Guisborough Town Football Club formed in 1973 and after winning the Middlesbrough & District League and the South Bank & District League they were soon entered into the Northern Alliance. There is however evidence to show that there were football teams in the town as Guisborough pre-dating them, such as Guisborough Belmont Athletic as far back as the 1920s, and a team named simply Guisborough from the 1940s.
Guisborough finished top of the Northern Alliance in the 1979–80 season, and reached the final of the FA Vase tournament that same season, losing 2–0 to Stamford FC at the original Wembley Stadium.
Guisborough then played in the Midland League for two seasons, ending in 5th position in both occasions, before becoming a founding member of the Northern Counties East League where they played for the next three seasons.
Guisborough was formerly part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, from 1974 to 1996 part of the County of Cleveland and now in the unitary authority of Redcar and Cleveland. Gighesbore is recorded in the Domesday Book and the ruined Gisborough Priory dates to the 12th century. The priory and Gisborough Hall (16th century, demolished and rebuilt) are spelt without the first U. Some other old sites and names use that same spelling.

Millions of us attend matches across the UK each weekend, in a bid to see their team gain those luxury three points?
I am on a challenge, to see football but on a budget, each week i will get a random budget set by a random number generator app on my phone, and whatever number comes out on my phone.
I must buy, travel, a match ticket food and support the club by buying a bit of Merch.
I will then review my experience, this week I am off to Guisborough Town Football Club. I am always looking to expand on this idea, so any feedback is appreciated.

Guisborough is mainly full of un-sanctioned Enduro style trails and Downhill trails, best ridden on an Enduro Bike due to the amount of climbing involved. Enjoy our fails, bails, sends and sick trails, this was such a good ride. We covered 17 miles and 3300ft of climbing, a perfect distance and amount of climbing for training for Enduro races. The priory and Gisborough Hall (16th century, demolished and rebuilt) are spelt without the first U. Some other old sites and names use that same spelling.
Guisborough market, held every Thursday and Saturday with a few stalls on Tuesday, has long been a focal point for the surrounding area. Originally selling cattle and other livestock, the market developed into a general market for fruit and vegetables, clothing and flower stalls. It is open from early morning to late afternoon on the recently restored cobbles that line Westgate, the principal shopping street. Guisborough Museum, behind Westgate's Sunnyfield House, exhibits photos of Guisborough's history and inhabitants. There is a working watermill at Tocketts Mill.
The Guisborough Helmet is a Roman cavalry helmet found near the town in 1864. The Anglican Church of St Nicholas is home to the de Brus cenotaph. A church was possibly in existence in 1290, although the chancel dates from the late 15th century. Gisborough Hall, a Victorian mansion, was built in the Jacobean style in 1856. It is the former home of the family of Lord Gisborough.
Guisborough Town Hall (Grade II Listed) was built in 1821 and initially comprised two storeys, being extended to three in 1870. Guisborough is the home of the Orion Explorer Scout Unit for young people aged 14 to 18. It is affiliated to the Scout Association.
Two main roads cross at Guisborough, the A171 and the A173. The A171 leads west to Middlesbrough and east to Whitby whilst the A173 goes south-west to Stokesley and north-east as far as Skelton, where it joins the A174 coast road. Until 1964, Guisborough was served by trains from Middlesbrough; the Middlesbrough & Guisborough Railway had its terminus at the now-demolished Guisborough station. Before 1958 it had been possible to travel from Guisborough to Whitby and Scarborough, along the scenic North Yorkshire coast railway.

Join me for a walk around the gorgeous town centre of Guisborough, one of Yorkshire's best hidden gems! Complete with a 12th-century Augustinian Priory, a beautiful church and a number of other wonderful sights, Guisborough is home to so much history, and offers an interesting blend of medieval market town and Teesside industrial centre.
As we walk around Guisborough, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including St. Nicholas Church, Guisborough War Memorial, Guisborough Priory Walls, Guisborough Market Cross, Guisborough Town Hall (covered in scaffolding!), The Black Swan Pub, Westgate, Guisborough Methodist Church, Sunnyfield House, Guisborough United Reformed Church, The Ironstone Miner Pub, Guisborough Library, Chapel Beck and the spectacular Gisborough Priory!

Places to see in ( Guisborough - UK )
Guisborough is a market town and civil parish in the North East of England. It belongs to the unitary authority of Redcar and Cleveland and the Tees Valley region. The town is in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. The civil parish of Guisborough, includes the outlying villages of Upleatham, Dunsdale and Newton under Roseberry.

After 10 years off the bike I venture out to my local trails in Guisborough woods to see what ive been missing out on. This first video shows some of the older trails I used to ride and I stumble on something new.....
An edit from a ride with mates at Guisborough on the MTB trails. This place is awesome and we barely scratched the surface of how many trails there are! This is currently my favourite riding spot.
Enjoy and look forward to the next video.

I'm very lucky to live in Guisborough and have an abundance of trails around me including the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors.
Guisborough woods is riding so well at the moment with all the nice weather we've had lately, so taking advantage of this, I wanted to show you Guisborough's newest trail called Amber Gambler, a trail that was built by two of my good friends.
Whilst we are all on lockdown with the Covid 19 virus I'm trying to self isolate whilst out on the trails and not putting myself at too much risk of injury during these difficult times. Stay safe everyone and hopefully we'll see you all out on the trails soon.

Guisborough Woods has such a diverse amount of trails. In this video I ride what I like to call, the Highcliffe Trails. These trails are all around the Highcliffe area of Guisborough Woods. You can combine them together to create a nice little loop, ideal if your pushed for time and want a quick hour out on the bike.
