Andrew is the English form of a given name common in many countries. In the 1990s it was among the top ten most popular names for boys in English-speaking countries. In Italian, the equivalent to "Andrew" is "Andrea", though "Andrea" is feminine in most other languages. "Andrew" is frequently shortened to "Andy" or "Drew".
The word is derived from the Greek:Ανδρέας, Andreas, itself related to Ancient Greek: ἀνήρ/ἀνδρόςaner/andros, "man" (as opposed to "woman"), thus meaning "manly" and, as consequence, "strong", "courageous", and "warrior". In the King James Bible, the Greek "Ἀνδρέας" is translated as Andrew.
Popularity
Australia
In 2000, the name Andrew was the second most popular name in Australia. In 1999, it was the 19th most common name, while in 1940, it was the 31st most common name. Andrew was the first most popular boys name in the Northern Territory in 2003 to 2015 and continuing. In Victoria, Andrew was the first most popular name for a boy in the 1970s.
Canada
Andrew was the 20th most popular name chosen for male infants in 2005.
Andrew was the 16th most popular name for infants in British Columbia in 2004, the 17th most popular name in 2003, and the 19th most popular name in 2002. In 2001, it was the 18th most common name. From 1999 – 2003, Andrew was the sixth most often chosen name for a boy.
Andrew Wells is the younger brother of Tucker Wells, who summoned hellhounds to attack the Prom in the Season Three episode "The Prom". Andrew himself has skills in demon-summoning and animal control, although these were never used after Season Six; in the Buffy finale "Chosen" he credits his brother with having given him the courage to develop this talent.
At some point during Buffy's senior year in high school, he summoned "flying demon monkeys" to attack Sunnydale High's production of Romeo and Juliet, apparently for no other reason than to amuse himself. Years after the fact, both Jonathan (Danny Strong) and Warren (Adam Busch) recall the incident with amusement; since Warren, Buffy's contemporary, is known to have spent only his senior year at Sunnydale High (he attended the prom to which Tucker sent the hellhounds), his memory of the occasion proves that it occurred during his senior year, which was also Buffy's. The Scooby Gang have no memory of this whatsoever; viewers are left with the impression that the attack ranks among any number of less-memorable supernatural incidents which plagued Sunnydale. They also have no recollection of who Andrew is, until he informs them of his relation to Tucker. This becomes a running joke, as from then on, he is often referred to as "the other guy," "Tucker's brother," and so on.
She has toured internationally with The Weeknd and was also nominated for the Sound of 2014 award by the BBC and an MTV Brand New Nominee in 2014. On May 3, 2014, Banks was dubbed as an "Artist to Watch" by FoxWeekly.
Early life
Jillian Rose Banks was born in Orange County, California. Banks started writing songs at the age of fifteen. She taught herself piano when she received a keyboard from a friend to help her through her parents' divorce. She says she "felt very alone and helpless. I didn't know how to express what I was feeling or who to talk to."
Career
2013–present: Breakthrough and Goddess
Banks used the audio distribution website SoundCloud to put out her music before securing a record deal. Her friend Lily Collins used her contacts to pass along her music to people in the industry; specifically Katy Perry's DJ Yung Skeeter, and she began working with the label Good Years Recordings. Her first official single, called "Before I Ever Met You" was released in February 2013. The song which had been on a private SoundCloud page ended up being played by BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe. Banks released her first EP Fall Over by IAMSOUND Records and Good Years Recordings.Billboard called her a "magnetic writer with songs to obsess over." Banks released her second EP called London by Harvest Records and Good Years Recordings in 2013 to positive reviews from music critics, receiving a 78 from Metacritic. Her song "Waiting Game" from the EP was featured in the 2013 Victoria's Secret holiday commercial.
Brain is a medicalthriller written by Robin Cook. It describes how a future generation of computers will work hard-wired to human brains.
Plot
The story starts with a girl Kathereine Collins going to a private GYN clinic, located in Manhattan, New York, where she is undergoing treatment for some Gynac ailments. Simultaneously she has started having seizures where in she smells a repulsive and oddly familiar odor and then loses consciousness. She wants to withdraw her records from this clinic and move onto her hometown to her family doctor. While on her way back, she faints at the elevators. The next scene shows her parents visiting her apartment and the cops searching the room as she has been missing for some days now. The story revolves around the protagonist Dr. Martin Philips from then on, who is a doctor in neuroradiology at the NYC medical center. Dr. Martin Philips, a 41-year-old neuroradiologist is involved in creating a self-diagonstic x-ray machine, along with Michaels, who is a researcher graduating from MIT and also head of the department of artificial intelligence. Dr. Philips's girlfriend and colleague Dr. Denise Sanger (28 years old) is also involved in the same hospital.
This is a list of characters that are featured in the PBS Kids television show, Arthur. The show is based on the book series by Marc Brown.
Arthur, the title character,
is the main character of the series. The main supporting characters are D.W., Buster, Francine, Muffy, Binky, the Brain, Mr. Ratburn, and Arthur's parents. Over the years, the roles of each character have changed as more episodes focused on characters besides Arthur or D.W., most notably Buster, Francine, Muffy, Binky, and the Brain. Minor supporting characters such as Sue Ellen, George, and Fern have also had expanded roles in the series.
Like The Simpsons and many other cartoon series, characters in the Arthur series do not age in order to maintain the status quo, although their universe does age in parallel to the real world. Ages presented in this article are their ages in most of the episodes. Their ages do change occasionally and temporarily like in flashback scenes, future scenes, and birthday parties.

