Kilogram

The kilogram or kilogramme (SI unit symbol: kg), is the base unit of mass in the International System of Units (SI) (the Metric system) and is defined as being equal to the mass of the International Prototype of the Kilogram (IPK, also known as "La Grande K" or "Big K").

The gram, 1/1000th of a kilogram, was originally defined in 1795 as the mass of one cubic centimeter of water at the melting point of water. The original prototype kilogram, manufactured in 1799 and from which the IPK is derived, had a mass equal to the mass of 1.000028 dm³ of water at its maximum density at approximately 4 °C.

The kilogram is the only SI base unit with an SI prefix ("kilo", symbol "k") as part of its name. It is also the only SI unit that is still directly defined by an artifact rather than a fundamental physical property that can be reproduced in different laboratories. Three other base units (Cd, A, mol) and 17 derived units (N, Pa, J, W, C, V, F, Ω, S, Wb, T, H, kat, Gy, Sv, lm, lx) in the SI system are defined relative to the kilogram, so its stability is important. Only 8 other units do not require the kilogram in their definition: temperature (K, °C), time and frequency (s, Hz, Bq), length (m), and angle (rad, sr).

Uz štićenike Vaspitno-popravnog doma u Kruševcu i Kazneno-popravnog zavoda za maloletnike u Valjevu, kockice mozaika ove teške teme upotpunjuju intervjui sa ekspertima, igrane rekonstrukcije i dokumentarno-arhivski zapisi. Film je edukativnog karaktera, a ujedno i bolna priča o raspadu jedne države, slomu srednje klase, moralnih vrednosti i onome što je građane Srbije zadesilo, uključujući ubistvo premijera Zorana Đinđića. Teška tranzicija izražena je kroz priču o piramidi trgovine narkoticima koja ide od ulične prodaje droge na grame, razvija se u prodaju na kilograme kroz stvaranje mreže ulične prodaje (kakvu je stvorio Zemunski klan) i kulminira prodajom na tone, karakerističnom za narko kartele. REČ REDITELJA JANKA BALJKA Sa iskustvom autora koji je imao taj čudesni flash filma „Vidimo se u čitulji“ koji je negde aktuelan i posle dvadeset godina, prihvatio sam ideju da se vratim u priču o organizovanom kriminalu. Mnogo mi je više hrabrosti i radoznalosti bilo potrebno za priču o dostupnosti droge maloletnicima. Jer pored nekih stvari prolazimo svakodnevno, ali svesno ili nesvesno žmurimo ispred činjenica. Saznanja koja smo u otkrili u istraživanju bila su više nego šokantna. Mene je, kao roditelja tri ćerke u kritičnim godinama, dodatno porazilo saznanje o tome koliko se starosna granica za prosečnog konzumenta droge spustila – na svega 14 godina. Ali informacija koja me je zakucala za stolicu je da najmađi registrovani korisnik heroina u Lazarevcu ima 12 godina. Motivaciju i rediteljsku viziju za ovu temu nažalost nisam dugo tražio. Produced in 2015 as part of the European Union's Strengthening Media Freedom in Serbiaproject, the film received support from Serbia's Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Youth and Sports. Synopsis: Twelve young interviewees, currently serving sentences for drug-related offenses, share their stories of entering a vicious cycle that is difficult to escape. Alongside accounts from residents of the Juvenile Correctional Facility in Kruševac and the Juvenile Penitentiary in Valjevo, the intricate puzzle of this difficult topic is pieced together with expert interviews, dramatized reenactments, and documentary-archival footage. The film is educational in nature but also presents a painful account of the nation’s disintegration, the collapse of the middle class and moral values, and the hardships that have affected Serbian citizens—including the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić. This turbulent transition is illustrated through a narrative about the pyramid of drug trafficking, progressing from street-level sales by the gram, to kilogram-level operations involving extensive street networks, and culminating in high-volume trafficking by the ton, typical of large drug cartels. The world's roundest object played a role in this. I guess I'm just fascinated by how difficult it is to pin down a quantity like a kilogram. A physical object seemed like a good idea until the mass of the international prototype kilogram wasn't as constant as expected. These methods of the Kibble balance and silicon sphere have shown better precision than 20 parts per billion, making them superior to the old method. REČ REDITELJA JANKA BALJKA Sa iskustvom autora koji je imao taj čudesni flash filma „Vidimo se u čitulji“ koji je negde aktuelan i posle dvadeset godina, prihvatio sam ideju da se vratim u priču o organizovanom kriminalu. Mnogo mi je više hrabrosti i radoznalosti bilo potrebno za priču o dostupnosti droge maloletnicima. Jer pored nekih stvari prolazimo svakodnevno, ali svesno ili nesvesno žmurimo ispred činjenica. Saznanja koja smo u otkrili u istraživanju bila su više nego šokantna. Mene je, kao roditelja tri ćerke u kritičnim godinama, dodatno porazilo saznanje o tome koliko se starosna granica za prosečnog konzumenta droge spustila – na svega 14 godina. Ali informacija koja me je zakucala za stolicu je da najmađi registrovani korisnik heroina u Lazarevcu ima 12 godina. Motivaciju i rediteljsku viziju za ovu temu nažalost nisam dugo tražio. Synopsis: Twelve young interviewees, currently serving sentences for drug-related offenses, share their stories of entering a vicious cycle that is difficult to escape. Alongside accounts from residents of the Juvenile Correctional Facility in Kruševac and the Juvenile Penitentiary in Valjevo, the intricate puzzle of this difficult topic is pieced together with expert interviews, dramatized reenactments, and documentary-archival footage. The film is educational in nature but also presents a painful account of the nation’s disintegration, the collapse of the middle class and moral values, and the hardships that have affected Serbian citizens—including the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić. Kilogram

The kilogram or kilogramme (SI unit symbol: kg), is the base unit of mass in the International System of Units (SI) (the Metric system) and is defined as being equal to the mass of the International Prototype of the Kilogram (IPK, also known as "La Grande K" or "Big K").

The gram, 1/1000th of a kilogram, was originally defined in 1795 as the mass of one cubic centimeter of water at the melting point of water. The original prototype kilogram, manufactured in 1799 and from which the IPK is derived, had a mass equal to the mass of 1.000028 dm³ of water at its maximum density at approximately 4 °C.

The kilogram is the only SI base unit with an SI prefix ("kilo", symbol "k") as part of its name. It is also the only SI unit that is still directly defined by an artifact rather than a fundamental physical property that can be reproduced in different laboratories. Three other base units (Cd, A, mol) and 17 derived units (N, Pa, J, W, C, V, F, Ω, S, Wb, T, H, kat, Gy, Sv, lm, lx) in the SI system are defined relative to the kilogram, so its stability is important. Only 8 other units do not require the kilogram in their definition: temperature (K, °C), time and frequency (s, Hz, Bq), length (m), and angle (rad, sr).
