Marie Magdalene "Marlene" Dietrich (/mɑːrˈleɪnəˈdiːtrɪk/, German pronunciation: [maɐˈleːnə ˈdiːtʁɪç]; 27 December 1901 – 6 May 1992) was a German-American actress and singer.
Dietrich maintained popularity throughout her unusually long show business career by continually re-inventing herself, professionally and characteristically. In 1920s Berlin, she acted on the stage and in silent films. Her performance as Lola-Lola in The Blue Angel (1930), directed by Josef von Sternberg, brought her international fame resulting in a contract with Paramount Pictures. Dietrich starred in Hollywood films such as Morocco (1930), Shanghai Express (1932) and Desire (1936). Dietrich successfully traded on her glamorous persona and "exotic" (to Americans) looks, cementing her super-stardom and becoming one of the highest-paid actresses of the era.
Dietrich became a U.S. citizen in 1939, and throughout World War II she was a high-profile frontline entertainer. Although she still made occasional films after World War II, Dietrich spent most of the 1950s to the 1970s touring the world as a marquee live-show performer. Dietrich was noted for her humanitarian efforts during the War, housing German and French exiles, providing financial support, and even advocating for their US citizenship. For her work improving morale on the front lines in WWII, she received honors from the US, France, Belgium, and Israel. In 1999, the American Film Institute named Dietrich the ninth-greatest female star of classic Hollywood cinema.
The Blue is a central market place in Bermondsey an area in London. The market is open Monday to Saturday from 9am until 5pm and has about 10 stall holders, selling food and clothes. The area has been known as The Blue for more than two hundred and thirty years and is probably named after the original Blue Anchor public house that gave its name to Blue Anchor Lane. The market has capacity for 24 stalls.
Immediately north of Blue Anchor Lane on an arched viaduct are the multiple railway tracks of the Brighton and South East Main Lines. The Blue Anchor Lane joins St. James's Road where the viaduct arches to the immediate north west contain the remnants of the disused Spa Road railway station which was the original terminus of London's first railway.
In 2005 a Metropolitan Police report described the area as a crime hotspot for "race crime and youth disorder". In 2009 during the funeral procession of Jade Goody a white dove was released at The Blue, where her family once had a stall.
The Blue is the seventh studio album by the Italian progressive doom/gothic metal band Novembre.
Sea of Tranquility described the album as a continuation of the sound experiment on Materia with the addition of a heavier approach, especially in the vocal department.
A Rhyme & Reason is the debut album by Against All Will recorded at Korn Studios and released on October 20, 2009. Songs "All About You" and "The Drug I Need" ranked in the national rock radio top 50 in 2010.
The Blue Angel (German: Der blaue Engel) is a 1930 German tragicomedic film directed by Josef von Sternberg and starring Emil Jannings, Marlene Dietrich and Kurt Gerron. Written by Carl Zuckmayer, Karl Vollmöller and Robert Liebmann – with uncredited contributions by Sternberg. It is based on Heinrich Mann's 1905 novel Professor Unrat (Professor Garbage), and set in Weimar Germany. The Blue Angel presents the tragic transformation of a man from a respectable professor to a cabaret clown, and his descent into madness. The film is the first feature-length German full-talkie, and brought Dietrich international fame. In addition, it introduced her signature song, Friedrich Hollaender and Robert Liebmann's "Falling in Love Again (Can't Help It)". It is considered to be a classic of German cinema.
The film was shot simultaneously in German- and English-language versions, although the latter version was thought lost for many years. The German version is considered to be "obviously superior"; it is longer and not marred by actors struggling with their English pronunciation.
The Blue Angel is a 1959 American drama film in CinemaScope directed by Edward Dmytryk. The film is a remake of Josef von Sternberg's 1930 film The Blue Angel about cabaret singer Lola-Lola (Marlene Dietrich) and the troubled, aged Professor Rath (Emil Jannings), who falls for her much to his own detriment.
Professor Immanuel Rath (Curt Jurgens) is shocked to discover a number of his students have been frequenting a nightspot called the Blue Angel, where a scandalous entertainer named Lola (May Britt) performs. Rath attends the show one night in order to catch some of his boys in this den of wickedness, but he is soon drawn into Lola's sensual spell, and in time becomes involved in an obsessive romance with her that costs him his job, his savings and his dignity.
The Blue Angel is an original novel written by Paul Magrs and Jeremy Hoad and based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It features the Eighth Doctor, Fitz, Compassion and Iris Wildthyme.

A noise was heard by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 1997 and it bewildered researchers for years. The sound was heard in a very remote portion of the Pacific ocean near the southern tip of South America and was detected by several hydrophone arrays. Hydrophones are essentially underwater microphones and the NOAA had several series of them set up autonomously to capture mysterious sounds just like this. The first autonomous array was used in the cold war to detect Soviet submarines. Usually, researchers would use the sounds recorded to learn about seismic activity and marine animals, but the mysterious bloop was something different. The NOAA described the noise as rising rapidly in frequency over about one minute and was of sufficient amplitude to be heard ...

My oh my it's a quarter to eight
Don't shoot me down dreamboat I'm a late date
Don't ask me no questions I ain't got a smooth line,
Please a' wait a little longer tryin' to make it there on time
Tickety tock, oh the clock don't stop
Lazy, dizzy, daisy it's a quarter to whoops, uh, oh
Doin' nothing honey just a' thinkin' of you
So don't you give me no suggestions
while I ain't got the time
Won't ya move a little closer and a kiss
me one more time
Tickety tock, oh the clock don't stop
It doesn't matter cause
I know that you would love me too-
