Tim Weisberg (born 1943 in Hollywood, California) is an American jazz/rockfusionflautist, composer, producer, and vocalist. In high school, at his first music class, because his last name was at the end of the alphabet, he was last to pick an instrument. All that was left was the flute and the bassoon. He picked the flute because it was easier to carry, and because the flute section was all girls.
He released two collaborations with American singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg. Weisberg later sued Fogelberg for alleged breach of contract and fraud relating to the recording of the No Resemblance Whatsoever album.
In 1792, Henry Barter was granted land on the island, which by 1800 had a population of about 50 English and Scottish settlers. They subsisted by raising sheep, farming and fishing. In 1808, the island was the scene of a murder when smugglers shot and killed a federal customs officer. In the mid-19th century, the chief occupations were fishing and boatbuilding. On February 28, 1874, Isle au Haut was set off from Deer Isle and incorporated as a town.

Part 1: Camping Alone on an Island | Isle Au Haut, Maine | Backpacking in Acadia National Park
Three words: Duck Harbor Campground.
You can backpack in Acadia National Park? Yes, you can. Or, you can bring some cartfuls of gear onto the mailboat out to the island and make it more of a camping experience :) Whatever way you decide to experience it, camping on the Maine island of Isle Au Haut is an incredible experience. There are only 5 campsites in the Duck Harbor Campground, and they fill up within minutes when the reservations open. Yikes! The mailboat runs only a few months of the year as well. So how did I get here? I obsessively refreshed the recreation.gov webpage until I saw the amazing "A" appear (available) for a day that worked for me. YAY. And I got campsite five! ...the one with the private shore path and amazing views. Happy sigh. One of the coolest experiences! If you...

If you have any flexibility in your vacation or adventure plans, I highly recommend checking the site for cancelations starting 10 days out from when you'll be in the area. Otherwise, just taking the mailboat out to Duck Harbor for days hiking is also very cool (or just a boat ride is lovely as well, it's all so beautiful).
Thanks for subscribing and being a part of my journey! Means a lot to me.
