Levanga Hokkaido is a Japanese professional basketball team based in the city of Sapporo on the island of Hokkaido.
The club was founded in 2006 as Rera Kamuy Hokkaido, this name comes from the language of the Ainu, an ethnic group indigenous to Hokkaido, and means "god of the winds". The franchise changed its name twice in 2011; the first when the club's parent company was kicked out of the league due to financial woes in the season. The team ended the season with a league-backed management group and a new moniker, calling itself Basketball Club Hokkaido. And finally, took its current name Levanga Hokkaido, in August 2011.
The team debuted in the Japan Basketball League in the 2007-2008 season and is one of only three teams in the league not owned by a major Japanese manufacturing company.
Levanga plays its home games mainly at the Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center and the Tsukisamu Dome, but, as the team represents the entire Hokkaido Prefecture, also plays some home-games at the Atsubetsu Ward Gymnasium, Otaru City Gymnasium, Eniwa City Gymnasium, Obihiro City Gymnasium & Kushiro Shitsugen no Kaze Arena.
Hokkaido(北海道,Hokkaidō, literally "Northern Sea Circuit") (Japanese:[hokkaido]), formerly known as Ezo, Yezo, Yeso, or Yesso, is the 2nd largest island of Japan, and the largest and northernmost prefecture. The Tsugaru Strait separates Hokkaido from Honshu, although the two islands are connected by the underwater railway Seikan Tunnel. The largest city on Hokkaido is its capital, Sapporo, which is also its only ordinance-designated city.
History
Hokkaido was settled by the Ainu,Nivkh, and Orok peoples many years ago. The Nihon Shoki, finished in 720 AD, is often said to be the first mention of Hokkaido in recorded history. According to the text, Abe no Hirafu led a large navy and army to northern areas from 658 to 660 and came into contact with the Mishihase and Emishi. One of the places Hirafu went to was called Watarishima(渡島), which is often believed to be present-day Hokkaido. However, many theories exist in relation to the details of this event, including the location of Watarishima and the common belief that the Emishi in Watarishima were the ancestors of the present-day Ainu people.
Pink Floyd bootleg recordings are the collections of audio and video recordings of musical performances by the British rock band Pink Floyd, which were never officially released by the band. The recordings consist of both live performances and outtakes from studio sessions unavailable in official releases. In some cases, certain bootleg recordings may be highly prized among collectors, as at least 40 songs composed by Pink Floyd have never been officially released.
During the 1970s, bands such as Pink Floyd created a lucrative market for the mass production of unofficial recordings with large followings of fans willing to purchase them. In addition, the huge crowds that turned up to these concerts made the effective policing of the audience for the presence of recording equipment virtually impossible. Vast numbers of recordings were issued for profit by bootleg labels.
Some Pink Floyd bootlegs exist in several variations with differing sound quality and length because sometimes listeners have recorded different versions of the same performance at the same time. Pink Floyd was a group that protected its sonic performance, making recording with amateur recording devices difficult. In their career, Pink Floyd played over 1,300 concerts, of which more than 350 were released as bootlegged recordings (sometimes in various versions). Few concerts have ever been broadcast (or repeated once they were broadcast on television), especially during 'the golden age' of the group from 1966 to 1981.

Tasting Hokkaido's Secret Food Scene & Exploring Japan’s Snow Capital | DIRT Japan: Hokkaido
Shop gear from this episode of DIRT: https://bit.ly/4dbJG95
In our final episode in Japan, the DIRT team went road-tripping through beautiful, snowy Japanese landscapes—and tasting everything in sight. A crown jewel in the northeast corner of Japan, Hokkaido may be famous among skiers and snowboarders for the luscious "Japow," but way beyond the tourist trail there's a burgeoning new food scene and a unique and vibrant history. Though, if we're honest, Josh probably could've spent the whole trip carving up the mountain and been a happy camper.

How to get around Hakodate & Hokkaido?
Hokkaido Rail Pass will cover all the JR railway tickets from one city to another city. Within Hakodate, you can use Suica or Pasmo card for bus & local train. If you purchase JR Rail Pass, it will cover all JR rail from Tokyo to Hokkaido. We didn't get JR Rail Pass but instead fly domestically which is cheaper at that time.

Before going to Japan here is the Japan travel restrictions update Feb 2023: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JUcXsNfQcss
Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost prefecture, is famous for beautiful wilderness, abundant powder snow, delicious seafood, and popular destination for skiing and snowboarding in winter. Even if you are not skiing or snowboarding, there are still so much things to do, places to visit in Hokkaido region. We recommend 1 or 2 nights in Hakodate and here is all things to do, food you must try, places to visit for your travel itinerary to Hakodate:
1) Eat Chinese Fried Chicken Burger from Lucky Pierott
Do not underestimate this "clown" burger chain that only can be found in Hakodate because their Chinese fried chicken burger is actually very juicy. We did not expect burger in a small Japanese city in Hokkaido can be delicious but it was quite yummy indeed!
2) Ride the ropeway up to Mt Hakodate to see beautiful city from above. We recommend to start going up during sunset
3) Trying food that is unique or only can be found in Hokkaido
7-Eleven hot food snack, only in Hokkaido region - Saku Saku Roll (Japanese fish cake)
4) Must try freshest seafood at Hakodate Morning Market
Kaisendon bowl is a rice topped with fresh raw seafood like ikura (salmon roe), uni (sea urchin), shrimp, crab, sasihimi etc. Also, don't forget to try squid & snow crab bun from Kaniman Chaya.
Hokkaido is blessed with freshest seafood you will ever taste and there are so many types of crabs: King Crab, Hairy Crab, Hanasaki Crab that are super fresh and so sweet. In Hakodate Morning Market, you can also buy some fruits to try like strawberry and melon. Hokkaido's melon is a MUST try fruit!
5) Shopping and sightseeing at Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse
Commercial warehouse with lots of Japanese craft shops, perfect for shopping. Of course there are some food stalls, dessert and cafe like Starbucks in Hakodate Bay.
6) Eating dessert at a traditional tea shop built in 1900s
Kikuizumi Cafe was built in early 1900 and still maintain the old Japanese traditional house architecture that is now open as tea shop or cafe. Try the tofu shiratama parfait while mesmerizing irori - a sunken hearth in Japanese traditional houses that is rare to see.
7) Must try food: Miso Ramen in Hakodate
Hakodate is the birthplace of miso ramen so obviously you need to try miso ramen while visiting Hakodate. We tried Menchuubo Ajisai near the Goryokaku Tower.
8) Visit Goryokaku Tower and Goryokaku Park
The view of Hakodate from Goryokaku Tower is truly magical especially during winter with winter illumination lights, they are just magnificent.
