The Lady Elizabeth's Men, or Princess Elizabeth's Men, was a company of actors in JacobeanLondon, formed under the patronage of King James I's daughter Princess Elizabeth. From 1618 on, the company was called The Queen of Bohemia's Men, after Elizabeth and her husband the Elector Palatine had their brief and disastrous flirtation with the crown of Bohemia. (In the winter of 1618–19, the two had their brief reign as the King and Queen of Bohemia, to start the Thirty Years' War.)
The company received its royal patent on 27 April 1611; it is thought to have been composed largely of former child actors from the children's troupes — the Children of the Chapel and the Children of Paul's— who were now grown to manhood. They may have started out playing at the Swan Theatre. On 29 August 1611, the company signed a bond with Philip Henslowe; they would rely on Henslowe for financing and would in the future act at Henslowe's new theatre, the Hope.
Lady Elizabeth was an ironbarque of 1,155 tons built by Robert Thompson Jr. of Southwick, Sunderland and launched on 4 June 1879. Robert Thompson Jr. was one of the sons of Robert Thompson Sr. who owned and operated the family ran shipyard J. L. Thompson & Sons. Thompson Jr. eventually left the family business in 1854 to start his own shipbuilding business in Southwick, Sunderland. The ship was built for John Wilson as a replacement for the 658-ton, 1869-built barque Lady Elizabeth which sank off Rottnest Island, Western Australia in 1878.
History
The builders of the second Lady Elizabeth had also built the first ship. The ship had three masts and was just under average size compared to barques built by Robert Thompson. However, the later Lady Elizabeth was still the seventh largest ship the firm built. John Wilson remained owner of Lady Elizabeth and was captained by Alexander Findley from Montrose until 15 March 1884 when he took out a number of loans from G. Oliver and also with the bank. Eventually John Wilson declared bankruptcy and all of his ships, including Lady Elizabeth were sold off.
The Lady Elizabeth was a British ship built in 1869 by Robert Thompson Jr. of Sunderland. She was 658 tons and was classified as a barque cargo sailing ship with one deck and three masts. She had a keel and outer planking made from American rock elm and a fore end made from English elm. The stem was made of teak and English oak with an iron floor as the deck. The ship also had copper and iron fastings. The ships was also registered in London under the name Wilson & Co. Messrs Wilson & Co. was based out of Sydney, Australia. The ship carried a comparative classification under American Lloyds as "First class-third grade" (First Class under British Lloyds)
Service history
The Lady Elizabeth was owned by shipping merchant John Wilson and made her primary shipping runs between Fremantle, Western Australia and London. Sometimes the Lady Elizabeth would make other runs to Chinese ports in the Asian Indian region to deliver timber. There is speculation that the Lady Elizabeth was named after John Wilsons mother Elizabeth Wilson. She was commanded by Captain Edward W. Cobbett and after 1875, by Captain Thomas S. Scott.

Prince Edward is the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II. Being practically the last in line to the throne, he never expected to be able to become the ruler of Great Britain, and therefore enjoyed the privileges of a member of the royal family, and was free to choose his education and work. Like his older brother Charles, Edward went to Cambridge, where he majored in history, and received his degree in 1986. At the age of 23, Edward became a production assistant for such iconic musicals as Cats and The Phantom of the Opera. But the prince's own productions were a failure, and he switched from theater to television. In 1993, Edward founded his own company, which produced documentaries about British rulers, palaces and other elements of the sweet life. Edward is the only one of Elizabeth and ...
