In 2006, he was nominated in the Best Historical Category for mastering the Johnny Cash box set "The Legend". Vic has served as member of the Board of Governors for the New York Chapter of the Recording Academy® (NARAS).

The origin of this duet began when WAKY-AM/Louisville KY program director, Gary Guthrie, spliced both Neil's and Barbra's two solo versions together and the song got tremendous feedback and publicity. When Neil Diamond was told about it, he re-recorded the song with Streisand herself, and within weeks of its release, the single went to No.1 in the US.
