Matt Ryan (born 23 June 1984 in Sydney) is a retired Australian rower who has represented at two Olympic Games.
Ryan competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where he won a silver medal in Coxless four. In London 2012 he rowed in the Australian men's eight which placed 6th.
Ryan began his rowing at The King's School, Parramatta and was part of the First VIII crew in 2001 and 2002 that won the AAGPS Head of the River. The 2001 crew which also contained fellow future Australian senior national team rowers Nicholas Hudson and Sam Loch, also went on to win the Barrington Cup to be crowned National Schoolboy champions. In addition to this, the 2001 crew won the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta. In 2002, Ryan stroked the Australian Junior Coxed Four to a gold medal at the World Junior Championships in Trakai, Lithuania.
Continuing to move through the underage ranks, Ryan was a bronze medallist in 2003 in the Men's Eight at the Nations Cup regatta (now the World Under 23 Championships) in Belgrade, Serbia. The following year, Ryan returned to the top of the podium at the World Under 23 Regatta in Poznan, Poland in an all-New South Wales, Coxed Four.
"@" is a studio album by John Zorn and Thurston Moore. It is the first collaborative album by the duo and was recorded in New York City in February, 2013 and released by Tzadik Records in September 2013. The album consists of improvised music by Zorn and Moore that was recorded in the studio in real time with no edits or overdubs.
Reception
Allmusic said "@ finds two of New York City's longest-running fringe dwellers churning out sheets of collaborative sounds that conjoin their respective and distinct states of constant freak-out... These seven improvisations sound inspired without feeling at all heavy-handed or urgent. More so, @ succeeds with the type of conversational playing that could only be achieved by two masters so deep into their craft that it probably feels a lot like breathing to them by now".
?! is the third studio album by Italian rapper Caparezza, and his first release not to use the former stage name MikiMix.
Reception
Reviewing the album for Allmusic, Jason Birchmeier wrote, "The Italian rapper drops his rhymes with just as much fluency and dexterity as his American peers throughout the album. [...] Caparezza's mastery of the Italian dialect [makes] this album so stunning."
Will awakens in the early morning to a high-pitched whirring sound which fills the jungle, but eventually it goes away. Rick has Holly build a trap to catch whatever has been breaking into their stores, and Will goes to weed the garden. While outside, he again hears the sound and follows it to the Lost City. Within, he enters a chamber with a very crude-looking attempt to simulate a matrix table but filled with colored stones instead of crystals. On the ground is a pulsating blue crystal that attracts his attention. Picking it up, he sees his mother (Erica Hagen) materialize in a cloud of mist. Afterwards, he returns to High Bluff but doesn't speak of his encounter.
The next day Holly's trap has not worked, and Will again hears the sound. Holly hears it briefly as well, but dismisses it. Will returns to the Lost City and again witnesses his mother while holding a blue stone. His mother calls for him, but he is interrupted by Holly, who sees nothing until she touches the blue crystal as well. Holding it together, they are both beckoned by their mother to "come home," but then she quickly adds, "Too late. Come tomorrow. Don't tell." Will explains to Holly that he wants to tell Rick about his discovery but for some reason he is unable to. Holly replies that she will tell their father if he does not and Will sincerely hopes that she can. Will theorizes that they were looking through a time doorway that is open to a period when she was still alive. When Holly asks why her image is not very clear, her brother suggests that it might be because they do not remember her very well.
Ryan Malloy is a fictional character from the BBCsoap operaEastEnders, played by Neil McDermott. From his arrival on 28 April 2009, the character remained a mystery in the show for a number of months, until he was revealed as the half-brother of established character, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty). Ryan departed on 26 August 2011, before making a surprise guest appearance on 2 September 2014. Following his former lover, Stacey Branning (Lacey Turner), being sectioned in the episode that aired on 22 January 2016, he then made a surprise return for a short stint to look after his daughter Lily Branning (Aine Garvey).
Storylines
Ryan first appears on screen on 28 April 2009 when he is seen in the park by Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and Shirley Carter (Linda Henry). He asks Whitney if she is all right, but she runs off calling him a "creep". Weeks later, he helps Whitney and others escape from a fire started in the café by Nick Cotton (John Altman). Whitney then sees Ryan as a mysterious hero. Whitney's mother, Debra Dean (Ruth Gemmell), turns up at Whitney's house, saying that a man is after her. Whitney demands to know why, and Debra says she has something belonging to him. They fetch it, but when they return home, Ryan is waiting for them; he is the man who is chasing Debra. Ryan reveals to Whitney he is her half-brother and says he killed someone in self-defence, giving the weapon to Debra to hide. He demands it back from Whitney, but she refuses, and later disposes of it in a canal.

