Jermyn, known as "The Birthplace of First Aid in America," is a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, on the Lackawanna River, 12 miles (19km) northeast of Scranton. A productive anthracite coal field was in the region in 1900 when 2,567 people lived here. In 1910, 3,158 residents of Jermyn were tallied. In the early years of the twentieth century, coal mines, cut-glass works, silk, powder, grist, planing, and saw mills, bottling works, and fertilizer factories dotted the borough. The population was 2,169 at the 2010 census. Jermyn is the mailing address of the Lakeland School District. The section of town east of the Lackawanna River and west of the small section of Archbald known as "Nebraska", East Jermyn is commonly referred to as "Calico Lane" or "The Lane". Jermyn was incorporated as a borough in 1870 and celebrated its Centennial in 1970 with a week-long celebration.
History
The borough was named for John Jermyn, a businessperson in the mining industry.

The genesis for the project came after a disappointing Google search for the 10 most beautiful streets in London. What did I find? Over a dozen blogs listing a bunch of unconvincing and mostly unimpressive "Instagrammable" streets from various tourists who simply don't know the city like a local does. Having lived and breathed London for 10 years across multiple bases (flats, jobs and... well, ex-girlfriends' flats) I feel a responsibility to show the world where the beauty really lies in the UK's capital.
The plan is as follows: upload 100 or more walks of streets which I feel belong on the list in no particular order. After this comes the challenge where I assemble them in order and present the list to the world.
Having sunk some serious hours in already, I have a shortlist of just over 100 streets for consideration. I must stress, if you have suggestions for streets you'd like to see then please discuss in the comments below. I respond to almost all comments! I will take likes/dislikes as a form of feedback as well, of course. Plus if you have friends and family who love London, by all means share the videos! I could use all the feedback I can get. :)

Running parallel to Piccadilly, one block to the south in the St James district of central London is Jermyn Street.
Named after Henry Jermyn, 1st Earl of St Albans, it has a history going back to the 1660s. It is typically associated with relatively upmarket clothing retailers. Notable former residents include Sir Isaac Newton and Sir Walter Scott.
Filmed: June 2020

Filmed on a Sony FDR-AX700 with a Zhiyun Crane 2 and a Rode Videomicro.
