On 1 July 2008, a patent was filed by Timothy R. Jacobi and Stanley J. Checketts for a "Longitudinally Spinning Suspension Roller Coaster". This concept was later revealed to be a new model of roller coaster by S&S Worldwide named the Free Fly.
Shortly after the filing of the patent, Parks & Resorts Scandinavia announced their plans to add new roller coasters at three of their parks in 2009. This announcement included Tranan at Skara Sommarland which was the world's first Free Fly roller coaster. After a period of construction from late 2008 through to early 2009, Tranan officially opened to the public on 29 May 2009.
Ride experience
The ride begins with a left turn out of the station. Upon reaching the top of the 57-foot-tall (17m)chain lift hill, the train descends down a small dip into a series of helices and track inversions (one clockwise and one anti-clockwise). For the majority of the ride, the vehicles remain vertical with only slight banking occurring on various turns. Riders therefore do not experience traditional roller coaster inversions.On-ride photos can be purchased following the ride.
Crane is a city in and the county seat of Crane County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,353 at the 2010 census. An oilboomtown since the 1920s, Crane is still in the center of a prominent oil-producing region. It is the only significant town in sparsely populated Crane County and contains the only post office in the county.
History
While the post office dates from 1908, it was the discovery of oil in 1926 in the Permian Basin that brought in enough fortune-seekers to populate a town. Streets are named for the children of O.C. Kinnison, the realtor who drew up the town map. As in other oil boomtowns, development of services lagged behind temporary dwellings for the workers, although paved roads and other basic infrastructure was added as the town grew. Peak population as reported by the U.S. Census was in 1960 at 3,796, and it has declined slightly since, although the town remains the center for servicing the oil fields in Crane County.
The Museum of the Desert Southwest is the area's museum of local history and is operated by the Crane County Historical Commission.
Crane was named for the prominent local features Crane Creek and Crane Creek Gap. Crane Creek Gap is the pass between the Harney Basin and the drainage basin of the South Fork Malheur River. Crane Creek is probably named for the sandhill crane, which was once abundant in Eastern Oregon. Crane post office was established in 1895 and discontinued in 1903. When the Union Pacific railroad was completed from Ontario, Oregon, in 1916, the post office was reopened.
Until the railroad was finished to Burns in 1924, Crane was an important livestock shipping point, and the town was thriving with its five restaurants, four hotels, three garages, two general merchandise stores, a warehouse, a lumber yard, livery stables, a dance hall, a newspaper, a bank and a movie theater. After a series of fires, the latest in 1938, however, the town never returned to its former prosperity. As of 2011, the businesses in Crane included a post office, a service station, a café and tavern, a farm supply store, and a local realtor.
Technology ("science of craft", from Greekτέχνη, techne, "art, skill, cunning of hand"; and -λογία, -logia) is the collection of techniques, skills, methods and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation. Technology can be the knowledge of techniques, processes, etc. or it can be embedded in machines, computers, devices and factories, which can be operated by individuals without detailed knowledge of the workings of such things.
The human species' use of technology began with the conversion of natural resources into simple tools. The prehistoric discovery of how to control fire and the later Neolithic Revolution increased the available sources of food and the invention of the wheel helped humans to travel in and control their environment. Developments in historic times, including the printing press, the telephone, and the Internet, have lessened physical barriers to communication and allowed humans to interact freely on a global scale. The steady progress of military technology has brought weapons of ever-increasing destructive power, from clubs to nuclear weapons.

Coming into Crane, Texas. Not too much here, but a nice little community. The oil fields keeps it alive. Years ago, my Uncle Hugh worked for Gulf oil and he and my Aunt Dot lived in Crane, Texas. From what I remember from back then when I was a 12 year old kid...not much has changed. The only reason I made a stop in Crane is to visit the grave site of my Aunt and Uncle. I also had a little run in with some woman in the office at the cemetery when she jumped on me about my dog telling me that dogs were not allowed. I told her that my dog Henry is a registered and certified support dog and she came unglued shouting at me..."I dont give a damn what he is...I said dogs are not allowed." I started to tell her where, when and how she could get off, but I let that go...very unusual for me. I just...

Ribeye of the Sky: Sandhill Cranes in West Texas | S5E10 | MeatEater
Steve and bird hunting aficionado Ronny Boehme join up with wildlife biologist Ed Arnett in Lubbock, Texas to hunt Sandhill cranes. The Sandhill crane offers a unique wingshooting opportunity and also carries the nickname “rib eye of the sky” because of its supposed similarities to a handsome cut of beef. It’s fast action and plenty of laughs as Steve, Ronny, and Ed explore the culinary delights of these birds with a Texas style “Crane Cookout.”

I started to tell her where, when and how she could get off, but I let that go...very unusual for me. I just turned around and walked out and went to the grave site. Some other man was in the office at the time all of this happened and I think he knew that Bimbo had shit in her mess kit from the look on his face. When I got home, I sent a letter to the Mayor of Crane telling him (I assume a HIM) what had happened with the Bimbo at the cemetery and what she had said and that I would be back in the near future and I also explained to him that being that Henry is a service dog, I can take him anywhere I want and city rules or cemetery rules be damned...Federal law over rides city law. I also told him that if I have any issues from any employee with the city of Crane, there will be a Federal law suit filed against the city of Crane and the Bimbo working at the cemetery and that I hope the city has deep pockets. Strange, I never heard back from anyone in Crane, but I have been back out there 3 times since this happened and no one approached me about Henry being in the cemetery. I can only guess that the Mayor had a little chat with the city/county attorney. Then the attorney did a little homework and discovered that they were dangerously close to getting their asses handed to them with a Federal law suit and the attorney or someone working for the city told Bimbo to shut her mouth.
I will say this about the cemetery...it was very nice, well kept and green while everything else in Crane is a dingy dead brown.
