The Legacy of John Keel & The Mothman with Brent Raynes
Brent Raynes has been investigating UFOs and paranormal phenomena for the last 55 years. He is editor of Alternate Perceptions, an online magazine, that recently published its 290th issue. He is author of Visitors From Hidden Realms, On the Edge of Reality, and John A. Keel: The Man, The Myths, and the Ongoing Mysteries. His website is https://www.apmagazine.info/
Here he focuses on Keel's most famous investigation: the Mothman sightings and related precognitions around Point Pleasant, West Virginia, in the mid-1960s. In 2002, a film was made based on Keel's book, The Mothman Prophecies. Raynes points out that the actual investigation was more complex than was revealed in the movie. He describes his own research into this case as well as that of others. In one related, and well-documented...

John Keel Lecture on UFOs
John A. Keel was an American journalist, writer, and researcher of paranormal phenomena, primarily in the field of UFOlogy. His most well-known work is the book the Mothman Prophecies, an account of his, and those of the numerous people around the Ohio Valley area, paranormal experiences that were centered mainly in Point Pleasant, WV in the 1960s.
He was a proponent of the inter- dimensional hypothesis, that is that UFOs and all related phenomena are of inter dimensional origin, not of extraterrestrial.
I did improve the audio quality a little bit.

JOHN A. KEEL -- THE EIGHTH TOWER: THE COSMIC FORCE BEHIND ALL RELIGIOUS, OCCULT, AND UFO PHENOMENA.
first published in 1975 and is subtitled "On Ultraterrestrials and the Superspectrum."
John Keel's disturbing follow-up to THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES! Is there a single intelligent force behind all religious, occult, and UFO phenomena?
Strange manifestations have haunted humans since prehistoric times. Beams of light, voices from the heavens, the "little people," gods and devils, ghosts and monsters, and UFOs, have all had a prominent place in our history and legends. In this dark work, John Keel explores these phenomena, and in doing so reveals the shocking truth about our present position and future destiny in the cosmic scheme of things.
Are we pawns in a celestial game?
In the Orient, there is a story told of the seven towers. These citadels, well hidden from mankind, are occupied by groups of Satanists who are chanting the world to ruin. Perhaps this is just a story; perhaps there is some truth behind it. But what if there is yet another tower, a tower not of good or evil but of infinite power? What if all our destinies are controlled by this cosmic force for its own mysterious purposes? And what if UFOs and other paranormal manifestations are merely tools being used to manipulate us and guide us toward the cosmic role we are fated to play? Perhaps, after all, we are not independent beings but are instead the creations and slaves of the eighth tower.
Is there a single intelligent force behind all religious, occult, and UFO phenomena? Are ufonauts, leprechauns, the Loch Ness Monster, Sasquatch, and even "Satan" really just beings from another dimension? Are they creations of the mass mind or "collective unconscious?" Or are they a super-computer's last defense against humanity run amok? Are the radio signals we receive from outer space actually broadcasts from ultraterrestrials? John Keel, in his masterpiece, "The Eighth Tower," has his opinions on these and other matters. Strange manifestations have haunted mankind since prehistoric times. Beams of light, voices from the heavens, the "little people," gods and devils, ghosts and monsters, and UFOs have all had a prominent place in our history and legends. Now, author Keel, an internationally renowned authority on the paranormal, explores these phenomena using spine-chilling - but true - case histories to reveal the shocking truth about our present position and future destiny in the cosmos.
JOHN A. KEEL (March 25, 1930 – July 3, 2009) was an American journalist and influential UFO-ologist best known as the author of "The Mothman Prophecies." The least known of his tremendously influential works, "The Eighth Tower" was derived from material left out of "The Mothman Prophecies."
"The Eighth Tower," is not specifically about UFOs but explores a wider range of paranormal phenomena. The book was first published in 1975 and is subtitled "On Ultraterrestrials and the Superspectrum." In "The Eighth Tower," Keel proposes the idea that various paranormal occurrences, including UFO sightings, are connected and may be manifestations of a higher reality or alternate dimensions.
The title of the book refers to the concept that there may be an "eighth tower" beyond the seven traditional towers or levels of existence. Keel suggests that this hypothetical eighth tower represents a realm inhabited by ultraterrestrial beings, entities that exist outside our normal understanding of space and time.
"The Eighth Tower" explores themes of high strangeness, synchronicity, and the interconnectivity of different paranormal phenomena. Keel believed that there might be a unified field that explains a wide range of seemingly unrelated supernatural experiences.
It's important to note that Keel's work is controversial, and his ideas are not universally accepted within the scientific and ufological communities. Some critics argue that his theories are speculative and lack empirical evidence. Nevertheless, Keel's contributions have left an impact on the study of the unexplained, and his work continues to be discussed and debated within the broader field of paranormal research.
