"I Miss You" is a R&B/Hip hop song written by Webbie, Mouse and Mannie Fresh for Webbie's second studio album, Savage Life 2 (2008). The song samples Diana Ross' "Missing You", and features LeToya Luckett. It was originally going to feature singer Kelis, but she was replaced for unknown reasons. While the song is about Webbie being on the road and looking forward to returning home to his woman, it is dedicated to Houston rappers that recently have died, mainly for UGK member Pimp C. The song was leaked to the internet on February 5, 2008 and was officially released (for commercial purposes) on March 10, 2008.
Music video
The video was shot in Brooklyn, New York, and was directed by Edwin Decena, who also directed videos for artists such as Plies' "Shawty", Jaheim's "Never", Rich Boy's "Let's Get This Paper" and others. Although Luckett is not physically present in the video (due to her being part of JD Lawernce's play Rumors), cameo appearances are made by Rick Ross and Lil Phat among others.
This song is dedicated to DMX's grandmother, Mary Ella Holloway. Faith Evans sings a verse which recites Amazing Grace. The verse from Faith Evans is sang to add to the mood of the song. It is almost to imply that DMX was lost, but found his way in life after realising his potential.
The song was written using the same method with which the band wrote "Feeling This"; namely, DeLonge and Hoppus would discuss themes and then set off to separate rooms of the home to write alone. The two would first have a discussion about the themes of the song "so that we were on the same page," and then they would go away to write, putting both parts together at the end. "Mark was always really, really good with words, so a lot of times I would ask him for help with things, to get help with how I say things better […] But we never really explained song meanings to each other," said DeLonge. Hoppus referenced Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas at the request of Barker, who directed the line toward his then-wife, Shanna Moakler.
WebbIE is a freewareweb browser designed for screen reader users. It re-presents web pages as text with a caret, allowing users to use their existing screen reader or assistive technology to read it, but is not self-voicing, unlike (for example) Home Page Reader.
History
WebbIE was developed as a student project at the Department of Computation at UMIST. It was first released in 2002 and has been under development and release since. It is often bundled with the LookOUT screen reader and Thunder screen reader.
Technology
WebbIE uses the Microsoft WebBrowser ActiveX control to fetch and parse web pages into the W3CDOM and MSHTML DOM. It then iterates through the DOM creating a text representation. The implications of this include:
There is a delay between the WebBrowser control rendering the web page for sighted people and presenting the DOM to WebbIE to process. WebbIE can only access the DOM when all images and other embedded content have been rendered, which for some slow or media-heavy sites can take time.
