LEE MAJORS - Unknown Stuntman (Full-Length)
🎼 LYRICS:
“Well I'm not the kind to kiss and tell, but I've been seen with Farrah.
I've never been with anything less than a nine, so fine.”
“I've been on fire with Sally Field, gone fast with a girl named Bo.
But somehow they just don't end up as mine.”
“It's a death defying life I lead, I take my chances,
I'd die for a living in the movies and TV.
But the hardest thing I ever do is watch my leading ladies, kiss some other guy while I'm bandaging my knee.”
“I might fall from a tall building,
I might role a brand new car.
'Cause I'm the unknown stuntman who made Redford such a star.”
“I never spent much time in school but I taught ladies plenty, it's true I hire my body out for pay. Hey Hey!”
“I've gotten burned over Cheryl Tiegs,
blown up for Raquel Welch.
But when I wind up hittin...

Classic TV Theme: The Fall Guy
Usually when a show is created, the theme is written to reflect the show. But with 'The Fall Guy' it was the other way around. Producers already had the theme (written for a series that never got off the ground) now all they needed was the show to build around it. And they got one that ran for five seasons. It had action and humor, plus occasional star cameos. And that theme song - by David Somerville, Gail Jensen, and Glen Larson - stuck around for the entire run. The visuals under it did change a bit, so we have two opening title sequences (one includes the first-season explainer narrated by Majors), plus two end credits rolls with different arrangements. At first the singer was identified as Colt Seavers (Majors' character name) but in later seasons it read 'Lee Majors'.

But when I wind up hittin' the hay, it's only hay. Hey Hey!”
“I might jump an open drawbridge,
or Tarzan from a vine.
'Cause I'm the unknown stuntman who made Eastwood look so fine.”
“They'll never make me president but I've got the best first ladies,
some days I've got 'em as far as the eye can see.
A morning dive with Jackie Smith, I crash in the night with Cheryl,
but in the end, they never stay with me.”
“And I might fall from a tall building so Burt Reynolds don't get hurt,
I might leap a mighty canyon so he can kiss and flirt.
While that smoth talker's kissin' my girl I'm just kissin' dirt,
yes, I'm the lonely stuntman that made a lover out of Burt.”
📼 INFO:
Full version of the theme to 1980s TV show 'The Fall Guy' which was trimmed to roughly half its length to accompany the opening credits. As luck would have it, though, a mash-up of the clip sequences for Series One and Three fits the extended audio precisely.
The self-deprecating vocals were released as a single by the star and co-producer Lee Majors (still in remarkably good shape and getting regular parts at the age of 83) in the role of stuntman and bounty-hunter ‘Colt Seavers’ - so the video concludes with a sentence or two from a recent documentary [Fun-Fact: the track was also used as the theme to the 'Craig Ferguson Radio Show'].

Lee’s father passed away only weeks before he was born, which was something that would have been bad enough on its own. However, tragedy continued when a drunk driver killed Lee’s mother when the young boy was only three years old. After Lee’s mother was killed, the boy was forced to go live with his aunt and uncle in Kentucky. Despite the tragic circumstances of their coming together, Lee’s makeshift family proved incredibly loving and helped the young boy overcome his tragic past.
More trouble came when a serious back injury put an end to Lee’s promising college football career. Lee had been such a great college athlete that he had even been considering becoming a football player professionally, but the back injury put an end to these hopes and dreams. Luckily, his college’s drama coach had taken a liking to Lee and encouraged him to take part in a theater production.
Lee ended up liking acting so much that he decided that was going to be his career instead. Lee was married and had a child at the time, and subsequently moved his family to Hollywood in hopes of striking it big. Lee’s wife ended up moving back to Kentucky with their child a year before Lee was given his first major break on television. Join Facts Verse as we reveal the tragic real-life story of Lee Majors.

The Six Million Dollar Man is an American science fiction and action television series about a former astronaut, Colonel Steve Austin, portrayed by American actor Lee Majors. Austin has superhuman strength due to bionic implants and is employed as a secret agent by a fictional U.S. government office named OSI The series was based on the Martin Caidin novel Cyborg, which. was the working title of the series during pre-production.
Following three television pilot movies, which all aired in 1973, the The Six Million Dollar Man aired on the ABC network as a regular episodic series for five seasons from 1974 to 1978. Steve Austin became a pop culture icon of the 1970s. A spin-off television series, The Bionic Woman, featuring the lead female character Jaime Sommers, ran from 1976 to 1978 (and was the subject of a remake in 2007). Three television movies featuring both bionic characters were also produced from 1987 to 1994.
When NASA astronaut Steve Austin is severely injured in the crash of an experimental lifting body aircraft, he is "rebuilt" in an operation that costs six million dollars. His right arm, both legs and the left eye are replaced with "bionic" implants that enhance his strength, speed and vision far above human norms: he can run at speeds of 60 mph (97 km/h), and his eye has a 20:1 zoom lens and infrared capabilities, while his bionic limbs all have the equivalent power of a bulldozer. He uses his enhanced abilities to work for the OSI (Office of Scientific Intelligence) as a secret agent.

Colt Seavers was known as The Fall Guy of Hollywood, a stuntman who uses his skills and knowledge of stunt effects to moonlight as a bounty hunter. Yeah, Watch out, Dog!
Colt was known for using his gorgeous striped GMC $X4 pickup to help nab fugitives or innocent persons needed for questioning. Sometimes the trouble would find him, even coming from space to do so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rW1q6uox_hs [PLAY 11:10 - ]
But Colt would see through the gimmicks, the magic of moviemaking allowing him to see through the BS. Colt was always accompanied by his cousin Howie, and aided by the beautiful bail bondswoman, Terri Michaels - and, of course, his fellow stuntwoman Jody Banks. This show was action packed, with great detective plotlines, as well as a behind the scene glimpse into Hollywood. For those of us enthralled by film and TV, this show let us go behind the curtain, with our favorite action hero guiding the way, Mr. Lee Majors. And the crooning theme song that set the mood, was of course sung by Lee Majors himself, even becoming a minor hit in the early 80s.
I’m your host Nostalgic Nick and today we’re finding out what these bounty hunters got into, after taking in their final badguy. Movies and TV for you all today (29/01), starting with a birthday shoutout to Tom Selleck. Tom was very busy in the 80s spending most of the decade as Magnum P.I. but here he is, as himself, in a little cameo in TV series The Fall Guy in 1982. Yes that is Lee Majors in a dress. Tom is still gracing our TVs currently starring in season 12 of Blue Bloods. Happy Birthday Tom.

Did you know that Lee Majors is married to a woman several decades younger than him and that he and Farrah Fawcett commemorated their divorce by spending a romantic night in Atlanta? At the time that Lee Majors and Farrah Fawcett got married, neither was as famous as they were soon going to be. Lee was a notable television star, but The Six Million Dollar Man was soon going to turn him into a household name. Meanwhile, Farrah was just a fledgling model with vague dreams of making it to the screen someday. Farrah had it written in her modeling contracts that she would be home in time to make Lee dinner. However, this wouldn’t be a possibility when Farrah was hired onto Charlie’s Angels.
Lee and Farrah got married in 1973, which was the same year that The Six Million Dollar Man was introduced to the world. Though the series proper didn’t start until 1974, the first made-for-television feature premiered in 1973. Meanwhile, Charlie’s Angels came on the air in 1976. When this happened, Lee and Farrah had almost no time to spend together, leading to their divorce. Join Facts Verse as Lee Majors confirms the sad reason for Farrah Fawcett's divorce.
