigh school in Blair, Nebraska, United States. The 140,000-square-foot (13,000m2) building was built in 1970 at a cost of $2.2 million. Sitting on 75 acres (300,000m2) of land, it services approximately 750 students.
The school's former building, built in 1889, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1991. The original building was a two-story building in the Richardsonian Romanesque style, with a two-story Colonial Revival addition in 1929 and a one-story flat brick annex added in 1969. The building has been converted to apartments, offices, and a social hall.
The School's newspaper, known as the Bear Tracks, is a student-made paper consisting of 7 sections and is issued at the end of every month.
The school's colors are purple and white; its athletic teams are the Bears. Blair High School is a member of the Eastern Midlands Conference and competes in Class B athletics as well as competing in mostly Class A fine arts. Blair High School's main rivals include Elkhorn and Gretna.
The precise stage of schooling provided by a high school differs from country to country, and may vary within the same jurisdiction. In all of New Zealand and Malaysia, along with most of Britain and parts of Australia, Bangladesh and Canada, high school means the same thing as secondary school, but instead of starting in 9th grade, these "secondary schools" begin at ages 11 or 12.
Country by country
Australia
In Australia, high school is a secondary school, from Year 7 or Year 8 through to Year 12, varying from state to state. High school immediately follows primary (elementary) school; therefore, a Year-7 Australian high-school student is sometimes as young as 12. In Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory, the term "high school" generally refers to Years 7–10, whereas the term "College" is used for Years 11–12. In Victoria the term "secondary college" has largely replaced the term "high school" following the reforms of the Labor Government in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some schools have retained the name "high school" (such as Melbourne High School) and many have now dropped the "secondary" and are simply known as "college".
High school is the last segment of compulsory secondary education in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Scotland, the United States, and other countries; the term also refers to the building where such education takes place.
High school may also refer to:
Education
Folk high school, institutions of adult and continuing education common in the Nordic countries and Germany

“This is just unheard of. I’m not going to lie. I’ve never seen this before," Blair student Habei Belai told a group of reporters.
Gio Caballeros, who left Blair about one month ago to take part in Montgomery County's GED program, noted that the students should not have been in the parking lot to begin with.
“It’s class. Lunch doesn’t start until 11 a.m. They should have been in class," Caballeros remarked.

Bubble gum and house parties When you stole your parents rum And tried to screw everything that could breathe Back in high school we didn't have a whole lot to do We watched the world go by on the television screen Said it's the 90's kids that's way out this is way in Go beat each other up on the dance floor Told us drugs were no good But then we smoked 'em and liked 'em So much that we smoked a little more We liked 'em so much, we smoked a little more Did I call your name? Did you hear me singin' that song that I wrote for you? You're so the same but your so different I didn't recognize you It's kinda hard with all that sexual confusion Sometimes you don't know if you're gay or straight But what's the difference, it's a wonderful illusion Most times you won't make it past second base I'm in a band, we kinda suck but we don't now it yet And I don't care anyway 'Cuz soon, I'm gonna sell these drums, pay my rent Support my kid and tell him all about way back in daddy's day I'll tell him all about way back in daddy's day Did I call your name? Did you hear me singin' that song that I wrote for you? You're so the same but your so different I didn't recognize you Some years later by a soda coolerator In a corner store back in my home town This stranger smiles at me, said "Remember the class of '93?" And for some reason it makes him look real proud After all the good times he said we had He looks at me, scratches his head And asked me where the hell I ever went And the funny thing is that I never even knew him But he coulda been any one of my high school friends Did I call your name? Did you hear me singin' that song that I wrote for you? Your so the same but your so different I didn't recognize you Did I call you name? Singin' that song that I wrote for you Singin' that song I wrote for you
