Magical Pop'n(Japanese:マジカル ポップン,Hepburn:Majikaru Poppun) is a two-dimensional video game developed by Polestar and published by Pack-In-Video for the Super Famicom. The game tells the story of a girl referred to as "Princess" who sets out to retrieve a magic gem that was stolen by the Demon King when her kingdom was invaded.
Gameplay
The game is a side-scroller which is divided into six stages. The player starts with a three-heart life gauge and one spell attack. The player can increase Princess's lives by collecting golden tokens (which look like the Princess's face), gaining one life for every three coins collected. The player can also increase health by finding heart containers in treasure chests. Spells can be obtained throughout the game and are important for advancing further.
Development
The Princess's voice was provided by Japanese media personality Ai Iijima. The box art was created by Takami Akai.
Pop'n Music(ポップンミュージック Poppun Myūjikku), commonly abbreviated as Pop'n, PM or PNM and stylized as pop'n music, is a music video game series in the Bemani series made by the Konami Corporation. The games are known for their bright colors, upbeat songs, and cartoon character graphics. Originally released in 1998, the series has had over fifteen home releases in Japan as well as many arcade versions.
