Hillman Periodicals, Inc. was an Americanmagazine and comic bookpublishing company founded in 1938 by Alex L. Hillman, a former New York Citybook publisher. It is best known for its true confession and true crime magazines; for the long-running general-interest magazine Pageant; and for comic books including Air Fighters Comics and its successor Airboy Comics, which launched the popular characters Airboy and The Heap.
Company history
Founding
In the late 1930s and early 1940s, Hillman competed with Bernarr Macfadden and Fawcett Publications by publishing comics, true confessions magazines (Real Story, Real Confessions, Real Romances) and crime magazines (Crime Detective, Real Detective, Crime Confessions).
In 1948 Hillman began publishing paperback books. There were several series of abridged mystery and western novels published in the larger 'digest' size. The long-running Hillman paperbacks first appeared in 1948 and lasted until 1961.
Pageant and Airboy
In 1944, Hillman launched a digest-sized, general-interest, "slick" (glossy paper) magazine, Pageant, with an initial print run of 500,000 copies. To obtain the paper during World War II wartime rationing, Hillman ended his detective magazines and comics, which together brought in a $250,000 annual profit. He returned to comics in 1946, resuming some titles from the earlier series.
THE HEAP - 001 Air Fighters Comics Hillman Dec V1 #3 1942
The Heap is the name of several fictional comic book muck-monsters, the original of which first appeared in Hillman Periodicals' Air Fighters Comics #3 (cover-dated Dec. 1942), during the period fans and historians call the Golden Age of Comic Books. The Heap was comics' first swamp monster.

1949 Hillman Real Clue Crime Stories 37 aka vol 4 no 1 Pre Code Golden Age Comic Book (Peek Inside)
Real Clue Crime Stories 37 aka vol 4 no 1 by Hillman Publications. Pre code era: March 1949. A random awesome common or uncommon Golden Age Comic Book. Not a key book. Nothing special just an old book from 1949 with some great artwork and stories. A lower to mid grade raw reader copy. 52 pages of historical newsprint. Can you smell that old newsprint paper smell along with the tactile feel of old newsprint paper. Nothing beats this sensation hence i DO NOT read books online unless the book is that scarce or rare. At the end of the day you do you :-) This channel is focused on RAW books most of the time. Will have a plastic coffin thrown in every now and then.

The Soul's Code by James Hillman | Book Review
Do we have a soul? What is a daimon? In The Soul's Code by James Hillman, we get a very persuasive argument for the mysterious driving forces behind each and every one of our lives. I thought it was a pretty good read and if the topics of fate, destiny, character, genius, and daimons appeals to you then you might as well. Hope you enjoy.

Hillman’s tenaciousness is partly why he has earned a larger role in Michigan’s secondary this season ... Michigan entered the mix in March 2023 – after the early signing period – and ended up landing Hillman after he decommitted from the Fighting Irish.
“The first period, I thought we played pretty good, we just made a couple big mistakes and let them behind for breakaways,” Laviolette said. “Second period, I didn’t like ... rebound in the third period.
In addition, the agency is also expanding its team with the appointment of GordonSquire as a lead data scientist and Tamara Hillman as trainee SEO marketing assistant ... Hillman is joining the agency on an in-house training basis ... Hillman added.
Hillman said his office received more than 300 comments, specifically about the Pink House, during the public comment period and he intends to release the final plan for the property by the end of March.