it comes and goes, the fear that i will never know
another love, but maybe my love grows
and maybe i, believe that summer is alive
inside us all, just hiding in our minds
well maybe I'm,
afraid of who i am, mmhmm
and time,
is slipping through my hands, once again
cuz i believe in something more than happiness,
will lay our hearts to rest, and let us fall
cuz love is what we need to make ourselves confess
we want it all
i've come to find, that people flow on through our lives
like passing cars, reflected in our eyes
it often seems that life's a joker and a dream

Contemplating the great escape

Lyrics, Credits & Details to follow. But first...
I learned from The Clash to let in what we love. This song wasn't calculated, it wasn't even hard or labored over. It just kind of appeared. The short of it is, after getting home from a tour together through Texas, Doug Lancio and I went our separate ways to decompress. A few days home, I wrote a poem called "Are You the Matador?" It was exactly the words you'll read below, a poem to a kind of existential wanderlust and sorrow... And hope. Simultaneously, without me knowing, Doug had created this sexy and spooky and deep piece of Spanish noir while getting sounds in his studio sorted. It was all performed and recorded by Doug on a whim. He's a wildly talented human. So... I went over to his place for a visit and a catch-up a few weeks after we got home, and he played this amazing music for me. It was just after Halloween. The weather was starting to break. It was perfect and felt like a color of deep red earth and burnt orange. I said, "Man, Doug, I love that. You're not gonna believe this but I just finished this poem..."
I don't know how these things happen. But that's what you'll hear here. And to me, while I love the song and the strange magic of how it came to be. I feel now that it's more important that I offer "Are You the Matador?" with a spirit of acknowledgement, affection, thanks and welcoming to Hispanic and Latino people, and their cultures. Here's to love and inclusion. Always.
Lyrics, Credits & Details:
"Are You The Matador?"
Are you the matador?
Or are you the bull?
Are you the weapon,
Or a tool?
Or are you a third thing,
Something like air,
That's felt and fluid and moving
Like a water that wasn't there?
There’s the seen and the unknown
The perfect haunting every time
The northern wires that get lost and tangled
Between the heart and the feel and the mind
The maps, books, music, love, the death and sex
Your voice gets lower the further you go
The moon crawls across the bed you sleep in
An orange bird hovers at your window
That's you there, isn't it?
I can see it in your eyes like scars,
The barbed-wire of freedom is
where the dark blurs fractured and constant and jagged at the edges of the threshold of every star
where the dark blurs fractured and constant and jagged at the edges of the threshold of every star
You see, the barbed-wire of freedom is
Where the dark blurs fractured and constant and jagged at the edges of the threshold of every star
That's what we are

I can see it in your eyes like scars,
The barbed-wire of freedom is
where the dark blurs fractured and constant and jagged at the edges of the threshold of every star
where the dark blurs fractured and constant and jagged at the edges of the threshold of every star
You see, the barbed-wire of freedom is
Where the dark blurs fractured and constant and jagged at the edges of the threshold of every star
That's what we are

Album : May Day (1997)
Song: Comfort
Lycris :
I was sitting in hell's kitchen
Contemplating murder
Contemplating murder
Contemplating the great escape
When you walked in
Looking like crap but satisfied
I swear that you looked satisfied
And I hated you for that
Well, someone once said
If you never look back
Then you'll never regret, nothing
Oh, but nothing
Has got a way of sneakin' up
Well, I know you did not ask
But I've got some comfort to offer
Nothing very good or bad ever lasts
Well, the bum that slipped underneath the fridge
Like a phantom card, we call him happiness
And all that happiness is a miserable son of a bitch
Now the kitchen's getting crowded
And the band is really loud
And there's a fat man saying he's my friend
Well, hey, man, if you're my friend
Will you spot me a drink?
And the couple in the corner
They're the reason why I hate rock and roll
'Cause rock and roll is dead, is dead, is dead
Well, I know you did not ask
But I've got some comfort to offer
Nothing very good or bad ever lasts