ANDREW
(muz. i sł. Julia Marcell)
Drogi Andrew z portalu randkowego,
jak opisać siebie w tysiącu słowach?
Jestem jedną z tych dziewczyn,
którym zawsze zimno
sypiam w swetrach w lipcu,
pod kocem się chowam.
Jestem jedną z tych osób, co prawdopodobnie
wybiorą rozwiązanie najbardziej wygodne,
choć w przyzwyczajeniu do pewnego komfortu
odzywają się czasem jakieś żądze pierwotne.
I czasem myślę,
jak dziwnie,
jak dziwnie
być człowiekiem
i bać się
ducha własnego
i nie móc nic.
Drogi Alejandro z Pharmaco w Chile
wszystko co na zawsze trochę mnie przeraża,
jak tapeta na ścianie pańskiego gabinetu,
choć na zdjęciu w kitlu pan uśmiecha się tak miło.

How computers learn to recognize objects instantly | Joseph Redmon
Ten years ago, researchers thought that getting a computer to tell the difference between a cat and a dog would be almost impossible. Today, computer vision systems do it with greater than 99 percent accuracy. How? Joseph Redmon works on the YOLO (You Only Look Once) system, an open-source method of object detection that can identify objects in images and video -- from zebras to stop signs -- with lightning-quick speed. In a remarkable live demo, Redmon shows off this important step forward for applications like self-driving cars, robotics and even cancer detection.

"Here we present a general supervised framework for record deduplication and author-disambiguation via Spark. This work differentiates itself by - Application of Databricks and AWS makes this a scalable implementation. Compute resources are comparably lower than traditional legacy technology using big boxes 24/7. Scalability is crucial as Elsevier's Scopus data, the biggest scientific abstract repository, covers roughly 250 million authorships from 70 million abstracts covering a few hundred years. - We create a fingerprint for each content by deep learning and/or word2vec algorithms to expedite pairwise similarity calculation. These encoders substantially reduce compute time while maintaining semantic similarity (unlike traditional TFIDF or predefined taxonomies). We will briefly discuss how to optimize word2vec training with high parallelization. Moreover, we show how these encoders can be used to derive a standard representation for all our entities namely such as documents, authors, users, journals, etc. This standard representation can simplify the recommendation problem into a pairwise similarity search and hence it can offer a basic recommender for cross-product applications where we may not have a dedicate recommender engine designed. - Traditional author-disambiguation or record deduplication algorithms are batch-processing with small to no training data. However, we have roughly 25 million authorships that are manually curated or corrected upon user feedback. Hence, it is crucial to maintain historical profiles and hence we have developed a machine learning implementation to deal with data streams and process them in mini batches or one document at a time. We will discuss how to measure the accuracy of such a system, how to tune it and how to process the raw data of pairwise similarity function into final clusters. Lessons learned from this talk can help all sort of companies where they want to integrate their data or deduplicate their user/customer/product databases.

In this episode of “Keen On”, Andrew is joined by Yanis Varoufakis, the author of “Another Now: Dispatches from an Alternative Present”, to paint the picture of a world where a global hi-tech uprising has birthed a post-capitalist society in which work, money, land, digital networks and politics have been truly democratised.
Yanis Varoufakis is an economist and politician who, as Greece’s finance minister in 2015, led the struggle against the European Union’s and the International Monetary Fund’s austerity and bank bailout policies. Since then he co-founded DiEM25 (the Democracy in Europe Movement) and is the leader of MeRA25, DiEM25’s political party in Greece. Before his election to Greece’s Parliament, Varoufakis taught economics in universities in Britain, Australia, the United States and Greece for three decades. He holds a chair in economic theory at the University of Athens and is Honorary Professor of Political Economy at the University of Sydney, Honoris Causa Professor of Law, Economics and Finance at the University of Torino, Visiting Professor of Political Economy at King’s College, London, and Doctor of the University Honoris Causa at the University of Sussex.

Mixture models are a probabilistically-sound way to do soft clustering. We assume our data is sampled from K different sources (probability distributions). The expectation maximisation (EM) algorithm allows us to discover the parameters of these distributions, and figure out which point comes from each source at the same time.
