Born on her sister Rebbie's 6th birthday on May 29, 1956, in Gary, Indiana, La Toya Jackson is the fifth of nine children born to Joseph Jackson and Katherine Jackson and the middle female child between Rebbie and Janet. Growing up, La Toya was a shy homeperson. After her mother became a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses in 1965, La Toya, along with the rest of her siblings followed, but most of the children are no longer associated with Jehovah's Witnesses. She would spend some of her time (alongside her mother) preaching door-to-door. "Every morning, Michael and I witnessed, knocking on doors around Los Angeles, spreading the word of Jehovah." By 1972, at sixteen, La Toya joined her brothers in the spotlight with a tap dancing routine when her father arranged for them to perform shows in Las Vegas, among other cities. Jackson aspired to be an attorney specializing in business law. She attended college for a short time before her father insisted that she pursue a career in show business like the rest of the family.
La Toya Jackson is the self-titled debut album from American singer La Toya Jackson. It was released in 1980 in America and mainland Europe. The album is most known for "Night Time Lover", a track produced by La Toya's brother Michael Jackson, who provides background vocals on the refrain. The album peaked at #116 on the Billboard 200, #26 on the Billboard R&B charts, and #178 in the UK. It spawned two singles: "If You Feel the Funk" and "Night Time Lover".
Album information
In order to distinguish herself from her famous brothers, The Jacksons, La Toya only wanted her first name on the album. "I begged just to have it 'La Toya'. But my father said, 'It's your last name. You got to use it.' But I wanted to see what I could do as an individual."
The album was re-issued on CD in Japan in 1992. A successful petition was gathered by her fans at ChurchofLaToya.com to persuade the label, Cherry Pop, to re-release her debut album on CD for the first time in the UK. It was re-released on May 22, 2006.
"Home" is a sentimental ballad by La Toya Jackson which first appeared on the 2003 promotional copy her album Startin' Over. Jackson released the single on July 28, 2009 in dedication to her younger brother, Michael Jackson, who died on June 25. All proceeds will go to AIDS Project Los Angeles, one of Michael's favorite charities.
Song information
"Home" is an autobiographical song describing life in the Jackson family and the closeness once shared among Jackson and her siblings. A press release describes the song as being "written with affection about her childhood memories and based on the premise that no matter where you are or what you are going through in your life, you can always go Home." It is notable for a bursting refrain reminiscent of the achingly climactic verse heard in Simon and Garfunkel's signature tune "Homeward Bound." The lyrics hint at Jackson's exile from the family in the early 1990s when she was under the control of abusive manager Jack Gordon. Jackson expresses remorse over the "many years that we let pass" having been "parted by the fame we grew to only know." The song alludes also to La Toya's affectionate pet name for Michael, "Joker."
La Toya (also known as You're Gonna Get Rocked!) is the fifth studio album by American singer La Toya Jackson released on October 25, 1988 by RCA. While the cover and box states the album's name as La Toya, the actual disc and cassette tape state the name as You're Gonna Get Rocked!. Therefore, the album is interchangeably referred to by both names.
The album was re-released as an expanded 2-CD set under the name You're Gonna Get Rocked! by Cherry Pop Records in December 2013.
Album information
La Toya was the first album Jackson released since terminating father Joe Jackson as her manager and signing with a new label, RCA. Jackson's musical goal was to evolve her teen pop sound to something more substantial. "I know what I wanted to do, I always wanted a street sound. Michael kept saying 'Do it, move away, do your own sound.' That's why I moved to New York, to stop living in a fantasy world, get out of my sheltered life. As far as I'm concerned, it's my first album."

I love this song so much, and I cry basically every time I hear it. I made this video with all my love for Michael. He is my hero, my inspiration, and my admiration. I love and miss him so much. He's just another part of me ;)
And all you haters out there, please do not comment because Michael was only a man of peace and love, and we do not need your ignorant and rude thoughts.
