Camera Interviews - Leslie Henson (1937)
Titles read: "Camera Interviews - Leslie Henson".
London (?).
M/S of comedian Leslie Henson in his dressing room (looks like a set). A woman who looks very much like Beatrice Lillie / Bea Lillie enters with artist Frank Slater; she says Frank is going to draw Leslie, while she holds the patient's hand. Frank asks Leslie to do a bit of face-pulling; he obliges by pulling a good one, with a raised eyebrow and grimly set mouth. He jokes a bit with the woman while Frank sketches. The picture is very good. Leslie pulls another face; when he sees the finished picture he says "That's where I say, "You can't come into this nudist camp, you've got fur on your tongue!"." Fade out.

Peeps At Leslie Henson (1926)
No title.
Leslie Henson on stage as Caddie-Master "Kid Boots" - this is also the name of the play (at the Winter Gardens Theatre in London). He shows a lady golfer his swing technique. She has a go but the sleeves and scarf of her dress get in the way. Leslie pulls a face in C/U. She takes a shot and the ball travels in a bizarre fashion, missing the hole by a long chalk. Leslie does a silly dance to celebrate her misfortune. The Lady Doctor played by Miss Diana Wilson gets her own back when Leslie comes up for treatment. She sits him in a chair and waves a finger at him. She then turns up the dials on a machine which seem to give him electric shocks. The Stars As They Are - Miss Madge Saunders And Mr Leslie Henson (1921)
Madge Saunders looks from a window wondering where Leslie Henson has got to. She spots him sitting in the garden drinking what is probably an alcoholic drink. He is sitting in a deck chair and reading a script. Madge comes into the garden. Leslie is laughing out loud at what he is reading.
Intertitle reads: "Never mind your new play, Leslie - you must show the visitors our goat farm". Madge pulls him from his deck chair. C/U of Leslie putting something into his glass of whiskey (?). Madge and Leslie feed a baby goat - a kid - with some straw. Leslie brings a bucket and splashes water on the kid. They have a game of tennis but we only see Madge play. Tea is served by maids on the patio of a house. A nice family group. Leslie comes up swinging his tennis racquet. An Interti...

THIS DIGIBETA VERSION HAS BEEN MADE FROM THE PRINT - VERSION ON TAPE *PM0868* WILL PROBABLY BE BETTER QUALITY AS TAKEN FROM THE NEGATIVE.
Mr Leslie Henson in his dressing room puts on clothes at top speed.
A camera trick has made it seem as though the clothes magically appear on his body (he has been filmed taking them off then the film has been reversed). A butler assists. C/U of Leslie Henson looking dapper in a white bowler hat, stripy bow-tie and plaid suit - a suitable outfit for the horse racing. Jokey titles imitate the style of fashion reporting e.g. " The coat opens easily, thus allowing rapid access to pockets for use of bookmakers". C/U of Leslie lifting his coat and someone putting their hand in his pocket and pulling out money (notes). C/U of trouser strap under bo...

He shuffles around on the floor on his bottom, picks up a stool and rubs his backside with it (!) Strangely enough, he goes back for more!

C/U of trouser strap under boots. A high necked Mackintosh is modelled - especially suitable for "spaghetti and asparagus parties" as it saves hosing down after meals. Shot of Leslie eating with appalling table manners. Leslie pretends to play tennis to model the next outfit, likewise golf. The golfing jacket has immensely padded shoulders.
Note: there was some confusion over the location of this item as at some stage it was incorrectly numbered EP038.
Safety print exists - probably to be found on "Friends of Fashion" roll.
