Lancaster bomber start up, take off & landing (incredible sound) 🇬🇧
Listen to the incredible sound of the Avro Lancaster with it's four Merlin engines as it starts up, takes off and lands at RAF Coningsby, home of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Also featured is a Supermarine Spitfire.
The planes of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight have been preserved since World War II. The Lancaster, known as 'Leader' and registered as PA474, was built just after victory had been declared in Europe in 1945 and never actually saw action before deployment. The Spitfire, AB910, on the other-hand saw multiple battles and shot down a Dornier Do 217 in 1942.
The planes are intended to pay tribute to the fallen and preserve the history of the conflict for future generations to learn from. They belong to the Royal Air Force. Read more: https://www.raf.mod.uk/disp...

🇬🇧 Goosebumps As Glorious Sounding WW2 Lancaster Bomber Takes off With Spitfire Lead.
Blimey! What a moment this was. Four mighty Rolls Royce Merlin engines roaring full tilt over our heads. Nothing finer ;)
Don't forget to watch out for the guy waving in the front of the Lancaster, he's sat in the bomb aimer position.
As I zoomed in close to the nose of the Lancaster bomber, I could see a hand wearing a white glove, waving to the airshow fans on the hill. Just brilliant!

Low WW2 Lancaster Bomber Appears Over The Trees at Quiet Surrey Village
This was a magic moment, a WW2 Lancaster bomber aircraft with its four Rolls Royce Merlin engines, roared over a quiet Surrey village out in the sticks, whilst flying at the local Dunsfold airshow. The sound overhead was awesome as it appeared from behind the trees.

Audio From the Past [E01] - WW2 - Avro Lancaster Crew Radio
In 1943, the Royal Air Force began a night bombing campaign against Germany, the like of which had never been seen before. Over the next twelve months, tens of thousands of aircrews flew across the North Sea to drop their bombs on german cities. They were opposed by the full force of the Luftwaffe, but also by a nightmare of flak, treacherously icy conditions and constant mechanical malfunctions. Most of these crews never finished their tour of operations, but were either shot down and killed, or taken prisoner by an increasingly hostile enemy.

Listen to Belugas in Canada's Largest MPA Lancaster Sound
The sound of a whale is a beautiful thing. Be sure to turn your sound on to hear this big, beautiful bowhead whale in the Tallurutiup Imanga/Lancaster Sound marine protected area, in Canada’s north. It’s a step in the right direction, but we must remain vigilant. Threats from oil and gas exploration, seismic testing and heavy tanker traffic loom over the Arctic like a dark cloud, and we need to work with all communities to protect this fragile region. This week, we will share stories and imagery from our recent expedition to Tallurutiup Imanga and the Northwest Passage, where we witnessed both the uplifting beauty of the Arctic and the mounting challenges this region deals with as climate change, tanker traffic and mankind’s touch become more prevalent.
