Sir Elton Hercules John, CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin as his songwriting partner since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums to date. In his five-decade career Elton John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, including seven consecutive No. 1 US albums, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10, four No. 2 and nine No. 1. For 31 consecutive years (1970–2000) he had at least one song in the Billboard Hot 100. His single "Candle in the Wind 1997" sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts. He has also composed music, produced records, and has occasionally acted in films. John owned Watford Football Club from 1976 to 1987, and 1997 to 2002. He is an honorary Life President of the club, and in 2014 had a stand named after him at the club's home stadium.
Elton John (born April 8th, 1987 in Trinidad and Tobago) is a football player playing professionally for Central FC. He has played once internationally for Trinidad and Tobago, and plays as a Central Defender.
Elton John made his Trinidad and Tobago debut on February 29th, 2012, in a 4-0 win against Antigua and Barbuda.
Elton John is the second album by English singer-songwriter Elton John, released in 1970. However, because it was his first album released in America, many people there assumed it was his first album, as Empty Sky was not released in the US until 1975. Elton John includes his breakthrough hit, "Your Song", and helped to establish his career during what was considered the "singer-songwriter" era of popular music. In the US, it was certified gold in February 1971 by the RIAA. In the same year, it was nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
In 2003, the album was ranked No. 468 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. This was the first of many Elton John albums produced by Gus Dudgeon. On 27 November 2012, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame as an album cited as exhibiting "qualitative or historical significance".
All songs written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
"I Don't Care" is a song by Elton John with lyrics by Gary Osborne. It is the third track off his 1978 album, A Single Man.
It is one of the fastest song of the album, coming in between many slow songs. It starts with a bluesy piano pattern, with the rhythm section kicking off after the first line is played. The chorus is backed by female vocalists, singing it in style with one of John's most loved genres, gospel. The electric guitar features a heavily used phaser-effect that gives the song a spacy feel. After the first half of the song, a string section comes in, playing with both the guitars and the beat, reminiscent of the disco-music that was popular at the time. The song then fades out clocking at almost four and a half minutes.
It is very reminiscent to one of his other songs from the album, "Part-Time Love".
It is another one of Osborne's love songs, this time it deals with a man who doesn't care about anything just as long as he can get the love of the person mentioned. It is by many considered to be a classic album-filler.
The Best in Town is the second album to by Welsh post-hardcore band The Blackout. The album was released on 25 May 2009 in Europe, and 23 June 2009 in the USA. The track listing for the entire album was released by the band via their Myspace blog.
"ShutTheFuckUppercut" was first played on BBC Radio 1, where it was announced it would be released as a free download in April. This free download was actually offered for less than a week from 26 March but was released as a digital single from 30 March. "Children of the Night" was the album's lead single, and was played for the first time on Radio 1 on 13 April 2009. The music video was released on Wednesday 15 April on MTV's website. The studio recording features vocals from the Year 6 class of Herolgerrig Primary School, Merthyr Tydfil, where the band is from.
The video for "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things (I Don't Care)" was recorded at the Islington o2 Academy on 5 September 2009. The video features Josh Franceschi of You Me At Six, as well as members of Kids In Glass Houses and Young Guns.
"I Don't Care" is a 1905 song, words by Jean Lenox, music by Harry O. Sutton, originally performed by Eva Tanguay, becoming her most famous song. It was published by Jerome H. Remick & Co., New York, performed in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1909 and recorded by Eva Tanguay in 1922. It was also recorded by Judy Garland, Mitzi Gaynor and Eydie Gorme among others, sometimes with additional lyrics.
"I DON’T CARE" (1905) Words by Jean Lenox
VERSE:
They say I’m crazy, got no sense,
But I don’t care,
They may or may not mean offense,
But I don’t care,
You see I’m sort of independent,
Of a clever race descendent,
My star is on the ascendant,
That’s why I don’t care.
CHORUS:
I don’t care, I don’t care,
What they may think of me,
I’m happy go lucky,
Men say I am plucky,
So jolly and care free,
I don’t care, I don’t care,
If I do get the mean and stony stare,
If I’m never successful,
It won’t be distressful,
‘Cos I don’t care.
VERSE:
Some people say I think I’m it,
But I don’t care,
They say they don’t like me a bit,
But I don’t care,
You see I’m sort of independent,
Of a clever race descendant,
My star is on the ascendant,
That’s why I don’t care.
"I Don't Care" is a song by Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin from his eighth studio album, Life (2005). It was released on September 13, 2005, as the album's lead single. The original English version of the song features rapper Fat Joe and R&B singer Amerie, while its Spanish version, "Qué Más Da" ("Who Cares"), replaces Amerie's vocals with Debi Nova's. Martin performed "I Don't Care" at the 2006 Winter Olympics closing ceremony.
The music videos for "I Don't Care" and "Qué Más Da" were filmed in Brooklyn, New York City, and directed by Diane Martel. The video for the English version features Fat Joe and Amerie, and the Spanish version features Fat Joe and Debi Nova. Both videos premiered simultaneously in September 2005.
"I Don't Care" peaked at number sixty-five on the US Billboard Hot 100, thanks to its digital downloads (number forty-two on the Hot Digital Songs). It was well received on the Hot Dance Club Play, reaching number three. It also peaked at number forty-nine on the Pop 100 and "Qué Más Da" reached number seven on the Hot Latin Songs. The song had sold 124,000 digital copies in the United States as of January 2011.
