Albert Hague (October 13, 1920 – November 12, 2001) was a German-American songwriter, composer, and actor.
Early life
Hague was born as Albert Marcuse to a Jewish family in Berlin, Germany. His father, Harry Marcuse, was a psychiatrist and a musical prodigy, and his mother, Mimi (née Heller), a chess champion. His family considered their Jewish heritage a liability and raised him as a Lutheran. Hague came to America in 1939 on scholarship to the University of Cincinnati. After graduating in 1942, he served in the United States Army during World War II.
Famous songs he wrote include "Young and Foolish", "Look Who's in Love" and "Did I Ever Really Live?" He was the composer for the TV musical cartoon, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and some songs in the 2000 musical version. He also was an actor, most notably on the TV series Fame, where he played Benjamin Shorofsky, the music teacher. It was a part he originated in the film of the same name. Hague also played a small role in the movie Space Jam (1996), as the psychiatrist that the Professional Basketball players go to when they lose their "skill".

Albert Hague - Fah Who Foraze, Dah Who Doraze (Welcome Christmas) MGM Records 1966
"Welcome Christmas" (also entitled "Fah Who Foraze, Dah Who Doraze") is the opening and closing song for the animated television Christmas special How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and also the finale for the live-action remake with music by Albert Hague and lyrics by Ted Geisel.
It plays three times in the animated story: at the very beginning as a prologue during the Grinch's monologue in the traditional verse style of Dr. Seuss' books, and on Christmas morning, when the Grinch believes he has ruined Christmas for Whoville—but, in fact, they celebrate Christmas anyway, even though he stole all their presents, decorations, and food. It is also incorporated within the final few lines of the final stanza of the poem.

It is also incorporated within the final few lines of the final stanza of the poem.
In the final scene of the live-action version, Cindy Lou Who intones the song after she discovers that the Grinch's icy heart has been melted, and soon all of Whoville — excluding Mayor Augustus May Who, who has just recently had his engagement to Martha May Whovier broken, because she had feelings for the Grinch — begin to join in. The Grinch (played by Jim Carrey) adds his own personal "twist" to the nonsense words by singing at first, "Fah Who Ray Moo, Yah Who Yee Haw".
Since the 1990s up until present-day, the song has been included in Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular, before the show culminates and concludes with the story of the "One Solitary Life".
