MTM Enterprises (later known as MTM Enterprises, Inc.) was an American independent production company established in 1969 by Mary Tyler Moore and her then-husband Grant Tinker to produce The Mary Tyler Moore Show for CBS. The name for the production company was drawn from Moore's initials.
MTM produced a number of successful television programs during the 1970s and 1980s. Its famous logo featured a meowing cat named Mimsie inside a circle surrounded by gold ribbons, similar to how Leo the Lion is featured in the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer logo. There have been many different variants of this logo.
For many years MTM, with CBS, co-owned the CBS Studio Center in Studio City, California, where a majority of their programs were filmed and videotaped. Most of MTM's series aired on CBS.
MTM Enterprises acquired Jim Victory Television in 1986, taking the MTM library with it. Victory was later reincorporated as MTM Television Distribution, which was folded into 20th Television after News Corporation bought MTM.

MTM Enterprises Gag Reel
Here is an assortment of outtakes from MTM Enterprises, now owned by Disney: The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, Phyllis, Rhoda and Paul Sand In Friends And Lovers. Two Writer/Producers are featured at the end. David Lloyd and Stan Daniels. Both made major contributions to sitcoms, but David Lloyd, whose son Christopher Lloyd co-created Modern Family, may be one of the top 10 comedy writers of all time. If you are watching an episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Taxi or one of the many sitcoms he worked on, there are two things you can count on if it was written by David Lloyd. It will be an original story and it will be very funny.

St. Elsewhere Final Episode Close/MTM Enterprises (1988) (No Voiceover)
Please watch my other stuff.
This is the infamous closing to the final episode of the NBC drama St. Elsewhere. It was only broadcast on the original airing and the subsequent first couple of reruns. Modern rebroadcasts replace it with the regular credits and "Scrubs Mimsie" variation of the logo. The rumor is that it was banned due to the outrage it caused.
What do you think? Is it misunderstood dark humor, or is it offensive and deserving of it's banishment?
Side note: This was originally uploaded by "ShadowtheHedgehog157" as "Goodnight, Mimsie" on November 25th, 2013. This was uploaded a couple of years later without the knowledge that it was already on here. The original upload (watch?v=nCSszVNqwh0) was taken down however.

MTM Enterprises Logo Variant ("The White Shadow" Pilot Episode) (1978)
This was a one time logo variant used by MTM Enterprises for the pilot episode of the CBS 1978-81 basketball drama "The White Shadow". This originally aired November 27, 1978.
While Mimsie The Cat doesn't appear, a black and white calico cat takes her place and bounces a basketball across the logo until it falls off screen.
