Medici Villas and Gardens in Tuscany - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The UNESCO World Heritage site of the Medici Villas and Gardens in Tuscany is a collection of twelve villas, country estates and two manicured gardens adjacent to the city of Florence, and across the countryside of Tuscany. Constructed while the Medici Family was at the height of their power between the 14th and 17th centuries, the villas represent an interesting half-way point between typical agricultural aristocratic landholdings, and the large fortified estates of the past.
