Mark Little (born 20 October 1959, Brisbane, Queensland) is an Australian actor, television presenter and comedian.
Career
Little appeared in a string of Australian films and TV series during the 1980s. He also performed his own comedy/performance in Melbourne's burgeoning comedy clubs throughout the eighties. His longest-running television role was as Joe Mangel in the soap opera Neighbours. He played the role for three years until 1991. The role gave his profile a big boost in the United Kingdom where Neighbours was being watched by ten million people every day at the time. He consequently has spent much of his career in the UK, living for much of the time near the seafront in Brighton and recently moving to North London.
After playing for the University of Memphis in college, Little was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 8th round of the 1994 amateur draft. Little played four years in the Rangers minor league system, getting as high as Triple-A, before being traded on August 9, 1998, along with Darren Oliver and Fernando Tatís to the St. Louis Cardinals for Royce Clayton and Todd Stottlemyre. Little was assigned to the Cardinals Triple-A affiliate, the Memphis Redbirds, before making his major league debut on September 12, 1998. In 2000, he led the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds with 22 stolen bases.
A free agent after the 2000 season, Little signed with the Colorado Rockies on November 7, 2000. 2002 saw Little get the most at bats in a single season of his entire career with 130; he did this playing for the Rockies, New York Mets, and Arizona Diamondbacks. He was acquired by the Mets along with John Thomson for Jay Payton, Mark Corey, and Robert Stratton. He was then dealt by the Mets to the Diamondbacks for P.J. Bevis. Little was released by the Diamondbacks on May 30, 2003, and signed with the Cleveland Indians on June 3, 2003. Little had his final 20 major league at bats playing for the Indians in 2004. He won the Governors' Cup with the Buffalo Bisons, the AAA affiliate of the Indians, in 2004. Released by Cleveland following the 2004 season, Little signed a minor league contract with the Florida Marlins on November 4, 2004. He played for the Marlins Triple-A affiliate, the Albuquerque Isotopes, during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, before retiring from Major League Baseball.
Mark Daniel Little (born 20 August 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays for Bristol City as a defender.
Career
Born in Worcester and educated at Nunnery Wood High School, Little began his career as a youth player in Wolves' Academy and played a major role in the side who made it to the last four of the FA Youth Cup in 2005. He signed a three-year professional contract in August 2005 and had become a regular in the reserve side by the end of the 2005–06 season, and featured as an unused substitute for the first team throughout April 2006.
He made his first team debut in the League Cup at Chesterfield on 23 August 2006. This was followed by his league debut off the bench (on the opposite flank at left-back) at Leeds United on 10 September 2006.
Little went on to feature regularly throughout the season but didn't manage to continue this in the 2007–08 campaign. He was sent out on loan to League One side Northampton Town for a month in January 2008, later extended to three months. After beginning the following season with his parent club, but without breaking into the first team, he again returned to Sixfields on loan until the end of October. In late 2009, Little went out on loan again, this time for two months at League Two side Chesterfield.
