Bugs is an anthropomorphic gray hare or rabbit who is famous for his flippant, insouciant personality; a pronounced New York accent; his portrayal as a trickster; and his catch phrase "Eh... What's up, doc?", usually said while chewing a carrot. Though a similar rabbit character began appearing in the Warner Bros. cartoon shorts during the late 1930s, the definitive character of Bugs Bunny is widely credited to have made his debut in director Tex Avery's Oscar-nominated film A Wild Hare (1940).
Several published first person accounts, encyclopedic references, and Warner Bros.' own published material describe the inception of the name and of the character. A model sheet by Charlie Thorson describes this prototype character as "Bugs' Bunny" (note the apostrophe) but in most of the cartoons the character is unnamed.
Virgil Ross, the animator for A Wild Hare describes how the character came to be named in the interview published by Animato! magazine #19.Mel Blanc often told the story of the creation of the character and its name. He suggested that the character be named after the character's initial director, Ben "Bugs" Hardaway.
Blanc's own book, That's Not All Folks published by Warner Books in 1989, describes the "tough little stinker" that was the eventual version of the redesigned character as directed by Tex Avery.
Warner Brothers' own published descriptions of the creation of the character's name can be found in Animation Magazine published in 1990. Therein it is described that the Hardaway unit's model sheet came to be known by fellow animators as "Bugs' Bunny".
The film has songs by Jimmy McHugh (music) and Harold Adamson (lyrics), as well as one song by Rodgers and Hart, "Disgustingly Rich," that remains from the stage production.
Plot
The household staff of millionaire Cyrus Drake hasn't been paid for months when his bankruptcy is announced. With the wife and daughter of Cyrus on a long trip abroad, a scheme is formed to pass off the attractive young maid Millie as the socialite daughter, Pamela Drake, and marry her off to a rich man so there'll be money for all.
The valet, Mike O'Brien, helps with the transformation, unaware that Millie is secretly in love with him. Asked if she'd ever been courted, Millie mentions that she likes the way a young man next door sometimes sings to her. His name is Frank.
Higher and Higher premiered on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre on April 4, 1940 and closed on June 15, 1940, after 84 performances. It played a return engagement at the Shubert Theatre from August 5 to August 24, 1940.

LYRICS
Oh my gal is a high-born stepper
Ginger with salt and pepper
She's a fancy stepper when she dances
Go and see her as she kippers and prances
My gal don't do much talking
Dances even when she's walking
One and two and three and four she dances all day long

It’s not my day And not my world to live in and die in. It’s not my way And I wasn’t bourn to look for fear To excite me Or frustrate me, Invite me Into the world Of creators, Decivilizators. Inspirations, Imaginations. Higher, higher… It’s not my song And not my voice collapsing. It’s not my home And I’m asking, what the hell I am to all. Excite me, Frustrate me, Invite me Into the world Of creators, Decivilizators. Inspirations, Imaginations. Higher, higher… I’m not your love, I’m not spending nights tripping and flying. It’s not okay, But I do not care anyway for it all. Excite me, Frustrate me, Invite me Into the world Of creators, Decivilizators. Inspirations, Imaginations. Higher, higher…
Opinion bug ... It appeared to be just another spin of the revolving door in an administration that long ago assumed the quality of a crashing airplane in a BugsBunny cartoon. a higher and higher aerodynamic whine, leading to the inevitable splat.
