It is the UK's only orchestra that has its own hall. The society is the second oldest of its type in the United Kingdom and its orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, is the country's longest-surviving professional orchestra. In addition to the orchestra, the society administers the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir. the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and other choirs and ensembles. It is involved in educational and community projects in Liverpool and its surrounding region. The society and its members have won a number of honours and awards and played an important role when Liverpool was the European Capital of Culture in 2008. It is based in the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, an art deco concert hall built in the late 1930s.
Liverpool (/ˈlɪvərpuːl/) is a city in Merseyside, England. A borough from 1207 and a city from 1880, in 2014 the city local government district had a population of 470,537 and the Liverpool/Birkenhead metropolitan area had a population of 2,241,000.
Liverpool is in the south west of the historic county of Lancashire in North West England, on the eastern side of the Mersey Estuary. The town historically lay within the ancient Lancashire division of West Derby known as a "hundred".
The urbanisation and expansion of the city were largely brought about by its advantageous location during the industrial revolution status that led to its growth as a major port, which included its participation in the Atlantic slave trade. Liverpool was the port of registry of the ocean liner RMS Titanic, and many other Cunard and White Star ocean liners such as the RMS Lusitania, Queen Mary, and Olympic. Liverpool's status as a port city has contributed to its diverse population, which, historically, was drawn from a wide range of peoples, cultures, and religions, particularly those from Ireland. The city is also home to the oldest Black African community in the country and the oldest Chinese community in Europe.
Liverpool is a 2012 Canadian comedy crime film. Written and directed by Manon Briand, the film stars Stéphanie Lapointe as Émilie, a coat check clerk at a Montreal nightclub who decides to return a coat left behind one night by a woman who took a drug overdose in the club, only to find herself embroiled in the city's criminal underground. Her only ally in the quest is Thomas (Charles-Alexandre Dubé), a regular customer of the club and a potential new love interest for Émilie.
Liverpool was Briand's first film since 2002's Chaos and Desire.

Jean Sibelius, Finlandia performed by Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Vasily Petrenko
RLPO play Jean Sibelius masterpiece Finlandia
JEAN SIBELIUS Finlandia
Vasily Petrenko conductor
One of the great late-Romantic composers, who single handedly placed Finland on the musical map. And theres nothing more Finnish than Sibeliuss Finlandia.
Watch the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra tackle this Finnish masterpiece, performed at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in November 2009. Sibelius originally wrote this for a scenic piece called Finland Awakes, which was presented at the Swedish Theatre in Helsinki in protest against the drastic suppression of political freedom by Finlands Russian masters in the February Manifesto of 1899. The atmosphere of oppression would have been palpable enough for those who heard the piece, if not, the allusion to Emil Genetzs well-known...

Was Iain Dale's podcast right to be cancelled in Liverpool?
Liverpool Philharmonic Hall cancelled the live podcast recording of Iain Dale’s podcast For the Many, which along with former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, had the Labour MP Lisa Nandy as special guest. Now if you’re not aware of him, Iain Dale is a radio talk show host, with aspirations of becoming a politician, you might have heard his show on LBC or other outlets where he pops up as a political commentator and suchlike.
The reason he’s provoked some controversy here, is that previously he was the co-owner and managing director of Biteback Publishing which in 2016 published a book called Hillsborough Untold by Norman Bettison, a former inspector in the South Yorkshire Police at the time of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster. Incredibly, and not without its own controversy, Bettison later bec...

The Philharmonic Hall was correct in listening to locals on this issue and recognising the sensitivity here. Iain Dale needs to show some humility and understand the reasoning instead of crying about 'cancel culture'.
