North Carolina is composed of 100 counties. Its two largest metropolitan areas are among the top ten fastest-growing in the country: its capital, Raleigh, and its largest city, Charlotte. In the past five decades, North Carolina's economy has undergone a transition from reliance upon tobacco, textiles, and furniture-making to a more diversified economy with engineering, energy, biotechnology, and finance sectors.
North Carolina has a wide range of elevations, from sea level on the coast to 6,684 feet (2,037m) at Mount Mitchell, the highest point in North America east of the Mississippi River. The climate of the coastal plains is strongly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. Most of the state falls in the humid subtropical climate zone. More than 300 miles (500km) from the coast, the western, mountainous part of the state has a subtropical highland climate.
North Carolina wine refers to wine made from grapes grown in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Wine has been produced in the area since the early days of Europeancolonization in the 17th century. Wine growers in North Carolina were the first to cultivate a native American grape variety, the Scuppernong, which produces a sweet wine, examples of which are still being made in the state. Most wine produced in North Carolina since the year 2000 is made from Vitis vinifera grape varieties, although French hybrid and Vitis labrusca varieties remain common.
Wine industry
North Carolina ranks tenth in both grape and wine production in the United States. The state's wine industry continues to expand, and today is one of the United States’ five most visited state destinations for wine and culinary tourism. In 2007, North Carolina contained 55 wineries and 350 vineyards. By 2011, this had grown to more than 100 wineries and more than 400 vineyards.
Originally the settlement was called White Plains, but when the city was incorporated in 1874, the name was changed. It was decided that "Kings Mountain" would be a more appropriate name since the community was close to the historic Battle of Kings Mountain in York County, South Carolina.

King's Mountain, Judea - The King's Mountain, (Hebrew Har Hamalekh), was a section of the southern mountains of Judea. It was called after King Alexander Jannaeus (Yannai), one of the chief rulers of the Hasmonean dynasty.

App Gear Co was founded with a simple goal in mind: to create a performance product line using natural fibers that gives customers an eco-friendly alternative to polyester and nylon. The execution was not so simple, but we persevered and did something no one else had ever been able to do - make a lightweight performance fabric out of 100% alpaca. Today that spirit of innovation is as strong as ever, and we intend to keep pushing the boundaries of what sustainable outdoor performance gear can (and should) be.
