Matthew Stevens (born 11 September 1977) is a Welsh professional snooker player. Stevens has won two of the game's most prestigious events, the Benson and Hedges Masters in 2000 and the UK Championship in 2003. He has also been the runner-up in the World Snooker Championship on two occasions, in 2000 and 2005. Stevens reached a career high ranking of No. 4 for the 2005/2006 season. As a prolific break-builder, Stevens has compiled more than 250 century breaks during his career.

Biography
Stevens was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and studied piano and guitar at a young age. Since graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2004, Stevens has established himself in the contemporary jazz scene performing and recording with numerous artists including Christian Scott,Terri Lyne Carrington, and Esperanza Spalding.
Regarded to be one of "most exciting up-and-coming jazz guitarists" in his generation, Stevens was placed in the Rising Star Guitar Category of the 63rd Annual DownBeat Critics Poll. His performances have been esteemed by numerous publications including Down Beat, NPR, Jazz Times,Billboard, and the New York Times.
His debut album as a leader, Woodwork, received stellar reviews from critics including Down Beat,All About Jazz and the Ottawa Citizen.LA Weekly describes the album as "an amalgamation of modern jazz and neo-fusion elements which showcase...sonic versatility and savvy producing chops".
Matthew John Hamilton Stevens (born 1 October 1982) is a South African-born English international rugby union player, who plays at prop for French Top 14 side Toulon.
He can cover both sides of the scrum and most of his England caps have come at tighthead. He formerly played for Bath Rugby club. In 2009 after a positive drugs test, he was banned from the game for two years.

Born 1 October 1982 in Durban, South Africa, Stevens was educated at Kearsney College, South Africa and played his youth rugby in that country, earning representative honours for Western Province, South African Universities and the Junior Springboks at Under 18 and Under 19 level, before deciding to move to England to pursue his university studies.
Bath
He joined Bath in September 2002 and gained attention towards the end of the 2002–03 season, making five appearances as a substitute. He put in strong performances coming off the bench for Bath early in the following season as the pack dominated all opposition.
