Colbie Marie Caillat (i/ˈkoʊlbi kəˈleɪ/; born May 28, 1985) is an American pop singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist from Malibu, California. She debuted in 2007 with Coco, which included hit singles "Bubbly" and "Realize". In 2008, she recorded a duet with Jason Mraz, "Lucky", which won a Grammy. Caillat released her second album, Breakthrough, in August 2009. Breakthrough was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2010 Grammy Awards. She was also part of the group that won Album of the Year at the 2010 Grammys for her background vocals and writing on Taylor Swift's Fearless album.
Caillat has sold over 6 million albums worldwide and over 10 million singles. In 2009, she was named Billboard magazine's 94th-best-selling music artist of the 2000s. In 2011, she released her third studio album, All of You. On October 23, 2012 she released her first Christmas album, Christmas in the Sand.
Caillat was born in Malibu, California, and grew up in Newbury Park, California. Her father, Ken Caillat, co-produced Fleetwood Mac's Rumours (1977) and Tusk (1979) albums. When she was an infant, her parents gave her the nickname "Coco", which she would later name her debut album. Caillat took piano lessons as a child, but lacked significant inspiration until she turned 11 years old, when she became enthralled with Lauryn Hill's performance in Sister Act 2. She realized that she wanted to be a singer, and began taking vocal lessons, performing onstage for the first time in sixth grade. Since then she has covered the Roberta Flack song "Killing Me Softly", which had previously been covered by Lauryn Hill, and Hill's own "Tell Him".
The Beach Boys' Christmas Album is the seventh studio album by the Beach Boys, released in November 1964. Containing five original songs and seven standards, the album proved to be a long-running success during subsequent Christmas seasons, initially reaching number six in the US Billboard 200 chart in its year of release and eventually going gold.
While leader Brian Wilson produced and arranged the "rock" songs, he left it to Dick Reynolds (an arranger for the Four Freshmen, a group Wilson idolized) to arrange the forty-one piece orchestral backings on the traditional songs to which the Beach Boys would apply their vocals. One single was released from the album, the original song "The Man with All the Toys" backed with the group's rendition of "Blue Christmas". "Little Saint Nick", a single which had already been released the previous year, was included on the album.
In 1977, the Beach Boys attempted to follow the album with Merry Christmas from the Beach Boys, but it was rejected by their label. The entire Christmas Album plus selections from the Merry Christmas sessions were later assembled for the 1998 compilation Ultimate Christmas.
Merry Christmas, Baby, is the first Christmas album by Rod Stewart, released on 30 October 2012. The album has proved to be a top 10 success in many countries including the UK, US, Canada and Australia. It was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in November 2012 with over 1,000,000 copies sold in the US.
Merry Christmas, Baby received mixed reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 53, which indicates "mixed or average reviews", based on 6 reviews.
Merry Christmas, Baby debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album sales chart, with first week sales of 117,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan, and spent a total of eight weeks in the top 10. With total U.S. sales of 858,000 copies in 2012 according to SoundScan, Merry Christmas, Baby was the best-selling Christmas/holiday album of the year. The album was also the year's fifteenth best-selling album in the U.S. according to Billboard and the ninth best-selling physical album in the U.S. according to the Nielsen Company's 2012 Music Industry Report.
"Merry Christmas Baby" is an R&B Christmas standard written by Lou Baxter and Johnny Moore and originally recorded in 1947 by Johnny Moore's Three Blazers, featuring singer/pianist Charles Brown. It has been covered by many artists including Chuck Berry, Otis Redding, B.B. King, Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Melissa Etheridge, and Hanson. A version of this song, recorded by Bonnie Raitt and Charles Brown, is included on the Christmas album A Very Special Christmas 2, released in 1992.
Johnny Moore's Three Blazers was one of the hottest blues attractions on the West Coast when their recording of "Merry Christmas Baby" reached position #3 on Billboard's R&B Juke Box chart during the Christmas of 1947. Accompanying guitarist Moore for the recording session were bassist Eddie Williams, guitarist Oscar Moore (then of the King Cole Trio), and singer/pianist Charles Brown.

Written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love of The Beach Boys, "Little Saint Nick" was originally sung by The Beach Boys and released in December of 1963. The tune mimics The Beach Boys' hit song "Little Deuce Coupe" (1963, written by Brian Wilson and Roger Christian). This song has been covered by several different artists, the original is still my favorite. *I do not own the rights to any material used in this video.
The little things you do to me
Are taking me over, I wanna show ya
Everything inside of me
Oh, like a nervous heart that is crazy beating
My feet are stuck here against the pavement
I wanna break free, I wanna make it
Closer to your eyes, get your attention
Before you pass me by
Back up, back up, take another chance
Don?t you mess up, mess up, I don?t wanna lose you
Wake up, wake up, this ain't just a thing that you
Give up, give up, don?t you say that I?d be
Better off, better off, sleeping by myself and wondering
If I'm better off, better off without you boy
And every time, you notice me
By holding me closely and saying sweet things
I don't believe that it could be
You speaking your mind and saying the real thing
My feet have broke free and I am leaving
I'm not gonna stand here, feeling lonely
But I don't regret it and I don't think
It was just a waste of time
Back up, back up, take another chance
Don?t you mess up, mess up, I don?t wanna lose you
Wake up, wake up, this ain't just a thing that you
Give up, give up, don?t you say that I?d be
Better off, better off, sleeping by myself and wondering
If I'm better off, better off without you boy
Don't just leave me hanging on
Don't just leave me hanging on
The little things, you do to me
Are taking me over, I wanna show ya
Everything inside of me
Oh, like a nervous heart that is crazy beating
My feet are stuck here against the pavement
I wanna break free, I wanna make it
Closer to your eyes, get your attention
Before you pass me by
Don't just leave me hanging on
Back up, back up, take another chance
Don?t you mess up, mess up, I don?t wanna lose you
Wake up, wake up, this ain't just a thing that you
Give up, give up, don?t you say that I?d be
Better off, better off, sleeping by myself and wondering
If I'm better off, better off without you boy
Don't just leave me hanging on
Don't just leave me hanging on
(The little things, all of the things you do to me)
Don't just leave me hanging on
(Drivin' me crazy crazy, yeah yeah, drivin' me crazy)
Don't just leave me hanging on
(The little things, all of the things you do to me)
