Lassi (pronounced[ləs-siː]) (La'See) is a popular, traditional, yogurt-based drink from the Indian Subcontinent and originates from the Punjab. Lassi is a blend of yogurt, water, spices and sometimes, fruit. Traditional lassi (a.k.a., "salted lassi", or simply, "lassi") is a savoury drink, sometimes flavoured with ground and roasted cumin. Sweet lassi, however, contains sugar or fruits, instead of spices. Salted mint lassi is highly favoured in Bangladesh.
In Dharmic religions, yogurt sweetened with honey is used while performing religious rituals. Less common is lassi served with milk and topped with a thin layer of clotted cream. Lassis are enjoyed chilled as a hot-weather refreshment, mostly taken with lunch. With a little turmeric powder mixed in, it is also used as a folk remedy for gastroenteritis. In Pakistan, salted lassi is often served with almost all kinds of meals, and is mostly made at home by simply whisking salt in yogurt and water. It is also sold at most dairy shops selling yogurt and milk, and both the salty and sweet variety are available.
Argostoli (Greek:Αργοστόλι, Katharevousa: Αργοστόλιον) is a town and a former municipality on the island of Kefalonia, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Kefalonia, of which it is a municipal unit. It has been the capital and administrative centre of Kefalonia since 1757, following a population shift down from the old capital of Agios Georgios (also known as Kastro) to take advantage of the trading opportunities provided by the sheltered bay upon which Argostoli sits. Argostoli developed into one of the busiest ports in Greece, leading to prosperity and growth. The 2011 census recorded a population of 10,633 in the Argostoli municipal unit. Its largest towns are Argostóli (pop. 9,748), Razata (507), Dilináta (496) and Kompothekráta (449).
Urban landscape
To the east of Argostoli, at the end of the bay, beneath the aforementioned Castle of St. George, sits the Koutavos Lagoon, a feeding ground for the Loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta). Now a nature reserve, the Koutavos Lagoon was once an almost impassable swamp where mosquitoes and malaria were rife. Under the British governor of the island, General Sir Charles James Napier, a wooden bridge was constructed across the lagoon in 1813 by Colonel Charles Philip de Bosset, a Swiss engineer in the employ of the British army.
Lassi is a village in Emmaste Parish, Hiiu County, Estonia, located on the southern part of Hiiumaa island. It has a population of 44 (as of 1 January 2000).
You would generally drink lassi when it's hot outside. It got up to a whopping 15 degrees in Toronto...waiting for summer. #shorts

Hi, today I'm going to teach you how to make a mango lassi. Lassis are a refreshing Indian drink made with yogurt. They're a mixture of yogurt and fruit or yogurt and salt. Today we're going to make a sweet one, a sweet mango one. We're going to add two cups of plain yogurt and we're going to add half a cup of mango pulp. Now, there's different kinds of mango pulp you can find at an Indian grocery store. There's alphonso mangos and kesar mangos, just different varieties of the fruit. I prefer alphonso mango. It's got a very rich, full, lovely balanced flavor so if you can find that I highly recommend it.
I'm adding two tablespoons of sugar. You can sweeten it to taste. Actually, I'll put in a little extra. It's up to you. I like it a little bit sweet. And I'm going to add some water and this also is variable depending on what consistency you like. And we're just going to mix this up until it gets really nice and frothy.
Okay. This looks like a nice consistency and I'm going to pour it over ice so it's nice and cold. This tastes great on a hot Indian afternoon. And I'm going to garnish it with just a little sprig of mint and there is your mango lassi. Yummy.
