Gail Davies (born Patricia Gail Dickerson June 5, 1948) is an American singer/songwriter and the first female record producer in the history of country music. She is the daughter of country singer Tex Dickerson and the sister of songwriter Ron Davies.
Gail Davies established herself as a successful singer and songwriter during the 1970s and 1980s, scoring numerous Top 10 and Top 20 Billboard hits. She was one of country music's most influential artists, becoming the genre's first female record producer. She has been cited as a role model for other female singers, including Suzy Bogguss, Kathy Mattea, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Pam Tillis. Gail's son, Chris Scruggs, is a former co-lead singer and guitarist for the roots-country band BR549.
Early life and career
Gail Davies was born Patricia Gail Dickerson in Broken Bow, Oklahoma on June 5, 1948. Her father was a popular country singer in the 1940s, performing in and around the Texas/Oklahoma region and occasionally appearing on The Louisiana Hayride. Although born in the South, Gail grew up in Washington State, where her mother remarried. Her last name was changed when she and her two brothers were adopted by their stepfather, Darby Davies. After graduating from high school, Gail moved to Los Angeles and married a jazz musician. She briefly sang jazz, but quit after they divorced. She was later hired as a session singer at A&M Records, working with artists such as Neil Young and Hoyt Axton and Glen Campbell. She was able to sit in on a John Lennon session, produced by Phil Spector, and was befriended by songwriter, Joni Mitchell. Mitchell's engineer, Henry Lewy, taught Gail how to produce records. She was invited to tour Europe with Frank Zappa, but turned the offer down to work with country artist Roger Miller, making her television debut as his singing partner on The Merv Griffin Show. A clip of their performance is now available on YouTube.
"I Don't Know Why" (sometimes listed as "I Don't Know Why I Love You") is a 1968 song by American singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder, from the album For Once in My Life (1968). It also serves as the B-side for the 1969 hit "My Cherie Amour". It peaked at No. 39 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song was recorded when Wonder was 18 years old, and became a moderate hit single, together with "You Met Your Match", another song from the album.

CNBLUE (Korean:씨엔블루) is a South Korean pop rock band formed in Seoul. The lineup originally consisted of Jung Yong-hwa (leader, guitar, main vocals, rap), Lee Jong-hyun (guitar, vocals), Kang Min-hyuk (drums), and Kwon Kwang-jin (bass), and they released their debut Japanese mini-albumNow or Never in 2009. The music was written by Fred E. Ahlert, the lyrics by Roy Turk. The song was published in 1931. It had three periods of great popularity: in 1931, right after its publication; in 1946; and in 1961. into 1962.
In 1931, the biggest-selling version was either by Russ Columbo or by Wayne King; both versions and recordings by Bennie Krueger's orchestra (with a vocal by Smith Ballew) and by Kate Smith all had significant popularity.
In 1946, three versions, by Tommy Dorsey's orchestra (with a vocal by Stuart Foster), by Frank Sinatra, and by Skinnay Ennis, all contended for popularity.
In 1961, a US hit recording was issued by Linda Scott. It reached a peak position #12 in 8 weeks on the Billboard chart; in early 1962, Eden Kane reached the British Top 10 with his version.
The song has been recorded by many artists (ranging from country-blues legends like Moon Mullican and Jerry Lee Lewis, to swing legends Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin) and is now a standard.

I waited 'til I saw the sun
I don't know why I didn't come
I left you by the house of fun
I don't know why I didn't come
I don't know why I didn't come
When I saw the break of day
I wished that I could fly away
Instead of kneeling in the sand
Catching teardrops in my hand
My heart is drenched in wine
But you'll be on my mind
Forever
Out across the endless sea
I would die in ecstasy
But I'll be a bag of bones
Driving down the road alone
My heart is drenched in wine
But you'll be on my mind
Forever
Something has to make you run
I don't know why I didn't come
I feel as empty as a drum
I don't know why I didn't come
I don't know why I didn't come...

Boulevard - Dan Byrd
I don't know why
You said goodbye
Just let me know you didn't go
Forever my love
Please tell me why
You make me cry
I beg you please I'm on my knees
If that's what you want me to
Never knew that it would go so far
When you left me on that boulevard
Come again you would release my pain
And we could be lovers again
Just one more chance
Another dance
And let me feel it isn't real
That I've been losing you
This sun will rise
Within your eyes
Come back to me and we will be
Happy together
Never knew that it would go so far
When you left me on that boulevard
Come again you would release my pain
And we could be lovers again
Maybe today
I'll make you stay
A little while just for a smile
And love together
For I will show
A place I know
In Tokyo where we could be

You say that nobody cares where you're going And that your life don't mean nothing at all You've heard the saying 'you reap what you're sowin' So plant a good seed and watch it grow tall Somewhere a man's got no woman to turn to Somewhere a woman is lonely and blue Somewhere a child's got no momma to hold her Someone is looking for someone like youYou've said there's no road that you care to travel Nothing to say that ain't been said before And lies a mystery that you can't unravel Well that's the key that will open that door Think of all the time you waste complaining Think of all the good that could be done Think of all the friends you could be gaining
