Peter Edward Kirtley was born in Cuckfield, Sussex, England, but moved to Surrey at a young age. The younger of two children, his father, Al Kirtley, was a semi-professional musician who had at one time been a member of Zoot Money's Big Roll Band and later of Trendsetters Limited, and under contract to Parlophone Records. At the age of 11 he joined a band with Matt Goss, Luke Goss and Craig Logan who later formed the British band Bros. Kirtley was a keen amateur actor while at school, but at the age of 16 chose music as a career and became a professional drummer. For four years he was a member of The Blue, a band managed by Bob Herbert and his son Chris, the original managers of the Spice Girls. The Blue's only single, "Don't Leave Me Standing in the Pouring Rain", was released in 1992, but failed to enter the chart.
Little Children is a 2004 novel by American author Tom Perrotta that interweaves the darkly comedic stories of seven main characters, all of whom live in the same suburbanBoston neighborhood during the middle of a hot summer. The novel received critical praise, spurring The New York Times to declare Perrotta "an American Chekhov whose characters even at their most ridiculous seem blessed and ennobled by a luminous human aura." The novel was featured on numerous "Best Books of 2004" lists—including those of The New York Times Book Review, Newsweek, National Public Radio, and People magazine. In 2006, the novel was adapted into an Academy Award-nominated film of the same name.
Plot summary
Sarah, who once considered herself a radical feminist, wonders how she allowed herself to be reduced to a common housewife, constantly at the playground with three other neighborhood mothers whom she can't stand. Her husband, Richard, is much older than her and a sort of last alternative for her love life; it is even hinted that she married him only because she feared that she would be stuck in her dead-end job as a Starbucks barista forever if she didn't. When she discovers his addiction to internet pornography, she is more apathetic than disgusted.

Mutya Buena - Strung Out (Unreleased Pete Kirtley demo)
This demo version of Strung Out (aka the original mix) leaked well in advance of the Real Girl album release, resulting in the dramatically altered final album version produced by Jony Rockstar, as per Mutya's label's request. The track in its original Pete Kirtley produced form was included on Room 2012's debut album, released in Germany in 2007. Pre-Sugababes, Pete Kirtley served as Amelle's protégé, so a demo version of her take on Strung Out is also confirmed to exist, but has never leaked. Both Sugababes 2.0 and 3.0 apparently recorded the song (during the Taller In More Ways album sessions) too, but these versions have never seen the light of day.

there is a place I call the fall doctors and lawyers say it’s too small there’s dancing and singing and places to crawl children with triggers having a ball you watch out for that place, don’t ever go there you’ll walk in a circle, you’ll walk out a square everything sparkles, the ceiling’s so high a web sure looks pretty from the back of a fly little children trickling down my feet again chasing my toes and I only can pray for some luck to make the good ones stay and wait for the rain to flush the rest away so now that you’re told to go look for gold take one slave to carry it and one to be sold take up your money and travel to Spain no, not by airplane, and, no, not by train and the moment you get there just tell them all you know about tricksters and travellers and raindrops and snow little children trickling down my feet again chasing my toes and I only can pray for some luck to make the good ones stay and wait for the rain to flush the rest away little children trickling down my feet again chasing my toes and I only can pray for some luck to make the good ones stay
