10 Tallest Twin Buildings in the World
The international non-profit organization Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) was formed in 1969 and announces the title of "The World's Tallest Building" and sets the standards by which buildings are measured. It maintains a list of the 100 tallest completed buildings in the world. The organization currently ranks Burj Khalifa in Dubai as the tallest at 828 m (2,717 ft). The CTBUH only recognizes buildings that are complete, however, and some buildings listed within these list articles are not considered complete by the CTBUH.
Prior to 1998, the tallest building status was determined by the height of the building to the top of its architectural elements including spires, but not including "temporary" structures (such as antennas or flagpoles), which could be added or chan...

Insertion: World Trade Center (1973–2001)
It was a large complex of seven buildings in Lower Manhattan, New York City, United States. It featured landmark twin towers, which opened on April 4, 1973, and were destroyed in the September 11, 2001. At the time of their completion, the "Twin Towers" — the original 1 World Trade Center, at 1,368 feet (417 m); and 2 World Trade Center, at 1,362 feet (415 m) — were the tallest buildings in the world.
2. JW Marriott Marquis Dubai
It is the world's tallest hotel, a 76-story, 355 m (1,165 ft) twin-tower skyscraper complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The AED1.8 billion complex features a 1,608-room hotel run by Marriott International. The form is inspired by the date palm - a symbol deeply entrenched in the Arabian culture. The towers are symmetrically placed on the 7-storey high podium to get the best views of the Burj Khalifa, Business Bay and the sea.
3. Emirates Towers
It is a building complex located on the Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai that contains the Emirates Office Tower and Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel. The two towers, which rise to 355 m (1,165 ft) and 309 m (1,014 ft). A curiosity of the design is that the towers have a similar number of floors; the taller office tower actually contains 54 floors, while the hotel tower contains 56 floors. This is because the individual floor heights of the office tower are greater than that of the hotel.
4. Suzhou RunHua Global Center
Formerly named the SPG Global Towers, are a pair of skyscrapers in Suzhou, China. Building A is 282 m (925 ft) to the architectural tip with 49 floors, and is used mostly for office space, while tower B is 240 m (790 ft) to the architectural tip with 54 floors, and is residential. The towers bear a striking resemblance to the One Liberty Place skyscraper complex in Philadelphia, United States.
5. The Cullinan
It is a residential complex located in Hong Kong's Union Square. This prime waterfront residence has glass curtain walls and sweeping views of the Victoria Harbour. The glass facade gives the twin towers a futuristic look, matching the design language used on the nearby International Commerce Centre. This complex was named after the 3,106 carat (621.2 g) Cullinan Diamond found in 1905; the largest diamond in the world.
6. Al Kazim Towers
The Business Central Towers is a complex of two 53-floor towers in Dubai Media City in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Both towers have an equal total structural height of 265 meters (869 ft) and resemble New York City's Chrysler Building. Both towers were topped out in November 2007 and were completed in early 2008. Originally named the Al Kazim Tower Towers, the towers were renamed as the Business Central Towers, a more friendly name for all foreign companies in both buildings.
7. Grand Gateway Shanghai
It is an office complex consisting of two identical skyscrapers in the Xujiahui area of Shanghai, China. It was completed in 2005. The towers are the 71st tallest existing buildings in the world when measured up to the highest architectural point which is the top of the domes, making them a landmark in the area. Each tower is 262 m high and has 52 stories. The Grand Gateway 66 shopping mall is located at the base of the towers.
8. Bahrain Financial Harbour
Commonly abbreviated as BFH is a large-scale commercial development project in Manama, the capital of Bahrain. The commercial complex is located next to the King Faisal Highway, near many popular landmarks such as the Bahrain World Trade Center, Abraj Al Lulu, and the National Bank of Bahrain. The two tallest twin-towers (Commercial East and Commercial West) are currently listed as the tallest completed towers in Bahrain, with a height of 260 m (853 ft) with 53 floors.
9. The Imperial
It is a twin-tower residential skyscraper complex in Mumbai, India that are the tallest completed buildings in the country. The towers are located in Tardeo, South Mumbai. Construction was completed and the towers were inaugurated in 2010. Designed by Mumbai architect Hafeez Contractor as his most recognisable project to date, were designed as Mumbai’s tallest towers.
10. Angsana Hotel & Suites

Prior to 1998, the tallest building status was determined by the height of the building to the top of its architectural elements including spires, but not including "temporary" structures (such as antennas or flagpoles), which could be added or changed relatively easily without requiring major changes to the building's design. Other criteria for height measurement were not used.
The term twin towers in architecture refers to two tall structures with nearly identical characteristics and similar height. The charts below lists most twin and other multi-column structures with similar characteristics.
The following list includes only twin buildings that are continuously habitable.
1. Petronas Twin Towers (452 Meters) | KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA.
2. JW Marriott Marquis Dubai (355 Meters) | DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.
3. Emirates Towers (354 Meters) | DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.
4. Suzhou RunHua Global Center (286 Meters) | SUZHOU, CHINA.
5. Vitri Tower (281 Meters) | PANAMA CITY, PANAMA.
6. The Cullinan (270 Meters) | HONG KONG, HONG KONG.
7. Al Kazim Towers (265 Meters) | DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.
8. Grand Gateway Shanghai (262 Meters) | SHANGHAI, CHINA.
9. Bahrain Financial Harbour (260 Meters) | MANAMA, BAHRAIN.
10. The Imperial (256 Meters) | MUMBAI, INDIA.
