Eric Burdon & War - Spill The Wine (1970)
War (originally called Eric Burdon and War) is an American funk-rock band from Long Beach, California, known for several hit songs (including "Spill the Wine", "The World Is a Ghetto", "The Cisco Kid", "Why Can't We Be Friends?", "Low Rider", and "Summer"). Formed in 1969, War is a musical crossover band that fuses elements of rock, funk, jazz, Latin, rhythm and blues, and reggae. Their album The World Is a Ghetto was Billboard's best-selling album of 1973. The band transcended racial and cultural barriers with a multi-ethnic line-up. War was subject to many line-up changes over the course of its existence, leaving member Leroy "Lonnie" Jordan as the only original member in the current line-up; four other members created a new group called the Lowrider Band.

Here are the official The Animals House Of The Rising Sun / House Of The Rising Sun The Animals Lyrics:
[Chorus]
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one
[Verse 1]
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans
[Verse2]
Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and a trunk
And the only time he'll be satisfied
Is when he's all drunk
[Organ Solo]
[Verse 3]
Oh, mother, tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun
[Verse 4]
Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain
[Chorus]
Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

The Eric Burdon Band -- Sun Secrets 1974
Lyrics
Baby, do you understand me now
Sometimes I feel a little mad
But don't you know that no one alive
Can always be an angel
When things go wrong I seem to be bad
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Baby, sometimes I'm so carefree
With a joy that's hard to hide
And sometimes it seems that all I have do is worry
Then you're bound to see my other side
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
If I seem edgy I want you to know
That I never mean to take it out on you
Life has it's problems and I get my share
And that's one thing I never meant to do
Because I love you
Oh, Oh baby don't you know I'm human
Have thoughts like any other one
Sometimes I find myself long regretting
Some foolish thing some little simple thing I've done
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

JANUARY 29, 2021 - Very sad news that legendary guitarist with The Animals HILTON VALENTINE has died. What can you say about this man who gave us so much in the world of rock n roll... it's hard to summarise but he was a beautiful, great, influential guitarist who blessed us with his talent and flair with so many unforgettable and legendary performances. Chuck Berry (!) once described Hilton Valentine as "a wildly exciting instrumentalist" - absolutely yes! as there was so much more to Hilton than House of the Rising Sun, please check out Hilton's stormin' performances on album tracks and live performances and you would soon hear why Chuck Berry would acknowledge Hilton in this way. Let it Rock! Hilton Rockin' Daddy! we loved and admired you and forevermore thank you for all your innovative contributions to rock n roll and for your presence. Rest in Peace and Love Forever! (From your loving fan, Magusmagic).
ERIC BURDON has paid tribute to his fellow band member - 'The opening opus of Rising Sun will never sound the same!... You didn’t just play it, you lived it! Heartbroken by the sudden news of Hilton’s passing. We had great times together, Geordie lad. From the North Shields to the entire world...Rock In Peace'.

Which Clans Fought at Bannockburn?
Edit*** Most Chisholms sources claim Sir John de Chesholme fought for Robert at the battle with the exception on Scotsclans which states "listing the supporters of England’s Edward I mentions Richard de Cheschelme and John de Cheshome." as stated the lannercost Chronicle states many families were of split loyalties this may be the case here.
Here is my attempt at correlating as much information on the families and clans that fought at Bannockburn and turning it into easy to read bitesize chunks, i realise there is alot of reading id recommended pausing i have placed all of it alphabetically to help you find the name you are looking for.

Dominion Geordies in World War 1 | James McConnel
The superb divisions of troops supplied by Britain's Dominions in the First World War comprised a surprisingly high proportion of men from the UK. Research has suggested as many as 25% of the ANZACs and troops in the CEF were born in the UK. How many of these men were from England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland is more difficult to establish. Even more difficult is any idea of those who hailed from specific regions of Britain.
In this presentation James McConnel looks at men from the north east of England....
From Fromelles to Gallipoli, Geordies served in many of the British Empire's dominion forces. Perhaps the most famous of these men was Jack Simpson (the 'Man with the Donkey' at Gallipoli).
In this video, James McConnel will look at case studies of men from the north east of England...

The Untold Truth Of Muddy Waters
Muddy Waters is one of the true icons of the blues. From his childhood in rural 1910's Mississippi to his place at the forefront of the Chicago blues scene, Waters was a first class musician and a profound influence on the electric guitar music that came after him. When the Blues started to peter out in the United States, the first wave of British rock and roll musicians saw Muddy Waters and a primary influence, and were more than happy to collaborate with him on stage and in recordings. Till the day he died, Waters was plugged into popular music, even if he was no longer the driving force behind the newest style. There's a lot more to learn about this 20th century icon. Here's the untold truth of Muddy Waters.

The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

In this video, James McConnel will look at case studies of men from the north east of England who served in the Australian, New Zealand, Canadian and Newfoundland forces during the First World War. This is part of a much larger story of ‘Geordie’ migration that started long before
1914.
