James Travis "Jim" Reeves (August 20, 1923–July 31, 1964) was an American country and popular music singer-songwriter. With records charting from the 1950s to the 1980s, he became well known as a practitioner of the Nashville sound (a mixture of older country-style music with elements of popular music). Known as "Gentleman Jim", his songs continued to chart for years after his death. Reeves died in the crash of a private airplane. He is a member of both the Country Music and Texas Country Music Halls of Fame.

Early life and education
Reeves was born in Galloway, Texas, a small rural community near Carthage. Winning an athletic scholarship to the University of Texas, he enrolled to study speech and drama, but quit after only six weeks to work in the shipyards in Houston. Soon he resumed baseball, playing in the semi-professional leagues before contracting with the St. Louis Cardinals "farm" team during 1944 as a right-handed pitcher. He played for the minor leagues for three years before severing his sciatic nerve while pitching, which ended his athletic career.
"I Know (I Know)" is a song written by John Lennon released on his 1973 album Mind Games. The song is included on the 1998 box set, John Lennon Anthology. Lennon called the song, "just a piece of nothing," though some have read the song as a confession of troubles with his relationship with Yoko Ono.

JIM REEVES WITH ARNE BENONI IS A SMASH SUCCESS!
Popular Norwegian singer Arne Benoni recently got the thrill of a lifetime by singing posthumously with the great Jim Reeves on a new rendition of the song "I Know One," released on a new 2-CD set called "Jim Reeves: The New Recording." The 144-minute documentary, narrated by Dan Hurst, traces Jim's evolution from east Texas farm boy to international singing star. It is based on the 672-page award-winning book, "Jim Reeves: His Untold Story," by American author Larry Jordan, who also provides commentary. Included are over 42 Reeves tracks, including 20 new "overdubs" of RCA masters that fans have not heard before. In addition, there are 11 overdubs of new songs and alternate versions that made their debut on U.S.-based VoiceMasters (but are now out of print or hard to get), revealing new interviews with Mr. Reeves, new in-concert performances by Jim never previously available, new material from his long-lost network radio show, and even a recording that Jim made on his bus that until now has never seen commercial release.
The project is a joint venture between H&H Music in the U.K. and the American indie label Once In A Blue Moon Records, and was released and manufactured in Europe. Producer Larry Jordan commented that "Leo Jackson, Jim Reeves' long-time guitarist, told me that of all the singers who have done Reeves songs, Arne Benoni's voice came the closest to matching Jim's vocals. I couldn't think of anyone better to add harmony to one of Jim Reeves' vocals than Mr. Benoni. He has a true love for and understanding of Reeves' approach to a song, such that he was able to provide the perfect complement to Jim's mellow baritone by applying his own fine voice to a new arrangement. Fans are thrilled by the result!"
Besides singing on one track, Benoni also played guitar and mandolin on five tracks, including country standards like "Just Call Me Lonesome," and "A Fool Such As I," as well as religious numbers like "How Long Has It Been" and "Padre of Old San Antone." Norway's Arne Vigeland, also played steel; Thor Einar Ribe, played keyboards; and Peter Lundell, did engineering on some of the tracks.
Various other U.S. musicians, background singers and orchestrators were involved in taking Jim Reeves' original vocals, stripping them down to the bare essentials, digitally remastering them for better clarity, and then adding new accompaniment (consistent with Jim's own preferences), to give these recordings a fresh sound. Critics and fans alike have praised this endeavor as a superb and very rare product, and far superior to the re-issues that predominate the marketplace
Arne Benoni commented: "My initial interest for Country Music started back in my childhood days, when I first heard Jim Reeves on the radio. This interest eventually led to my own career as a country artist.
Playing guitar and getting to sing harmony with Jim on this project was exiting (and a little daunting as well). I hope you'll enjoy this album half as much as I did working on it".
