Pepsi, Where's My Jet? | Official Trailer | Netflix
The year was 1996, and the cola wars were raging. Pepsi needed something huge to compete with Coke so they rolled out their biggest campaign ever: “Pepsi Stuff” It featured a soon-to-be infamous commercial that claimed for 7,000,000 Pepsi points you could win a Harrier Jet (one of the most advanced military jets of the time). Pepsi execs assumed the astronomical “price” of the military plane was set high enough to indicate it was a joke, but ambitious & cunning college student John Leonard saw it as a challenge. Enlisting the help (and funding) of mountaineering buddy Todd Hoffman, the 21-year old hashed out a plan to score the grandest prize of all. What ensues is an outrageous goose chase for the infamous Harrier Jet and a legal battle with Pepsi that changed advertising forever.

Pepsi Harrier Jet Commercial 1
The infamous Pepsi commercial where they asked 7,000,000 of Pepsi Points for a Harrier jet.
Someone actually got the 7,000,000 Points, but obviously Pepsi don't give him anything. Pepsi just set the same commercial but now they asked for 700,000,000 Points... Pepsi underestimate people.

Advertisers use all sorts of techniques to catch an audience’s eye and keep its attention. Often, they use drama and humor to encourage interest in the product. But what happens if a viewer takes the silliness seriously? The federal district court in New York City addressed that question in the 1999 case of Leonard versus Pepsico.
Pepsico Incorporated produced and sold Pepsi products. Pepsico ran a promotion that encouraged consumers to collect Pepsi Points from specially marked packages of Pepsi or Diet Pepsi. Pepsi Points could be used to buy Pepsi Stuff, the merchandise usu...

ABOUT IMAGINE
John: ‘Imagine’ is a song conceived in my head without melody. The first verse came to me very quickly in the form of a childlike street chant ‘da da da da da dee dee da dee da ee a eeeh’. The piano intro I’ve had hanging around in my head for a few years – the chords and melody followed naturally from this.
The middle eight was ‘conceived’ to finish off the song. I think it works as a song. Of course, there is always room for improvement – otherwise I wouldn’t make any more. The third verse came to me in an eight-seater plane. It’s a song for children.
Yoko: ‘Cloud Piece’: ‘Imagine the clouds dripping, dig a hole in your garden to put them in.’ This is not a piece of poetry. Poetry to me is nouns or adjectives. This is verbs. And you have to do them. These are all instructions and when you just do it, then you start to understand it.
John: ‘Imagine’ was inspired by Yoko’s Grapefruit. There’s a lot of pieces in it saying like ‘Imagine this’ or ‘Imagine that’. If you get a copy of Grapefruit and look through, you’ll see where I was influenced by her. ‘Imagine’ could never have been written without her. And I know she helped on a lot of the lyrics but I wasn’t man enough to let her have credit for it. So that song was actually written by John & Yoko, but I was still selfish enough and unaware enough to take her contribution without acknowledging it. The song itself expresses what I’d learned through being with Yoko and my own feelings on it. It should really have said ‘Lennon/Ono’ on that song, because she contributed a lot of that song.
Alan White (drummer): Every song we did on Imagine, John would make us read the lyrics and insist that we understood the meaning of the song before started playing it. That had quite an impact for me.
Klaus Voormann (bass): When we played ‘Imagine’ and heard the lyrics, the possibility that this was going to be such a big song was apparent. It definitely was. I even thought I didn’t want to play on it because it was so amazing with just John playing piano. It was so true and honest. That would have been enough. I hope you’ve got a version of just John playing it.
Phil McDonald (engineer): ‘Imagine’ was one of the easiest tracks to record, almost all live, in a few takes. We mixed the track at Tittenhurst and Phil Spector added strings on top of the stereo tape in the USA.
Yoko: John and I were both artists and we were living together, so we inspired each other. And the song ‘Imagine’ embodied what we believed together at the time. John and I met – he comes from the West and I come from the East – and still we are together. We have this oneness and ‘the whole world would eventually become one’ is the sense that we will all be café-au-lait colour and we will all be very happy together. All these instructions are for people for how to spend eternity, because we have lots of time.
John: If you can imagine a world of peace, if you can imagine a world with no denominations of religion – not without religion, whatever religion is – but without this divisive ‘My god is bigger than your god’ business.... Then, if you can imagine the possibility, then it can be true.
Yoko: ‘Imagine’ is a complete vision. A succinct bible of truth. It will start to unfold as you believe in it. The film? Well, it just happened naturally. I was well aware of the symbolism of everything – closing and then opening the shutters to let the light in. It’s rather personal, but I had a definite reason why I smiled at the end, in addition to loving being next to John.

