The 2013 Middle East Rally Championship season is an international rally championship sanctioned by the FIA. The championship is contested over seven events held in seven different countries across the Middle East region, running from January to December.
Reigning champion Nasser Al-Attiyah successfully retained the championship with an event in hand after taking victories in Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and Cyprus and finishing second in Lebanon. He would go on to win Dubai as well. Al-Attiyah scored more than double the points of second placed driver, Khalid Al-Qassimi. Al-Qassimi finished second in Qatar, Kuwait and Cyprus and finished third in Jordan. Third place went to Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari who finished third in Qatar, Kuwait and Cyprus as well as a fourth place in Jordan.
The only driver to defeat Al-Attiyah in a rally this year, Roger Feghali who won in Lebanon, is not a championship competitor.
The 2014 Middle East Rally Championship season was an international rally championship sanctioned by the FIA. The championship was contested over six events held in six different countries across the Middle East region, running from February to November.
Reigning champion Nasser Al-Attiyah defended his championship, winning four of the six rallies to be held, but the title was not decided until several days after the event. Al-Attiyah's fourth victory– at the Dubai International Rally– had originally been the first of the season for Khalid Al-Qassimi; Al-Qassimi had won the event by 0.3 seconds, and the championship title by a single point. Al-Attiyah protested the results, claiming that Al-Qassimi had violated designated driving regulations. Event officials rejected Al-Attiyah's protest, but the FIA's International Court of Appeal accepted a subsequent protest. Al-Qassimi was given a 30-second post-event penalty, and his one-point title-winning margin, became a deficit of thirteen to Al-Attiyah. Third place in the championship went to Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, who won the Cyprus Rally, which was held alongside the European Rally Championship event. The season's only other winner was Nicolas Amiouni, who won his home event in Lebanon.
The 2015 Middle East Rally Championship season was an international rally championship sanctioned by the FIA. The championship was contested over eight events held in eight different countries across the Middle East region, running from February to November. The championship was significantly expanded for 2015 season. The Oman International Rally returned to the calendar after a seven year absence, while Iran joined the championship for the first time with the Shiraz Rally debuting in May, the last rally before the mid-year winter break.
For the fifth season in a row, Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah won the championship title. Al-Attiyah won six of the seven rallies he contested– the only failure being a retirement in Lebanon– en route to his eleventh MERC title overall. With his victory in Oman, Al-Attiyah also tied Mohammed bin Sulayem for most rally wins in the MERC, with 60. Al-Attiyah finished 48 points of his nearest challenger, Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, who finished five rallies in second place during the 2015 season. Third place in the championship went to Khalid Al Qassimi, who won the rally that Al-Attiyah did not contest, the Dubai International Rally. Roger Feghali won the season's other event in Lebanon, but did not compete in enough events to be eligible for the championship standings.
Mobil 1 Rally Championship (officially called Mobil 1 British Rally Championship, unofficially nicknamed Rally Championship 2000) is a rallyvideo game which is part of the Rally Championship series. The game was released for Windows and PlayStation on 31 December 1999. It is developed by Magnetic Fields, distributed by Electronic Arts and Atod, and published by Actualize. The PC version is notable for stages based on real-life Ordnance Survey maps. Magnetic Fields exists no more.
After the Network-Q RAC Rally Championship (1996), it is a sequel to the International Rally Championship (1997).
It features 22 cars and 36 tracks (42 in PlayStation version), drivable in two directions: Simulation and Arcade.
Cars
There are four classes available with a total of 22 cars:
Rally Championship is a series of loosely related rallyvideo games, focused on rally racing and based on what is now known as the Rally GB. The series began in 1988 with Europress' Lombard RAC Rally game and ended in 2002. Each game in the series had many different front covers.
Lombard RAC Rally (1988)
In 1988, Europress released Lombard RAC Rally for the Atari ST and Amiga under their Mandarin Software label. This was based on the same rally (under the earlier sponsors' names) as the later Network Q RAC Rally games.
The game prominently featured an animated driver, seen from behind moving the steering wheel, with the road seen through the car's windscreen.
The next game in the series was called Network Q RAC Rally Championship. It was released for MS-DOS and Windows in 1996. This new version has more tracks, cars, and better graphics.
The Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) is a motor rally championship run under the auspicies of the FIA. First held in 1984 the championship encompasses a series of rallies held across Western Asia. The championship has featured long-running events like Rally of Lebanon, Rally Oman and the Troodos Rally in Cyprus as well as World Rally Championship event Jordan Rally. Many of the rallies in the region pre-date national independence, mostly from the United Kingdom thus the championship could be seen as a legacy of British (and French in the case of Lebanon) colonialism.
The championship has been dominated by remarkably few competitors. Mohammed bin Sulayem is a 14-time champion and reigning champion Nasser Al-Attiyah has won 11 times. Between them they have won over 60% of events in thirty-year history of the championship.

The Middle East one day, it blew in, swept away In comes the sunshine, story turned to strange In walking comes a smile, I didn't know the day She sits down beside me, perfectly arranged Laura's gone away, I don't know just how long she'll be there Sadly eyes of pain are bouncing in and out of nowhere She wanders all around, will she make it on fries and coffee Bigger words then tears, I'm afraid of what it might be Laura's gone away, I don't know just how long she'll be there Sadly eyes of pain are bouncing in and out of nowhere And she's bouncing in and out of nowhere Ain't nobody help me on the outside Gotta make it through to the inside And I'm talking strange Ain't nobody help me on the outside Gotta make it through to the inside And I'm talking strange Talking strange Laura's gone away, I don't know just how long she'll be there Sadly eyes of pain are bouncing in and out of nowhere It's alright, she leaves it all behind We all run for the Middle East sometimes Little mind yeah can take us anywhere Escape us anywhere, escape us everywhere
