Like the Washington station, the northern extension of which was reconfigured as the Lake station, Jackson was originally double-length, with a third station mezzanine at Van Buren Street and Congress Parkway. The Van Buren-Congress mezzanine was closed on January 6, 1984, following the closure of the South Loop's main anchor, Sears, which had a direct entrance from the mezzanine. At the same time, the south end of the Jackson platform beyond the Jackson-Van Buren mezzanine was closed off with a plywood wall and both the platform area and mezzanine now remain, but abandoned. The street level entrances to the Van Buren-Congress mezzanine were removed when State Street was remodeled in 1997, replaced with access through grates, which can be seen on the sidewalks between Van Buren Street and Congress Parkway.
The Red Line is one of the two lines on the Dubai Metro network in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The first section was inaugurated on 9 September 2009. Construction was declared complete on 28 April 2010. The line has 29 stations spanning 52.1km (32.4mi), which have been opened in phases from 2009 to 2011. It runs from Al Rashidiya to Jebel Ali and travels along Sheikh Zayed Road for most of its length.

9 September 2009: Rashidiya-Nakheel Harbor & Tower (intermediate stations Airport Terminal 3, City Centre, Al Rigga, Union Square, Khalid Bin Al Waleed, Al Jaffiliya, Financial Centre, Mall of the Emirates) opened in a massive ceremony, and unveiled to the public the following day.
4 January 2010: Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station opened to the public on same day as inauguration of Burj Khalifa.
30 April 2010: Emirates Airline Station, Airport Terminal 1 Station, Al Karama Station, Emirates Towers Station, TECOM Station, Dubai Marina Station and Ibn Batutta Mall Station opened to passengers.
The Red Line, sometimes known as the Howard-Dan Ryan Line and the North-South Line, is a rapid transit line in Chicago, run by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) as part of the Chicago 'L' system. It is the busiest line on the "L" system, with an average of 251,813 passengers boarding each weekday in 2012. The route is 23.4 miles (37.7km) long with a total of 33 stations, from Howard station in Rogers Park on the north side, through the State Street subway and to 95th/Dan Ryan in Roseland on the south side. Like the Blue Line, the Red Line runs 24 hours a day/365 days a year, it is only one of six mass-transit rail systems in the United States to do so (the others being the PATCO Speedline, Staten Island Railway, the PATH lines, 1 line of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metro and the New York City Subway). A proposed extension would extend the Red Line south from 95th to 130th Street.

North Side Main Line
The northern terminus of the Red Line is Howard Street in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, on the north side. The Red Line extends southeasterly on an elevated embankment structure about a half-mile (1 kilometer) west of the lakefront to Touhy Avenue then turns south along Glenwood Avenue to Morse station. From there the route swings on a sweeping reverse curve to the east to Sheridan Road, adjacent to Loyola University Chicago and continues southerly parallel to Broadway to the east (in Edgewater) and follows Broadway to Leland Avenue. From here, the route transitions from concrete embankment to steel elevated structure. The 'L' continues southward running adjacent the Graceland Cemetery, Irving Park Road and Sheffield Avenue from Uptown to Lincoln Park. The Brown Line (Ravenswood) joins the Red Line tracks just north of Belmont Avenue.
The southwestern terminus of the Red Line is at Westmoreland Station in southwest Dallas at the intersection of Illinois Avenue and Westmoreland Road. The southwestern part of the Red Line runs on a private right-of-way with grade crossings. Just before 8th & Corinth, the line merges with the Blue Line. The joint Red and Blue Line tracks then rise on to a viaduct that crosses Cedar Creek, the Trinity River, and a freight railroad line. At Lamar Street, the line turns north at a wye where a pair of tracks leading to one of two train yards on the system diverges. The Red and Blue Lines continue north, crossing the Landry Freeway, travelling under the Dallas Convention Center and stop at Dallas Union Station. After crossing over Main Street, the lines turn east as they merge with the Green Line and Orange Line and enter downtown Dallas. At this point, the lines leave their right of ways and operate on a dedicated street-running right of way.
