"Can I jump on it sometime?" A not-so-new "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat" @ Opera House, Boston, 1989
We're traveling back in time almost 33 years to catch Dylan delivering a smoking version of his 1966 Blonde on Blonde track, "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat," with bandleader G.E. Smith leading the way on lead guitar.
It was filmed on the third of a 3-night set performed by Dylan at The Opera House in Boston, 10/25/89, during the second year of what would eventually come to be called his "Never Ending Tour."
In addition to G.E. Smith, the band included Tony Garnier on bass and Christopher Parker on drums.

Leopard Skin Pill Box Hat & Girl From The North Country Bob Dylan & Mark Knopfler 3 November 2011 Ma
"Well, I asked the doctor if I could see you
It’s bad for your health, he said
Yes, I disobeyed his orders
I came to see you
But I found him there instead
You know, I don’t mind him cheatin’ on me
But I sure wish he’d take that off his head
Your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat."
"Well, if you’re travelin’ in the north country fair
Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine."

Willin' 12 october 1990 Paramount Performing Arts Center Springfield, MA with G E Smith & Stephen B
Willin’
Written in 1970, "Willin'" was a mainstay of Little Feat, the band Lowell George had helped to found in 1970 and was a leading member of until his death on June 29, 1979. The song, John Tobler contends in the liner notes of As Time Goes By. The Very Best of Little Feat (1993), "quickly became a favorite among America’s truckdrivers, many of whom continue to regard it as the anthem of their profession . . . although absurdly it never has been a hit."
12 october 1990
Concert # 235 of The Never-Ending Tour. Second concert of the 1990 USA Fall Tour. 1990 concert # 65.
Concert # 157 with the second Never-Ending Tour band: Bob Dylan (vocal & guitar), G. E. Smith (guitar), Tony Garnier (bass), Christopher Parker (drums).Stephen Bruton & Cesar Diaz (guitar).

The camcorder used to film the show was an early generation Sony Video8 with only 6x zoom and 3 or 4 lux, rented from a Sony Service Center not far from home in Massachusetts. The sound here is a mix of the video soundtrack recorded on the camcorder with an external mono mic, and my husband Jon's audio recorded on a Sony Walkman Pro portable cassette deck using a Sony 1-point stereo mic.
On a personal note, it was just the 4th show I filmed, following 2 at the Beacon Theatre a couple of weeks earlier plus the first Boston dates. And it was the very first time I ever did so alone, as Jon had to go out of town on business that morning and missed the show.
I was sitting in just the fourth or fifth row. Although I'd filmed from the 6th row at the Beacon, it didn't feel quite as intimidating then as it did in Boston this night, with security just a few rows away and me all by my lonesome. I grew so anxious waiting for the lights to go down that I got sick and had to run out of the theater and downstairs to the rest room to throw up. Luckily I got back to my seat just a couple of minutes before Dylan and the band came onstage. And made it through the rest of the show without further incident. :)

🚧 ... Some Heads up Action:
The sound levels are very slightly adjusted towards bringing the vocals more upfront, & the volume has been aggressively raised upon the songs within this upload.
Also, there's a couple small glitches during Tangled, but still worth the listening while (well performed/sung version).
All in all, tis a fun listen,... & very nice to hear Mr. G.E. Smith back in the fold.
