Car Nicobar falls in between Little Andaman and Nancowrie. The area south to the Ten-degree channel comes under Car Nicobar headquarters. Car Nicobar is remarkably flat except for some cliffs in the north and small hilly areas in the interior. It is bordered by a silvery beach and areas of flat ground consisting of coraline diluvium. It is a flat fertile island covered with cluster of coconut palms and enchanting beaches with a roaring sea all around.
Compared to the Middle Andaman and South Andaman, Car Nicobar is a small island, having only 127km². There are 15 villages, the largest of which is named U-rèk-ka (called "Malacca" for tourists), with a population of 4,314.
The climate of Car Nicobar Island is tropical, as it is just 9 degree from the equator, with an annual rainfall of 400mm. The data of past ten year shows that the mean relative humidity in the Island is 79%, and the mean maximum temperature is of 30.20 C, and mean minimum temperature is 23.00 C.
According to the 2011 census of India, Malacca has 368 households. The effective literacy rate (i.e. the literacy rate of population excluding children aged 6 and below) is 77.9%.
It borders Negeri Sembilan to the north and Johor to the south. The capital is Malacca City, which is 148 kilometres (92 miles) south east of Malaysia's capital city Kuala Lumpur, 235 kilometres (146 miles) north west of Johor's largest city Johor Bahru, and 95km (59 miles) north west of Johor's second largest city, Batu Pahat. This historical city centre has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 7 July 2008.
Although it was the location of one of the earliest Malay sultanates, the local monarchy was abolished when the Portuguese conquered it in 1511. The head of state is the Yang di-Pertua Negeri or Governor, rather than a Sultan.
History
Sultanate of Malacca
Before the arrival of the first Sultan, Malacca was a fishing village inhabited by local Malays known as Orang Laut. Malacca was founded by Parameswara, also known as Iskandar Shah or Sri Majara, the last Raja of Temasek (present day Singapore) following a Majapahit attack in 1377. He found his way to Malacca around 1400 where he found a good port—it was accessible in all seasons and on the strategically located narrowest point of the Malacca Straits.
During World War II, it was occupied by the Japanese from 1942 to 1945. After the post-war dissolution of the Straits Settlements Penang and Malacca become crown colonies in the Federation of Malaya, while Singapore became a standalone crown colony, separate from Malaya. In 1955, Tunku Abdul Rahman held a meeting with the British to discuss the end of British rule in Malacca with a merger with Malayan Union (which was then replaced by Federation of Malaya). On 31 August 1957, when Malaya achieved its independence from the United Kingdom, Malacca was integrated as part of the federation, which later known as Malaysia when it merged with another territories in Borneo.

This video was recorded by Seth Wyatt in the Andaman and Nicobar islands of India. Nicobarese is spoken primarily in the Nicobar Islands in the southeastern Bay of Bengal. There are four dialects of Nicobarese — Car is the most widely used dialect, and is the one spoken in this video. Car has distant genealogical ties to Vietnamese and Khmer, two other Austro-Asiatic languages, but it has formed a Sprachbund with neighboring unrelated languages such as Nias and Acehnese in which unrelated languages may share typological features within a region. Captions are not yet available, but here is a video summary: Kitty asks Anmay about her family, as in how they are and what animals they are raising. She also asks what food Anmay had for breakfast (paratha) and where she went to school (an English-medium place in Hut Bay).