No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid

Leonard v. Pepsico | 88 F.Supp. 2d 116 (1999)
Pepsi Points could be used to buy Pepsi Stuff, the merchandise usually bearing the Pepsi logo. Pepsico listed the available items in a catalog and released an order form as part of the promotion.
Pepsico ran an ad campaign publicizing the Pepsi Points promotion. One ad showed a high-school-aged boy wearing various items of available clothing. It then showed the same boy flying a military Harrier jump jet and landing it at his school. The ad then indicated that the Harrier jet could be purchased for seven million Pepsi Points.
Pepsico published a catalog of available merchandise, mostly clothing items, and the number of Pepsi Points each item cost. The catalog didn’t list the jet. The catalog did mention that if a buyer didn’t have enough Pepsi Points, additional points could be purchased for ten cents each, as long as the customer’s order included at least fifteen actual Pepsi Points.
John Leonard really wanted the jet. He calculated that seven million Pepsi Points cost $700,000. At the time, the military jet cost about $23 million dollars, even assuming that a civilian could buy one.
Through friends, Leonard raised $700,000. He sent in his fifteen actual Pepsi Points, a check for $700,000, and a Pepsi Stuff order form, in which he ordered the jet. Pepsico returned his check and responded that the ad was supposed to be funny. The letter indicated the jet wasn’t really available.
After an exchange of correspondence, Pepsico sued Leonard in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking a declaratory judgment that it didn’t owe him the jet. Pepsico filed a motion for summary judgment arguing that Leonard couldn’t prove his claim.

Seriously Insane Stunts That People Sadly Didn't Survive
Professional daredevils have all kinds of reasons for performing insane stunts. Maybe they just like the thrill of danger, maybe they feel like they have something to prove to the world, or maybe they just want to prove something to themselves. Regardless, some daredevils have taken it too far and attempted stunts that sadly ended in their deaths. They may have even taken every necessary safety precaution, but something they couldn’t have predicted caused it to go wrong. From the "MythBusters" star who tried to break a world record to the only fatality in X Games history, let’s take a look at some seriously insane stunts that people sadly didn’t survive.

This Is What Scientists Found at the Bottom of the Niagara Falls That Left Them so Disturbed
Around 18,000 years ago, the falls didn't exist. They were formed then ice sheet from the North Pole left behind vast areas of landscape, what we know today as North America. When the vast chunks of ice started to melt, the fall came into existence. When the glaciers melted, a considerable amount of water was sent into the Niagara River. It took a lot of time for the water to erode the cliffs, and the falls were formed. By the end of the 19the century, the world's first hydroelectric generating station was built near the falls. Soon, it started producing electricity. Unfortunately, the electricity could only carry 300-feet, so everyone knew that improvements had to be made. Nicola Tesla was the man who made those changes. He found a way to send electricity to long distances bu using altern...

Pawn Stars Chumlee Sentenced To Life In Prison After This
Pawn Stars is a very interesting show when you think about it. Because it’s honestly a show about grown men, running a pawn shop, trying to do all they can to get both interesting items, and items that can make them a lot of money. Plus, since it’s a family (plus Chumlee), it adds an extra dynamic that has kept it on for over 11 years. But if you look at the true history of the shop, you’ll find yourself looking at some bad beats and bad breaks that don’t paint the Pawn Stars in the best light. Allow us to show you then. Be sure to like the video and subscribe to the channel!

He found a way to send electricity to long distances bu using alternating current. Today, the fall's power plants produce more than two million kilowatts of power.
The scientists wanted to see if it was possible to see what was going on behind the falls. They thought that if they could stop them from flowing, they could find out the mysteries behind them. Tempering nature is a challenge, and many people wondered if what the scientists had planned was even possible. How is it possible to stop such a powerful force?
This may sound strange, but the amount of water changes at night. This isn't something that happens; naturally, it is due to a human factor. Local companies are allowed to take water from the falls, but only at night. During the '50s, the locals signed a treaty to take more water at night when there weren't too many tourists there, and they wouldn't notice a difference.
Technically, the Niagara Falls belong to Canada and the United States. There are parts of the falls that belong only to the United States. The American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls are two parts of Niagara Falls, and they belong only to America. There are not parts of the falls that belong to Canada exclusively.
It was believed that the stones that accumulate at the bottom of the falls could cause problems in the future. The concerns of the New York citizens reached Canada, and an organization that takes care of the shared waters was contacted. They are called the International Joint Commission, and they discovered that something had to be done with the accumulated rocks at the bottom of the waterfalls. They even contacted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for their opinion on the matter.
Nobody could come up with a solution for the accumulated rocks, so they decided to shut down the falls. In the summer of 1969, over 1,000 trucks carried rocks and Earth to the falls just to get them to stop flowing. The loads were dumped upstream of the waterfall for three days. A cofferdam was created, and the falls stopped flowing. The water was redirected from there to the Horseshoe Falls.
The locals were very worried for two reasons. First, they knew that you couldn't control water. What would happen if the water was rerouted the wrong way, causing a significant flood? Also, they were worried about the tourists. What would happen if they failed to get the falls flowing again? Many locals made money from the tourists. If the falls stopped, the money would dry up as well. The tourists did stop visiting the falls that summer, but those who did show up got to see something that nobody will ever see again. They also had the opportunity to take rocks and incredible coins from the riverbed.
The people who watched while the waters of the fall over the falls when it drained saw skeletons in the water. It was unclear whether the skeletons belonged to animals who had drowned or people who had fallen in the falls at one point. When one of the skeletons was examined, it was determined that the man died when he jumped into the falls. The year that he died was unknown. Another skeleton was a woman, and there was no apparent cause of death apart from drowning. It is believed that the woman saw her loved one drown, and decided to meet him in the same spot.
The fact that the experts were able to stop the falls from flowing was incredible. Fortunately, the falls started flowing again, and today, the Niagara Falls are as incredible as ever. Had the experts not been able to stop the water so they could remove the stones back in 1969, we might have lost one of the greatest wonders of the world.
