In the Studio is the third album from The Specials, released in 1984, long after the breakup of the original Specials. It charted in the UK Top 35.
The album was released under the name The Special AKA and was over two years in the making (hence the title). It was not as commercially successful as their previous two albums, although "(Free) Nelson Mandela" and "Racist Friend" became popular singles.
Track listing
All tracks composed by Jerry Dammers; except where indicated
The show is a weekly hour-long "rockumentary" interview with music program which looks at the making of many of the greatest albums recorded in rock and roll history, although sometimes it would spotlight the history of rock and roll bands. Redbeard interviews the musicians who created these albums.
The show first went on the air nationally the week of June 26, 1988, initially broadcast by sixty rock stations including WXRK/New York, KLOS/Los Angeles, WLUP/Chicago, WMMR/Philadelphia, KTXQ/Dallas, WHJY/Providence, WRIF/Detroit, KRQR/San Francisco, WKLS/Atlanta and distributed by The Album Network through 1999, which grew the network to 180 stations. "In the Studio" is now in its 23rd consecutive year, having passed the 1200 show mark in June 2011, and is distributed by Beardedfisch Productions.
Slovakia (i/sloʊˈvækiə, slə-, -ˈvɑː-/;Slovak:Slovensko[ˈsloʋensko]), officially the Slovak Republic (Slovak:Slovenská republika, listen), is a country in Central Europe. It is bordered by the Czech Republic and Austria to the west, Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east and Hungary to the south. Slovakia's territory spans about 49,000 square kilometres (19,000sqmi) and is mostly mountainous. The population is over 5 million and comprises mostly ethnic Slovaks. The capital and largest city is Bratislava. The official language is Slovak, a member of the Slavic language family.
Slovak wine is produced in the southern part of Slovakia, which is divided into 6 wine-producing areas.
Although Slovak wines except Tokaj are not well known internationally, they are popular domestically and in neighbouring countries.
History
During the time period when the Jagiellonian dynasty ruled the area as part of the Kingdom of Hungary and shortly thereafter, Hungary and Slovakia had similar levels of wine quality and were integrated in terms of production. Moreover, they were also connected to vineyards in France as part of an economy. According to David Gass, owner of Fleurs de Gas Vineyards and one of thousands of direct descendants of Janos Wass, King Louis II's illegitimate son – after Budapest fell and King Louis II died at the Battle of Mohács, Janos (In Hungarian) was granted vineyards to produce wine in Bratislava. Some of the Wass family subsequently migrated to France, joining the wine country economy there.
The 2004 European election was the sixth election to the European Parliament. However, as Slovakia had only joined the European Union earlier that month, it was the first European election held in that state. The election took place on June 13.

The city's history has been strongly influenced by people of different nations and religions. It is the political, cultural and economic centre of Slovakia.
We had a late lunch at Café Studio. The place was built in 1886 as a textile shop. In the 60s and 70s, it was turned into a music theatre and Opus recording studio. In 2001 it was turned into a café. The interior decorations consist mainly of old vinyl discs and photographs that recall the period when Slovak pop music were at the beginning of their careers. The food we had was Bryndzové halušky and Kapustové strapačky. Really really yummy.
We walked around the city for a couple of hours and noticed that the city gets busier in the late afternoon – bars were filled with people drinking and talking, and the younger generation was buzzing the city. A group of (what I suspect was) newly graduates (?) – they had pictures of their faces posted on a piece of cardboard and were walking and cheering around the city asking for money. Another group wandering in black and white were a rugby support group – it seems that the Bratislava rugby will have a tournament the day after.
Bratislava Castle
To get to the castle we needed (of course) to go uphill. The signboards were pretty clear as long as the beer signs doesn’t lure you into any of the cafés. The main castle of Bratislava consists of 4 towers, one on each corner, and a courtyard. It stands on a hill overlooking the city. It was built in the 9th century and is an agelong symbol of the city. Eleven kings and 8 queens were crowned here in the past. Unfortunately we came after visiting hours so we couldn’t go inside. But everything else is accessible to public, the beautiful garden included. If you are lucky, you may even catch a nice sunset!
Cumil
Cumil is a statue made of bronze – and he is very famous. He is either resting after a long day cleaning the sewer ooorrr is just looking under women’s skirts. Either way he seems looks relaxed and happy. I could barely get a video of him without people posing behind.
First song
The first song was the national anthem of Slovak Republic: Nad Tatrou sa blýska - Lightning over the Tatras. It was written by Janko Matúška in 1844 and adopted in 1993.
