There had been some discussion of merging the Kowloon–Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC), which was also government-owned, and the MTR to make the territory's transport system more efficient. The MTRCL backed such a merge while the KCRC opposed the plan. In March 2004, the Hong Kong Government officially encouraged the two companies to merge.
On 11 April 2006, the Hong Kong Government officially announced the details of the proposed merger. Under the non-binding Memorandum of Understanding the Government has signed with KCRC, KCRC would grant a Service Concession to the MTRCL to operate the KCR system, with an initial period of 50 years. The KCRC would receive a one-time upfront payment of HK$4.25billion, a fixed annual payment of HK$750million and a variable annual payment based on revenues generated from operation of the KCR system. In addition, MTRCL would make a payment of $7.79billion for the acquisition of property and other related commercial interests.
The railway lines the KCRC operated were less profitable than the MTRC, and the KCRC was less active in property development. It was widely considered that the Government's choice was to avoid being criticised for selling assets of the KCRC, which it wholly owned to MTRCL at an underpriced level. Leasing the operation right of the KCR system to the MTRCL could avoid actually selling the KCRC.
My traceroute, originally named Matt's traceroute (MTR) is a computer program which combines the functions of the traceroute and ping programs in one network diagnostic tool.
MTR probes routers on the route path by limiting the number of hops individual packets may traverse, and listening to responses of their expiry. It will regularly repeat this process, usually once per second, and keep track of the response times of the hops along the path.
History
The original Matt's traceroute program was written by Matt Kimball in 1997. Roger Wolff took over maintaining MTR (renamed My traceroute) in October 1998.
MTR relies on Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) Time Exceeded (type 11, code 0) packets coming back from routers, or ICMP Echo Reply packets when the packets have hit their destination host. MTR also has a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) mode (invoked with "-u" on the command line or pressing the "u" key in the curses interface) that sends UDP packets, with the time to live (TTL) field in the IP header increasing by one for each probe sent, toward the destination host. When the UDP mode is used, MTR relies on ICMP port unreachable packets (type 3, code 3) when the destination is reached.
The MTU Turbomeca Rolls-Royce MTR390 is a turboshaft developed for light helicopter applications by MTU Turbomeca Rolls-Royce (MTR). The engine is designed to power helicopters in the weight range of 5-7 tonnes in both single and twin engine configurations. So far the only application is the Eurocopter Tiger. Test runs of the MTR390 began in 1989 and the first test flight was performed in 1991. The MTR390 received military certification in May 1996 and civil approval in June 1997.
An uprated version, the MTR390-E (Enhanced), is being developed with Spain's ITP.
Melbourne Talk Radio (callsign 3MP) was a radio station in Melbourne that commenced broadcasting on 19 April 2010 until its closure on 2 March 2012. It replaced, and was later succeeded by, 3MP, which used the 1377kHz frequency. The station's transmitter is located in the suburb of Rowville and broadcasts at 5kW.
History
In December 2009, existing operator Pacific Star Network and Macquarie Radio Network, the owner of top rating Sydneytalkback radio station 2GB, agreed to create the joint-venture 'Melbourne Radio Operations Pty Ltd', to supply radio programming in the Melbourne market. In April 2010, the two signed an interim agreement to launch right-wing talkback station MTR 1377 - replacing 3MP on AM radio - to compete against incumbent 3AW.
At the station's launch on 7 April 2010, breakfast presenter and Program Director Steve Price promised the station would be "in your face, controversial, opinionated".
The station's office was in Swan Street, Richmond, in the same location as its sister station, sports-focused SEN.
Mersey 106.7 was a commercial radio service for the Knowsley area just outside Liverpool, England
Origins
KCR 106.7 was originally launched by Steve Dickson and Ray Ferguson, with financial backing of Chrysalis. It was sold to The Local Radio Company (TLRC) who embarked upon a rebranding and relaunch. In 2006, it was sold back to Ray Ferguson who reverted to the name KCR, and having to sell the station again, this time to Polaris Media in August 2008 but the sale was reneged two months later with KCR Media (Previous owners) using a clause to gain the company and station back after finding another person willing to back the ill faited venture.
The Rocket
During the period between the takeover and the relaunch, many of the original volunteer presenters and some minority specialist music shows were taken off the air, and replaced with paid professionals.
The Rocket broadcast TLRC's Musicfunlife format. The name 'Rocket' refers to Stephenson's Rocket, a locomotive which was the first passenger locomotive in the world, after winning the 'Rainhill Trials'.
KCR College Radio a student-run, online radio station located on the first floor of the communication building on the campus of San Diego State University in San Diego, California. KCR is a program of Associated Students at San Diego State University.
Operations and broadcasting
In continuous operation since 1969, KCR's original broadcasts took place over cable systems. This was followed by AM as well as FM band transmission before it started broadcasting by way of 1610 AM in the college community area. It can currently be heard on local digital cable channels Cox 956 and TWC 957, and in the SDSU dorms on HD 81-61. It also streams to a KCR College Radio Android App, the TuneIn Radio app, and a Shoutcast player on kcr.sdsu.edu.
KCR can be heard playing in University Towers Kitchen and Cuicacalli Dining Hall on SDSU's campus, and Pizza Boss on College Square.
History
KCR Radio has long been considered one of the nation’s original college radio stations. It's free-form music format provided a launching pad for then undiscovered musical talents like the Police, the Clash, REM, Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails. KCR has recently changed from a free-form, music only format to a block schedule with music, talk, sports, and other programming.

How to use the MTR tool (Traceroute) on Linux & Windows | VPS Tutorial
For a system administrator, monitoring the stable operation of the system is an extremely important thing, for systems deploying online services, the top issue is the network. To be able to monitor the online status, sending/receiving packages usually system administrators use command lines such as ping, and traceroute to see if the transmission of packages on the network through points is stable or not. Instead of using single commands and having to gather discrete parameters to analyze and make judgments, you can use specialized tools for network analysis.
