William Robert "Will" Young (born 20 January 1979) is an English singer-songwriter and actor who came to prominence after winning the 2002 inaugural series of the British music contest Pop Idol, making him the first winner of the worldwide Idol franchise. His debut single "Anything Is Possible" was released two weeks after the show's finale and became the fastest-selling debut single in the UK. Young also came in fifth place in World Idol performing his single "Light My Fire".
As a teenager, Young studied politics at the University of Exeter before moving to London, where he studied musical theatre at Arts Educational School. Young put his studies on hold in late 2001 to become a contestant on Pop Idol. After winning the competition the following year, he released his debut album From Now On (2002) which went straight to number one. Friday's Child (2003) followed and enjoyed greater success, eventually going platinum five times in the UK and spawning three top five singles. His following albums Keep On (2005) and Let It Go (2008) and Echoes (2011) also went multi-platinum and his most recent release 85% Proof (2015) became his fourth UK number-one album. His albums have spawned many songs that have accomplished top ten positions in the UK, four of which went to the number one spot. Young has also undertaken numerous concert tours. He has also accumulated multiple honours, including two BRIT Awards from 12 nominations, and the estimated worldwide sale of over eight million albums. Young's net worth was estimated at £13.5 million in April 2012.
Will Young (born 3 August 1990) is an Australian rules football player who is currently rookie-listed at the Adelaide Crows. Young was taken late in the 2008 AFL Draft, with Adelaide's fifth round pick at number 72.
Young represented Vic Country in the 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships. Vic Country coach Robert Hyde said after the carnival that "He missed a couple of games through injury but I remember our first game against Vic Metro – we only just got rolled – he was probably close to our best player. His attack on the ball was terrific."
Young was recruited from the North Ballarat Rebels and after moving to South Australia, he was selected in the Mini Draft by Norwood at pick 6, and quickly cemented a spot in the team's defence. Injury interrupted Young's first year in senior football, but worked his way back into the league side later in the season.
He made his debut for the Adelaide Crows in Round 2, 2010 in a home game against the Sydney Swans. Young came into the selected squad for Nathan van Berlo who pulled out due to back soreness. He had a forgettable game, conceding six goals to Sydney's Ben McGlynn, but made a successful return to the side in round 21 against Collingwood, kicking his first goal in AFL football in a 3-point loss.
Keep On is the third album from original Pop Idol winner Will Young. The album was released on 21 November 2005, debuting at number 2 on the albums chart in the United Kingdom, as the album sold 107,318 copies in its first week. However, its biggest sales were 132,109, in its fifth week when the album placed at number 13. This is also his first album not to go number 1. It is, however, his second best-selling album, with sales of almost 1.01 million.
Keep On was released in two formats, CD and DualDisc. The Dual Disc contains the audio tracks on one side, and DVD content on the other, containing 25 minutes of exclusive footage.
Workin' Overtime is the seventeenth studio album by American singer Diana Ross, released on June 6, 1989 by Motown. It was Ross' first Motown album since Diana (1980), after Ross left the label for a then record breaking $20 million deal with RCA. Upon Diana's return to the label, Motown founder Berry Gordy, Jr. had sold the label to MCA Records and had positioned Jheryl Busby to the head of Motown. Ross was at first reluctant to return to her old label but Gordy promised her a lot in her return: not only would Ross return to Motown as a recording act, but she would be the label's part-owner. Ross reunited with collaborator Nile Rodgers to make this album - which was an attempt to gear her to a much younger audience bringing in new jack swing productions and house music.
Upon its release, Workin' Overtime received negative reviews from music critics and failed despite the title track reaching number three at R&B radio. The album peaked at number 116 on the Billboard 200 album chart, earning the distinction of being the lowest charting studio album of Ross' entire solo career. Its final sales were slightly higher than 100,000 copies in the United States. Additional singles "This House" and "Bottom Line" were issued, as well as a remix of "Paradise" remixed by Shep Pettibone, but all failed to revive the disc. In the United Kingdom the album charted at number 23 and was certified silver for sales in excess of 60,000 copies.
